Show us yours - Realistic modelling

Mainline steam action! 6233 at speed on my West coast mainline diorama. Amazing what you can do with a couple of cotton wool balls! 😁 -
Good to see Bachmann doing models as detailed as this (along with the 47 & 90), I’d say they are definitely trying to raise the bar although I fear Accurascale may have already surpassed it and at a much cheaper price which I know has already been mentioned on here plenty of times. Great to have choice between manufacturers though, looking forward to seeing the other liveries that are being produced, would be good if Bachmann tried doing some of the liveries we’ve not seen on a recent model of the 37 such as “Royal Scotsman” or “Police” I’d also be in the market for a Network rail or ROG one though to go with me AS ones 😁

Planet Industrials - Kerr Stuart Victory RTR in OO...

I’ve given in and pre-ordered a lined grey version 🙈 It’s going to look great running on my “black & white” wagon repair depot layout! Looking forward to this one chaps 😁👍 -
Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
Northmoor MPD replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Jesus! It’s only DCC ready too! Before people kick off, everyone had the same opportunity to pre-order the model for a good few years! If people are willing to pay that now then that’s the way it goes. -
Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale

My replacement “Alycidon” arrived today and it is perfect! 😁 100% the best model I’ve ever seen in 00 scale. Here are a few pictures of it on my micro layout, it’s well out of scale for it but as I’ve not even got around to laying the track on my depot layout yet it’s the best I’ve got 🙈😂 -
My Alycidon arrived on Wednesday, stunning model and well packed by locomotion but unfortunately it has damage on the nose ends :( Fired off an email to Accurascale who said to contact locomotion, so I’ve sent a couple of emails to locomotion but as yet had no reply, will have to try the phone lines on Monday...

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale

After a long wait my Alycidon D9009 arrived today! Arrived home from work, opened it faster than a kid at Christmas… But unfortunately looks like it’ll be going back 😭 The body sides and roof look great but the nose ends have paint chips on the headlight, some marks in the yellow and a couple of detail bits either loose or fallen off (Which I’d be happy to put back on myself if I had to) Such a shame but I have no doubt Accurascale / Locomotion will put it right! Will fire off an email in the morning, hopefully they have some spare body shells 🤞 -

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale

I’d take a few tiny bits of detail dropping off over a much less detailed, wrongly shaped locomotive any day! Each to their own I guess! I think people forget the journey these models have been on, hand assembled, shipped on the high seas in a metal box, transported to base, sorted and then shipped individually by courier! I understand people always want a perfect model but with these levels of detail previously only seen in 0 gauge or larger I think they’ve done extremely well. I also think people forget how amazing Accurascales customer care is, if you really are unhappy, one email / phone call and it’s sorted! Try that with one of the other manufacturers, I know I have and it takes days / weeks and I still ended up with a model that was worse than the original one I sent back! Hats off to Accurascale on a fantastic model. Looking forward to my locomotion models one arriving now! 😁 -

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
Northmoor MPD replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Yes, the same people that would be first to jump on here and emails slating the model if there was something wrong with the QC on their model…but they can’t wait a few extra days to make sure the models are sound before shipping out! -
Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
Northmoor MPD replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
I believe they already increased the number of certain deltic models being produced a while ago, before the production finished, and these sold out too. Better to do a second run of a popular model than hundreds sat on shelves in a warehouse somewhere. -
Class 37, by Accurascale

…and then when Accurascale decide to make an HST we’ll be able to recreate the advert in OO! 😅😄 -

Wouldn’t mind seeing this as an Accurascale Exclusive 😛😉 Some of the old Lima ones go for £100+ these days! -
Barrow hill aside…Would still love a decent HST! 🙏 I’m not holding much hope for Hornby's “All New” one 🙄

Baby Deltic 🤔😁

Not in the deltic shed but there is a class 89 at BH 👀 🤞 😂 -
The 9F is looking rather tasty! I do like the footplate details too! As mentioned above the cab window on the drivers side should definitely be glass and not painted over, I’d imagine it’s just an oversight on the pre-production models. Here’s a couple of reference photos from when I was the fireman of 92134 at the GCR last year, complete with our fish and chips on the hotplate! 😋
