  4. Aye. Open to ideas. Javelin was just in mind as a generic type rather than a specific option.

I'll be frank here; RTR shouldn't produce these issues. However it does and I take the view that any new RTR is going to require some remedial action, regardless of how good or not it might be. I accept this because I am going to modify the gauge and other features in any case to suit my specific needs. I view a new piece of RTR as an item of raw material, much as I would with a kit. The only difference to me is the amount of work I need to do to tailor the item to my requirements.
  6. Chris; If you design a new EM chassis for the old DJH Barclay I'll happily have your babies, mate!
  7. Y'know what? I reckon that with this route restored, electrification throughout between GQS and ABD with Javelin-type units; we could easily achieve 2- hour schedules on the route. If the West Coast oil finds ever bear real fruit it would make great sense. Even without it does!
  8. Not quite, Professor. It's a long shot but it might just work. Z

Have they had their tea yet?

  9. ScR modeller may well be aware that Eastfield had a handful of these Locos up until 1958. Whilst not a signature type it's still useful within that context.
  10. I reckon somebody should do a book about the last pocket of Lenz-geared D49/2s based at Harrogate's depot. They could call it... STARBECK: THE FINAL HUNT YEARS....

I had something in mind about beds and couldn't sleep too... then again, I like it.

  16. I expect it would be a 2 rather than a 2a; the latter were AB only as far as I'm aware.
  17. SAD's not anything like as bad as last year but it's still a bit crap when you get it!

Running some of your locos on Wharfeside with the curtains open at the club might help, afternoons only of-course.

  18. Delivering prescriptions to pensioners in various states of health these days appears to have given me a pretty indestructible immune system over the last couple of months - touch wood! Getting to bed and up again at civilised times now helps a great deal too. It's kinda nice waking up when your body's ready to wake now. I do have more interesting and sometimes downright odd dreams before I wake though, as the brain starts to crank up.Tuesday morning for example (and this is a first!), I dreamt I was David Bowie, singing 'Fashion' to a stadium crowd. Absolutely no idea where that came from as I hadn't been listening to Bowie on Monday night. Guess what I had for an earworm all day? In all fairness, I rather enjoyed having this particular one though! :-)
  19. Still got my kit and etches here, John. Sounds like I may be dusting them off sometime soon!
  20. Johann Johannson - The Miners Hymns. Wow, what a powerful and emotional listen!

  21. That is absolutely bonny. Thanks for the images, Andy. Must try to find an image of the Baird loco.
  22. Sunday night just wouldn't be Sunday night without The Freakzone.

  23. There was I about to take my four-legged friend out for her evening walk and it's started precipitating down. If I could see the sky I imagine there would cloud cover towards the thick end of the Okta scale. Seems I've missed rather a lot!
