Further to my comments on the exhibition forum. The stand out layouts were Brimscombe from the Shirehampton Club, a superb N gauge layout, Snake Bend N from the Worcester 'N' gauge Group as well as Alkerton Road with DCC and realistic sounds. Abergavenny Brecon Road was very well modelled within the space allowed with superb details, but let down by its operation.

Victoria Station was not a normal destination for cross London freight traffic. The GWR goods depot at South Lambeth was the nearest. There were several coal depots in South London that were owned by the Midland or LNWR but I am not sure there were any GNR or GER depots in this area.

There is a photo of a J50/4 at Victoria Station Eastern Side in Volume 2 of Noodle Books Modelling the Southern Vol 2. It is coupled to three wagons. The author does not know what working it was undertaking but it does confirm this variant did work south of the river. Must get my order in.

The shambles around certain bridge clearance works such as Daunstey last year and others points towards time over runs and increased costs, but then should I be surprised with the poor level of civil engineers currently available?

The USA is a complex loco and sadly the 00 Kit option is beyond my limited skills. So I am prepared to wait. Thanks Chris for the updates.

Despite cancelling my pre order I weakened and purchased the lined green 6412 version from Lord and Butler. Fabulous model.

Fabulous layout. I was expecting a Cavan and Leitrim layout with the name but the SL&NCLR has been captured to perfection.

Sadly have to agree with Shortliner as have just taken an estate load of railway mags to the tip. Downsizing after 26 years in same house, so as no one wants old mags these days, it's down the recycling.

At the risk of hijacking the thread, San Francisco's system is definitely interesting with the street running Breda high floor cars in the suburbs using the old street car tunnels etc. Back to the Waddon Marsh thread, I have a Bachmann 2 EPB for a West Croydon Wimbledon project,with an E4 on pre order, need a SEF E6 for the coal trains to Croydon B. One C class allocated to Norwood Junction but did this make it onto the line on coal trains? C2X worked the other freights but I can remember Ws on some workings to Beddington Lane sidings. It's a great project as you can achieve much in a small area as Pete 75C has done so far.

Hi Colin, You are correct. Still in touch with Glenn who has now retired but has a very active life in Coulsdon. Have been living here for 26 years close to the Dean Forest Railway and Perrygrove Railway. Waiting to take both grandaughters on Santa specials more likely 2015. Managed to visit San Francisco this year and enjoyed the PCC cars on the F line as well as the cable cars best late at night when its just your group and the crew. Trolleybus routes as well. Must go back soon.

There are several photos of Coal Tanks in the Middleton Press book Abergavenny to Merthyr. They had a long life in South Wales on the LNWR lines.

Hi, Surveyed Wharf Cottage today which adjoins Crossing Cottage Todenham just off the A429. Here the property has been extended over the old trackbed but the route is visible opposite the property. Happy hunting.

There are two black and white photos in the Industrial Railwsy Society book plus two on the Staffordshire Historical web site. I think both the photos may not be copied..

Just found out from reading the excellent Industrial Railway Society book on Brewery Railways in Burton that Bass had 2 Sentinels in their fleet. So a possible new livery for Hornby subject to agreement with Trade mark owner Coors?
