Head above parapet I'm really struggling/ biting my tongue atmo. Reading through various KR models threads I see the same small group posting. It brings to mind stadler and waldorf (the Muppets) KR models decided to produce models that would probably NEVER be produced by the mainstream manufactueres. OK they are pretty much a one (two) man band. They did the GT3 with ok results, they did the Fell with ok/ meh results. They got slagged for the gt3 they got megga slagged for the Fell. They stopped listening on RM Web after the GT 3. They have sold and done re runs of thousands on the GT 3 and probably will on the Fell. I don't have any, BUT they are unusual and if the opportunity arose, yes I WOULD buy one. Ok I know they didn't/ wouldn't ( or were too late to) listen to you to make that ' perfect' model and for that reason You wouldn't buy one, but ya can't LET IT GO, LET IT GO ! 🤗 Realy guys and gals. You've made your point, its/ they are not for you. Move on and enjoy life ! Ducks below parapet

For those in the know. We will be staying central Birmingham and I WAS going out to the NEC by train on Saturday and Sunday. What bus service would be my best alternative if trains are completely off ? Any advice gratefully received

Completely separate budget ! 'cough cough' and ive figured the car will be left at the Hotel for the duration. Removal of spare wheel from boot will leave a fair sized ' Stash' hole. Just need to NOT have a puncture, but ill carry one of those emergency cans anyway 🤪

Get creative. I played a cheeky one this year. As we aren't away for Christmas I said to SHMBO "we should do a trip south so we can meet up with family before Xmas". " We should go 'There' as you can visit a couple of Cathedrals and tick them off your list". " We could go 'That' weekend as I have the Friday and Monday free" Then as usual she said " Have a look and see if there is anything YOU would like to visit that weekend ?" " Oh look ! I THINK I made it quite clear that I COULD accept that Hornby had been DEVELOPING this range for a number of years ( whether 1, 3, 5, or since SK was in nappies) but I SAID if the current marketing had been in development for 5 years. . They need new marketing ! Also I asked why now and in a seaming rush. . Competition ? ( A point raised by others) Andy pointed out it could very possibly be to meet TV deadlines. . A VERY valid reason. But it's ok I give up, you keep battering away at anyone who DARES to raise a question and keep on in your belief that the ☀️ shines from Hornby's nether regions. I'll wait and see what actually gets delivered before making my mind up. I'm out of here lol

'Sigh' as I pointed out to another poster replying to my thoughts, YES five years in making i.e. designing and producing is maybe not Rushed, BUT if this LAUNCH was five years in the making then I would suggest a change of Marketing team

Not 'bringing up' simply repeating what has been said before. Cohesive range ? I seam to have read over and over about locos without relavent coaches or wagons and vice versa. Yes boxed sets that have obviously been in development for some time, but the overall launch seams. . . Rushed ! And some of the media displayed seams cobbled together from bits rather than a long planned, slick Marketing launch Just my opinion, other opinions are equally valid

(My Bold in the above quote) Just picking up your comment as a point in question. . . Is it just me. . Or does this all seam just a bit Rushed ?? It's as if something has triggered Hornby to rush to publicise this venture before it's actually ready to launch. The threat of competition maybe ? We seam to be seeing a lot of conflicting imagery showing what might or might NOT be actual prototypes or just stuff cobbled together from various sources to have SOMETHING to show on launch. I think we will have to wait and see once some actual stock hits customers to get a definative answer and I really hope we are all pleasantly surprised. IF done properly and not just thrown together it just MIGHT gather steam and prove a success. Hornby please PLEASE get it right and don't just rush to get it to market in an attempt stifle competition ??

Called up, went on first day and was picked and went into pre trial Jury selection for a fraud case ( 10 barrow loads of paperwork brought in ) Judge then postponed Jury selection till following day as SOME paperwork had been left at lawyer's offices. He dismissed us till the following day so selection could recommence but said trial would likely be six to eight weeks long as it was quite complex. He then said if this would cause anyone hardship they should remain behind and talk to the clark of works. Three of us stayed, one was due a visit to hospital for surgery so was let go, One was a business owner who said he was far too busy to waste six weeks sitting in court. He was given short shrift by the Clerk and told to attend next day. I mentioned I was self employed and had work booked in for most of the six weeks but was happy to do my duty. The Clerk asked me if I was likely to lose the work if I tried to postpone it and replied "Probably" and he told me that was fine, " Don't bother coming tomorrow but your name may go back in the pool for a shorter case" business owner was well pissed off 🤣 I never got called back even though I was more than happy to 'do my duty'

Not sure how I read this post but I really don't think, going by Hornby's past practice that any failsafe /wellbeing of the retailers factered ANYWHERE in the planning for this new range

This topic has gone round in ever decreasing circles . . BUT it HAS touched on Quantities ordered vs Quantities delivered from various factories and The Hattons Topic above has been mentioned in this topic re the same subject, as PROOF ! that a factory under delivered ( even though it now apears to be due to a missunderstanding/ error in adding up pre orders ) so Quoting THAT topic/ subject here is entirely reasonable 😋

SO yet again a possible c*&k up in ordering, rather than a factory not supplying what WAS ordered ? I've yet to see proof in any instance of a factory failing to supply a quantity that was ordered. Yet this keeps being put forward as a 'possible' reason for cancellation of pre orders

Could you please also supply your evidence that the Factory have under supplied ? Reading Hattons message it infers to me that someone added up the pre orders and realised they arent getting enough stock to fullfill all of them. I'm pretty sure they would otherwise have said " sorry guys for whatever reason we arent getting as many from the factory as we expected so we are supplying on a first ordered first served basis" which would push the blame onto the manufacturer

The only problem I forsee is that you wouldn't have access to those posts to re upload the Images. ? @AY Mod would have to set up some special/ temporary permissions to allow you or any other member prepared to carry out such work, to be able to edit other members/ ex members posts ?
