  1. Time will tell, there’s rarely smoke without fire. On the occasions I have spoken or dealt with Simon I found him a very helpful and knowledgeable chap. Good luck to hime whatever he decides to do. Being retired certainly does not give you time to count blades of grass. The often used phrase “I don’t know how I found time to work as I’m always busy” is so true. Terry
  2. Just a thank you to all who participated in our spring show and for all who attended both locals and others from further afield . It’s not often you are able to attend a model railway event and have tea and cake and sit outside in the glorious sunshine. Terry
  3. May I suggest a phone call to John at YouChoos may be worthwhile. Eltel
  4. Looking forward to the day at our Spring Show meeting fellow model rail enthusiasts and a bit of good humoured banter. As previously stated the ladies will have tea and cakes and Mike Topping will have a good selection of pre owned model railway goodies. Seems we are going to be blessed with good weather. Terry
  5. Alan Cromarty is bringing his Cement Works which is part of Oulton TMD as a stand alone layout for the first time. Sorted out some trestles for him earlier today.
  6. Yes certainly is Margaret Street - see previous post.
  7. Morning SRC introduced this small spring show last year (2022) as at the time of planning this small show we had to cancel our annual February Exhibition due to covid restrictions. We were then given the opportunity by the Showground management of moving our annual exhibition to its new date of the last weekend in September each year. We decided we would still go ahead with this small Spring Show. The 2022 Spring Show was a success and gave the opportunity for members to have a less formal day playing trains. All the layouts are owned by club members and we are supported by a local model shop Topp Trains Very much a social event which the membership enjoyed, so we decided to repeat the Spring Show in 2023 this coming weekend 20th May Terry
  8. Only four days to go before the Stafford Spring Model Railway Show. I will be there with my new micro layout Margaret Street which was a Covid Project See you on Saturday Eltel (Terry)
  9. Do we have a list of Layouts,Traders and Demonstrators yet ? Terry
  10. There will be barriers around all of the layouts at the Stafford Exhibition in September unless a layout owner requests they would prefer not to have barriers (ie layout is operated fri. the front) Terry
  11. We will be able scan the code of your mobile phone or if you prefer you can print your ticket. Terry
  12. I took details of three layouts at the Bristol Exhibition today for future invites to our Stafford Exhibition in 2025 Eltel
  13. Well like Chris M I would agree the mix of layout and scales were good, and I have details of three that hopefully will appear at Stafford in 2025 Eltel
  14. Evening Chris I had a run behind 5199 on Wednesday afternoon. Have a good weekend Eltel
  15. The Camel Quay team will starting out at about 9.30, we are really looking forward to eventually making it to the York Show having been originally booked to appear in 2020. Hope it’s a great success for all the hard work that the exhibition team have put in to it. Terry
  16. Having been a regular visitor to the Great Dorset Steam Fair for well over 30 years, I can definitely confirm that SK has been on many of my visits to the Hornby Marquee. Also Oxford Models have been going for a long time as has Trevor from Cheltenham Models. But don’t book a date in your for regular GDSF which normally the now ends on August BH Monday . The reason being due to the high costs of putting on the event the 2023 show is not going ahead, so you will have to wait till 2024 Pity as I was looking forward to the event as the last time I was there 2019 Terry
  17. I have passed on your message to Nick as I am not involved with layout bookings.
  18. I really feel episode by episode it’s getting worse, I almost feel embarrassed watching it when other members of the family are in the room. On the positive side if it brings some new youngsters into the hobby to the aging club member in almost all clubs it will have been a success for the future of model railway clubs. let’s hope so Terry
  19. Dave, You need a ball and chain to stop Clive wandering off
