  1. Me neither. Some are expected May though. If you look on the website that one might be one of the later arrivals :-)
  2. Odd feeling - track laying on my layout is finished...

  3. Hope no one minds me resurreciting this thread. I was wondering after finding out that the particular train I wanted to model has a consist listed as 7 x BG's would they have all been BG's or could they havre been random parcels wagons such as GUV's / CCT's etc? Also I understand that parcels stock often traveled about the country from one region to another. How likely would Green Southern mk1 And GW chocolate and cream mk1 BG's have been in other places? Or we're there only a few of them which were kept in the area? Thanks for any help you can give :-)
  4. I emailed hattons today. They got back to me very quickly. They said the bunker is oart of the moulding and will be as on the pre prod models. The numbers might not be the same size on the factory models but they won't know until the first ones appear. Hope that helps.
  5. Seems as though there are some class 28 bargains to be had at hattons at the moment...
  6. Interesting comments above Steve45. Excuse my ignorance as I wasn't at Warley but were there a number of Garratts there? If so did they all have the mould lines on? I seem to remember from somewhere hearing that these were samples that had been painted by hand so maybe that could explain it...I hope so. I see what you mean about the pitch if the bunker. After you mentioned it I think It is noticeable if you're looking for it. I hadn't noticed it before. I think from the photos I've seen of the model and I don't thin that would make me cancel my order (or change it for a standard bunker type) What I wasn't so keen on in the pics of the br one on Topley Dale was the size of the numbers - compared to the photos in the Irwell press book they looked rather too large. Might be my eyes are going though!
  7. That footage is from a DVD that you can buy...Derbyshire main line I think is the one...
  8. For the first time in about a year a train has run under its own power on my layout (formerly Hassop) hooray!

Thanks guys - hopefully I'll get the two mainline loops done - that's my aim :-)

  9. Geoff Taylor who did the buildings for Dewsbury Midland and Gresley Beat http://www.gtbuildingsmodels.co.uk/
  10. There is some excellent stuff here isn't there...if I'm not mistaken the building in the banner here looks a lot like...Bakewell! http://yorkmodelmaking.co.uk/00-scale/detailing-steps-bridges-signs
  11. Laser cut plastic? That sounds a bit easier then brass! Where do you get those from? I always thing the up platform looked quite forlorn - just a glorified wall - what's the little building behind it?
  12. For what it's worth Al, I think that you've done a good job with that. It really looks the part - well done. I wonder based on Hassop if the stone is too creamy? Maybe it's the light, of the fact it's a picture. Love the awning mark though. Do you konw that Awnings are available as etched brass kits?
  13. Is the station the building next to the dump site at the moment? I guess the Brampton - Buckden Road would have gone over a bridge? Or a level crossing?
  14. eBay has rolls of the stuff. Usually cheaper then most local garden centres
  15. Hi Al. I found this thread really helpful when it came to scenery http://www.modellersunited.com/herstmonceux-a-slice-of-east-sussex-in-4mm-t51.html
  16. HI al - the bridge and the goods shed look really impressive - Inspired me to have a go at scratchbuilding a bridge myself I think! did you just use Bill's book for the drawings and dimensions? I think the painting and weathering is particularly good! What humbrol colours did you use? I take it that you painted with brush, not an airbrush? I do like the way the 7mm stone has come across. I wasn't sure the stones would be too big when I saw one in the flesh but it really looks the part! I think the 3D aspect outweighs it being too big!
  17. FYI :-) http://www.billhudsontransportbooks.co.uk/selected-product.php?prod=over+the+peak+&pid=6578
  18. Peak Forest station has a different spelling to the village it serves...peakdale...
  19. They seemed to work into Rowsley on and off so a garratt at whastandwell isn't strange. They didn't go up the bank though, mainly because of the braking requirements meant that they couldn't use the power they have. I think that because of that they had something like the same load limit as a 4F...I think!
  20. H Al. Thanks for the Reply. I am at Hassop this Wednesday lunchtime for a meeting so I might take the opportunity to get some piccys While I'm there. I think that there is more of note left at Bakewell though. Still the Hassop books are invaluable for research into that place. One day I would love to walk the line, or cycle it. I'm only up for 1 day this week though taking the girls to see grandma and grandad so don't have time. I would live to see Peak Rail reopen the line but I'm not sure that it will ever happen. I believe you're right that the Duke has said that the only railway that will go through his land is one built by network rail. And to be fair, they might be the only people who would be able to cross the A6. Maybe PR needs to get Roman Abramovich on board!
  21. H Al. Thanks to reminding me we'd already chatted about the painting of the roof! Totally forgot! Like the pics of Bakewell. I was there I the autumn. I think the ing that strikes me is how small it seems when you are there, shears I. Pictures it seems much roomier. It's a nice walk for Hassop to bakewell. How far south can you go before the path stops? Would be brilliant if one day they could reopen the walkway all the way to Rowsley. I won't hold my breath though :-)
  22. Hey Al. Can I ask you a question about your cellar please? Did you paint it white? Does it make a massive difference being white? Reason I ask is that I'm wondering whether to use the big tin of magnolia paint I found to paint up the loft roof which is a bit dark and dingy. The laws of physics suggest that it will help...I think...
  23. Great stuff Al - your little plank idea inspiried me to do one of my own...and I'm glad I'm not the only one using child labour :-)
  24. Is it that the designer gets the credit? Like Pep A1's were all BR built but are referred to as LNER pacifics? I guess there is also the fact it's a direct descendent of a Stanier LMS design (though I see that could also be applied back the other way - LMS Standard 2s' Just my musings...
