  1. The latest edition of Engine Shed has been posted on the Hornby website. Features this month include updates and painted samples on the forthcoming TTA tank wagon, newly arrived HD models in the form of Merchant Navy Lamport and Holt Line and the A4 Gannet. https://uk.Hornby.com/community/blog-and-news/engine-shed/come-oil-ye-faithful
  2. Oh I don't know, they've actually been pretty good over the years. An example of this being the mazak rot on the 31's. They were still offering a new chassis, or if the rot was terminal, a £100 Hornby voucher for old models for what seemed an enternity!
  3. Think MC C said noon today for the announcement!
  4. Just received my SNG this afternoon and Wow what a model! Runs smoothly straight out of the box, no damage, flaws in the paint work or bits falling off. Additionally, the packaging is so much better than before. I must say I approve of the BR Brunswick green, new close coupled tender drawbar, flickering firebox and the painted crew in the accessory pack. I can now confidently look forward to Union of SA and Dwight D Eisenhower arriving. Well done Hornby on a marvelous model, please keep it up!
  5. But the 8F will sell unlike some obscure loco from the past. The re-released Hornby item is well past its sell by date mechanically and detail wise. Additionally, so many variations, not forgetting those that went overseas as WD stock!
  6. If it's an LMS loco, one that's sure to fly of the shelves is a Stanier 8F!
  7. As much as I tried and bearing in mind I don't model the GE, I resisted until I saw the rather lovely 68619. Well done all at Accurascale!
  8. Apart from the window frames, overscale bogie attachments and bogie ride height. I'm aware that KR models are doing a brand new version, but I'd rather it was Accurascale!
  9. The previous HD Airsmooth Merchant Navy class variants of General Steam Navigation and Elder Fyfes were excellent models. As for the discount, this is the maximum permitted percentage of 10% as allowed by Hornby for new releases. IMO, you really can't compare these beauties with the inaccurate Wrenn Railways offering, which are now 40+ years old. I have no reason to suspect that Lamport and Holt line will be any different!
  10. Considering he's only been trading in this company name since the 13th of January this year, over 2700 reviews seems somewhat suspicious. N.B. Canns models also had good reviews prior to going rogue!
  11. Apologies, yes it is hobbyshop22ltd rather than modelshop22ltd. Duly corrected!
  12. If anyone is thinking of bidding/buying items from this trader beware, as he is the former owner of Canns models of Okehampton, one Adam Cann. He has reincarnated this company under the name of hobbyshop22ltd. People ordered items online which never arrived, no response for refunds etc.
  13. An Accurascale Black 5 ready for the market before the Hornby variant (Winter 24/25) would really bring the pains on at Margate Phil!
  14. I'll have to make do with this tonight 😗 Cheers 🍻🍻
  15. Who knows? I'd really want to see some pictures before committing to buy!
  16. KR models announced the Type 4/Class 40 at Warley last year!
  17. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a reworked EE Type 4/Class 40.
  18. January edition is up for all who's interested - EP's of the B17/5.... https://uk.Hornby.com/community/blog-and-news/engine-shed/down-range
  19. But why on earth would Hornby produce one HD A4 SNG with an upgraded wheelset and another, the GG A4 variants with the previous incarnation components? Sorry, but to do otherwise doesn't make any commercial sense! The changes I refer to are being introduced on some existing locos such as the 2022 main range A4 Golden Fleece. Maybe the new 2022/23 models will all be available with a LED glowing firebox as has happened with the current A1/A3 offering?
  20. Maybe a pre-order on the A1 at RRP with Hornby is in order? In my experience, they do honour pre orders and you would therefore lock it in at the current price point.
