  1. Thanks Gary Unfortunately my shunter isn't working very well at the moment, I think some oil will get it running better though. Nothing wrong with the track as my J11 glides over it. I hope I will get some more offers after Warley though, hopefully not too far from the Duchy
  2. I'm not sure if I will, it's a bit late now and too far for you too travel each day (no expenses) Thanks though
  3. The brake can looks amazing and sometimes I do have some half decent ideas
  4. Thanks, I think the fact my layouts name begins with an A helps with getting it to the top (aren't I a marketing genius) That reminds me, I need to ring up the guy from the Liskeard show to see if there's space for A Small Yard, the only problem is I don't know if I can get anyone to help operate
  5. I had a small problem with rmweb not working on this laptop on chrome and using IE crashed my laptop. The post I deleted was one when it crashed I think Anyway, the layout is practically finished barring goods shed, details and a tiny bit of ballasting. Loco headlamps are fitted as are brake vans. Next, I'll start on the Goods Shed and weathering (if the sealent works) At the time of posting, the layout hadn't been tried to see if it works.
  6. Fixed rmweb for myself

You mean you didn't fix it for the rest of us as well?

  7. Veg? What the heck is that doing in a pastry? All you need is meat!
  8. To me, old DMUs such as class 101s are far more interesting than what's around today! And I'll give tacky wax a try if I can find some, thanks for the help
  9. Is it a specialist product or a general household thing, if the latter, a trip to Trago might yield some results?
  10. How do you fix them on if you don't mind me asking? I've used super glue on my brake vans but something less permanent would be better for locos.
  11. Mamma Mia is on and I'm seriously considering calling childline as a result

If you have been affected by any of the issues in this status update, you can call the National Counselling Helpline....

  12. I have the model funnily enough, it's on my workbench waiting to be weathered. I'd still like to build the kit, just with the detail differences
  13. Never knew about that kit, might look out for it at Warley. I might pinch some of your ideas as well, especially with the open door and I could have the guard outside
  14. Thanks Jaz, I'll bear the comments on photos in mind. As for the walling, that sounds interesting for another project, but for this layout I think I'll go with fences as I'm running out of time
  15. why am I looking at various Airfix kits and figures

  16. That really is horrible I assume Kal is still laughing
  17. I have been, shame about the pics though Thanks Gary, I'll look into the isopropyl as it seems to work well Thanks Richard, hopefully by the end of the weekend it's just going to be the Goods shed and the tree area to make.
  18. Thanks Duncan Thanks Matt, it's now been removed as it's a time travelling one
  19. That's exactly what I was planning, I need to order some bits though
  20. Bumper lot of dodgy photos for you all First up, the new and hopefully improved road. For those of you who don't know, before it was a very dark grey and full of scale 2 metre straight edge dips. I created the new surface using filler, it isn't perfect, but what country roads are. I then painted it using Humbrol enamels and weathered it with powders, mainly black and clay around the entrance to the yard. The main hill is now fully grassed, I finished it using Polak and Noch, hence the variation. Next, figure painting. These are all Dapol workmen, painted using Humbrol acrylics from the box and some wargaming paint. A tail lamp added to a brake van, needs weathering to cover up the first botched attmept The loading platform, still needs a ramp making (which I'm doing now) with the new crane on. It's 'painted' using Halfords grey primer and needs weathering. Also, two of the figures I've painted, the one next to the lorry is one from a show. The cattle docks almost completely finished Ballasting is almost done, on the track and yard And I've painted the top of the coal staithes And breath. This week I'm aiming to get the yard office built and ballasting completely done (P.S, sorry Andy if I crash the forum because of this)
