  1. Wadebridge, Cornwall. Sorry, just noticed you wanted a teminus.
  2. Probably not quite the same thing but the Royal Albert Bridge has a set of points on the end of the approach spans at Saltash where the single track on the bridge opens up to the double track. i think I'm correct in saying that originally the points were off the bridge, within the station but were moved to accommodate longer trains in the station. The last couple of approach spans had to be widened to take the points.
  3. I had one a few years ago, came in very useful as i was visiting my dad who was in hospital at the time (it saved me driving 30+ miles from Plymouth to St Austell and back). I only have moderate hearing loss but at that time was able to use it for a carer as well.
  4. Do the Japanese write from right to left? If so that might explain it.
  5. I wonder if Andy could patch in a stay alive unit
  6. Ive just seen the notice about the forum downtime. No forum for maybe two days; how will we manage. I may have to resort to doing some modelling!

If you paws fur a while, the correct picture may appear.
  8. That's made me feel a bit better then.
  9. So sorry to hear your news Mal. Will be thinking of you and praying for you.
  10. I used to be the same with video editing. I would spend ages putting a video together, then play it through, and notice one small section, which could be improved, go back and change it, then play it again and notice something else, and so it went on, round and round the loop. It may be an exaggeration, but I once estimated I spent an hour editing for a minute of finished video.
  11. So they'll go round no.1 radius curves easier.

That one was listed about a month ago. The seller's obviously determined.
  13. I suppose it has it advantages. No problems with derailments or stalling locos. No time wasted cleaning track or wheels.
  14. Using a calculator: 4100 In my head, adding all the 1000's together first, then adding on the multiples of 10: 4100. Adding the numbers as they are shown: 5000 For some reason, when i got to 4090, in my head it became 4900 and the last ten became 100 giving 5000. Good one!
  15. Yep you're right. Just checked a few listings I've been watching and all those that have no bids show the 'make offer' button. Makes sense when you think about it, no point in making an offer below the starting price if someone has already bid that price. Another lesson learned in ebayology.
  16. Maybe that was the reason, I'll check that next time one comes up. Thanks
  17. Nobody's fault but my own but: Three times recently I've bid for pairs of items, from the same seller, hoping to save a bit on combined postage. On each occasion, I've won one item and been outbid on the other at the last minute! Serves me right I suppose for penny pinching.
  18. Reminds me of the old story about the Rolls Kanardley: Rolls down one side and can 'ardly get up the other.
  19. So how do you make an offer on an auction item? I've just found an item with an auction starting price, and under the price is 'best offer' , but there is only a 'place bid option, no make offer option
  20. There was one in Tavistock Market a few years back, but haven't seen it there the last couple of years.
  21. Pedant hat on, you're actually talking voltage drop here not current drop. Pedant hat off, above makes no difference to the discussion

We could do with a few of those on this forum to keep conversations on thread.
  23. Oh no, we've gone from headlights to blue lights. I thought the idea of an ambulance was to take people away from danger, not into it.
