AFAIU the Ads you are seeing are selected for you, by google. RmWeb just provides space for them to be displayed. Those who choose NOT to take up Platinum or Gold membership, support the COST of running RmWeb by seeing GOOGLE supplied Adverts. Your ire should therefore be directed at google, not RMWeb who are simply trying to cover the cost of hosting this Forum.

I thought this was for expressions of interest ? Not for expressions of how terrible it will be in YOUR humble opinions ? For goodness sake say yes/ interested or No/ not interested and then at least wait till there is actually something to see before ripping it/ them apart

For those leary of soldering very small wires I found the above kit very useful. Mainly used for crimping two or three dropper wires together and then screwing the ferule into a choc block. You can use it to crimp realy quite fine wires into the smallest ferule and then crimp THAT ferule into a larger ferule (think russian dolls) this gives you a more robust connection. The ferules are quite robust and this method works well for multi strand wires as it eliminates the problem of the wires splaying out as you tighten the choc block screw, giving poor contact. My go to tool when wiring around the layout now

Teh Mrs has developed a bad back ( aww shame I hear you say) but today it's feeling just a LITTLE better, good enough that she can potter out into the garden and supervise operations as yours truly cuts back her now gone over pots of stuff and lifts said ( blurry heavy) pots and stores them away in the greenhouse for the winter. Followed by lots more indistinguishable mutterings, is a scene recenacted in many points around the country and is part and parcel of Railway Modeling 🤬 🤗

Without watching the video. . . OoBill ( I recognise the towel, long fingers and hairy arms ! Get past the ' dour Scotsman voice ( hes actually a great guy), lives not a million miles from me and carries out free repairs for those who cant manage it. He videos his work to show others how to do the service or repair and he is NOT monetised, doe's it cos he enjoys it. . Be warned some methods MAY make SOME wince but, he shows that it's not THAT hard and has encouraged/ enabled others to 'have a go' Doesn't do DCC and mainly older models but worth a watch, especially for those beginers with older models who don't know what to do 👌

Ahhh clever ! I see She has moved on to phase two already. The other halves have noticed the increasing lack of attention paid to thier ramblings, have 'investigated' what IT is that is holding our attention, infiltrated the site and are running a concerted campaign against us. Phase one :- infiltrate site, establish false identity and start creating chaos. Phase two :- acting 'suspicious' by quickly closing laptops or blanking phone screens to increase the paranoia. Phase three will be to ramp up acting concerned and gently suggest that " less time browsing that site" will be beneficial and some ' nice relaxing decorating/ diy' would REALLY help !!!! It's a conspiracy I tell ya !
