  1. Or how about respecting the fact that others have the right to a different opinion than yourself? I'm of the view that RMweb members have posted genuine and constructive criticism in relation to the current format of the Engine Shed blog. The fact is, it really isn't as good as when Islesey produced it !
  2. Someone else is using the same tactic. They have a Hornby A3 FS which is quite obviously the old model, but refer to it as R3991, which is the new 2022 version with the metal running plate. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165445604603?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=qUt5b6dfTDS&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=cpI7ZCISRXe&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  3. A newly tooled version of the Duke to the same standard as the P2. I've got a feeling this will happen soon !
  4. "I'd like to hope that the Purple One is the swansong for the Rebuilt WC and that an upgraded one will be along shortly". Surely the airsmooth West Country/B of B class is more in need of a retool than the rebuilt version, which IMHO actually still holds up quite well?
  5. Add an updated airsmooth WC/ BoB class to that list.
  6. "Hornby Black 5s are not all that bad". Surely if Hornby thought the same they wouldn't be spending time, effort and a considerable amount of money on what has been described as the "Ultimate Black Five" ?
  7. I've not seen them in the flesh as yet, however Kernow models have some good stock photographs of the new A1 and A3s on their website.
  8. Did you by any chance receive a response from Hornby on the crest issue?
  9. Oxford Rail are to provide updates in May apparently which should reveal all. Bearing in mind we're still waiting for the other previously announced J class and the breakdown cranes, time will tell whether these are simply incorporated into the mainstream Hornby range as happened to the building range models.
  10. Depends who you ask I'm afraid. Some outlets say anytime between April-June this year, others however quote Q3 of 2022. Will Dapol beat Accurascale bringing their Manor to the market I wonder? Looking forward to receiving both!
  11. Sorry but Trading Standards/Police need to be aware of people like Mr Cann, who knowingly fraudulently obtain money and don't deliver the goods. Criminal proceedings for offences under the Fraud Act/Theft act are appropriate in this case. In addition to Section 75 protection, banks and credit card companies can and frequently use chargeback for purchases made on cards over £10 and under £100 in value.
  12. tradingstandards@devon.gov.uk and online crime reporting go to https://www.devon-cornwall.police.uk
  13. Tim, You'd be wasting your time calling the mobile number, it goes straight to voicemail as does the landline number. Mr Canns absolute silence on this speaks volumes. Best redress as you say is with the credit card company and Devon Trading Standards. Good luck !
  14. Cann models were an accredited stockist of Accurascale, who I would have thought would have done the necessary checks with Companies House before supplying them.
  15. FYI, Devon and Cornwall Police and Trading Standards are looking at Mr Cann.
  16. Because up until recently and according to available reviews, Cann models had delivered goods promptly as ordered. Accurascale for instance, even had them listed as an authorised dealership for their range ! The sole director of this company is listed as active with Companies House. TBH, I've had some excellent bargains from some smaller one man outlets, who's service has been excellent.
  17. If it's over £10 but under £100 card providers can use chargeback for non delivery of items.
  18. Pretty much I'm afraid to say. This trader sent an email out with my regard to my order that it was completed, but with no details of posting, tracking etc. He isn't responding to emails, taking calls or responding to telephone messages and hasn't done for some days. His Facebook account has been deleted and a Google search reveals a marker stating "Permanently Closed", so you can draw your own conclusions. I've spoken to Visa this morning and they were very helpful. I'd report it to your card provider and trading standards asap as I have done. Good luck !
  19. Anyone who's been affected by this trader, Trading Standards Devon will be most interested to hear from you on this link :- tradingstandards@devon.gov.uk
  20. Keep on trying Buddy. Fran will have to give in eventually to us Class 40 boys lol !
  21. This is precisely why I'm now extremely selective with regards to Hornby products. Having had a similar experience with H, the item purchased if faulty is returned for a full refund. This is the only way QC will improve. After all, these models are not exactly being given away and when you look at some new manufacturers, the customer experience from Hornby leaves a lot to be desired.
  22. I did wonder about that question, but didn't receive a reply from Hornby. Hopefully you will have more luck than I have in receiving an appropriate response.
  23. An EWS version would also be quite welcome. I believe this variant has just been announced Dapols N gauge range. Fingers crossed !
  24. "I wonder why they are rushing the Manor so much"... I would think to get it released before the Accurascale version hits the shelves. Both are shaping up to be fine looking models !
