Also. . Unplug the track power lead from the back of the Z21 ( the small green connector?) And see if you still get a Red flashing light, just in case you are getting a short from this lead at the back of the Z21 in some way.

Yes people order direct from Accurascale. Accurascale sold out of thier allocation and have Actively directed customers to place orders with thier network of dealers who may still have had pre order stock available. Hornby on the other hand 1) wont tell anyone which of thier dealers are tier one so MIGHT have had a chance of stock 2) DRASTICALLY cut allocations of stock for orders ALREADY accepted from those dealers And yet they are STILL accepting direct pre orders for the very same items Do you really find that kind of behaviour in any way acceptable ? I'm sorry but I think the excuse given by Hornby will be taken with a very large pinch of Salt by most who read it

Just an observation on the duplication? Wasn't it mentioned that Bachmann started work on thier upgraded model 4 ish years ago ? But only recently published the information on WHAT was coming (in some cases just before the imminent arrival of) So quite possibly some variants will have been well down the design/ production process when Accurascale anounced THIER models, and beyond an economical time for a change. I've not gone back to check details from the various threads so could well be wrong though 🤓 I'm sure it well might have been discussed, and a decision made to simply go ahead ? They will almost certainly sell anyway. I'm not talking about Price/ quality/ features/ availability etc, Simply about the impression being given that Bachmann are somehow playing catchup and duplicating, rather than it simply being both manufacturers developing the same model. . Without knowledge of the Others Anyway, back to playing with my two Deltics ! 🤗

My gut feeling is that the silent majority wont care who does something, probably don't visit this or other forums so may be entirely unaware of the issues you and others spot ( absolutely NO slur intended in that comment) and will happily continue to go online or wander into their local model shop and buy what they see/ like/ want to run on their layouts. Accurascale are using online marketing to do presales and are also building a network of dealers/ stockists. so DO make use of online social platforms quite heavily and yes, we feel an almost 'personal' connection to them. Bachmann utilize their network of dealers to sell so probably don't put as much emphasis on online contact but I'm sure both 37's (current topic on RmWeb) have/ will sell very well. Hornby seam to be fighting a survival battle atmo and the impression given by their current actions is that they are moving away from a dealer led business model (rightly or wrongly) towards an online direct sales model, to maybe maximize profits on their investments? Maybe they see the writing on the wall and are moving away from trying to satisfy the niche, high end, accurate model market and are looking to hook into that silent majority and get them to buy direct thereby securing maximum profits for their products that traditionally went to the box shifters and/ or other retail shops. There has been quite an upsurge in recent years in online shopping and maybe they see THAT as their route to survival ? Again I say, are we but a small but vociferous Minnow in a larger (more silent) Pond ? Food for thought (OH begger just spotted a Pike heading my way !) 😆

The Rather large fly in the ointment is that they are drastically cutting shop orders, yet still taking direct Pre orders for those same models. If they were acting honerably as a SUPPLIER to thier shop outlets, they wouldn't STILL be taking direct pre orders and would use any available stock to honour and supply the orders ALREADY placed by the shops. Me thinks they are just maximizing profit at the expense of the shops TBH

Ok so test complete ! First I downloaded jmri test 5.1.2 but it wouldn't install as it needed Java 11. Tried to upgrade java through Orical but it said 8 was latest update available Went through jmri . . . Https://jmri.org/ java which gives you options to dowload java 11 from third party sites, chose the first site and dowloaded and installed ok and THEN was able to install 5.1.2 Fired up decoder pro and added Deltic D9004 ( Locksound 5 DCC chip chosen) to roster Fired up A Throttle chose D9004 and hey presto ! All 30 functions available and working This is through a Sprog III SO @Crosland your fix is working thanks ! If you are using the sprog with jmri but aren't seeing 31 function buttons available, you DO need to scroll the functions table down to see the bottom ones and if you still dont see them I would suggest possibly deleting the Deltic sound loco from the Roster and re entering it once you have upgraded the software Edit to Add. . No matter what loco I choose I now see 31 function buttons available instead of the old 28. .but you DO need to scroll down ( at least I do 😋) Sounds bloomin Awesome !!!

Ill be test running my sound loco for the first time tomorrow using Sprog 3 and jmri so ill update jmri first before putting in the roster Profile details. What decoder should I be looking for In the Decoder list ?

Tulyar arrived today from DPS to Join D9004 ( sound fitted) Quick visual check and the usual . . 1step and 2 wee bits off, one coupling detached (looks like its just unclipped but not damaged) and two chains hangin loose, detached from the body on the same side. Apart from the coupling that was sitting loose in the packaging I couldn't see any loose bits BEFORE unpacking so they were probably yanked off by me as I pulled it out. Think I will leave the bits off and probably remove and store the chains on both locos as I want to run both Locos and NOT be watching for, and faffing around re attaching tiny bits and chains 😋 Very Happy Bunny, Just need to wait till Monday when SWMBO is off into work for the day so I can test run em both in peace 🙃

Strangely enough, When I went to collect My D9004 direct from Accurascale Via DHL, At first they couldn't find it and the DHL worker said the code applied was for A large Letter so thats what she was looking for ! Anyway the Parcel from DPS turned up this morning, £4.45 postage, large letter signed for 🤣 Flimsy outer box not very well taped up but inner box fine and un damaged The postie said " what the ruddy heck is it lead weights ??" Can confirm despite final balance payment option only being for D9008 is is in fact 55015 Tulyar shipped as per the Original deposit so the note attached work fine Just need to wait till Monday when SWMBO has a day in the Office So I can test run them both in peace 🙂

Yeah thanks for that. We live out of town so our postie does his round IN a small van. He looked at the tracking number ending in GB and said yes it goes through them, is posted as a large letter, signed for so it defo should be him delivering. Posted Monday at post office 14.30 1-3 day delivery and Still not here so seams AWOL atmo 🙄

AHH ok so maybe they should change it to ' Track and trace your failed delivery' then😅 Otherwise it seams to defeat the object of ' Track and trace your parcel'. Personally I'd rather they gave me a rough idea, say a day ? When they were going to attempt delivery ? Saves me sitting here kicking my heals in the hopes that they turn up.
