      Zero Gravitas

You could at the very least have said please...

  4. 6023 Failed on the SVR on the w/e assisted by a Class 08
  5. Hi Jonny yes it was the first tour 13th Feb 77 with D1010 on the second tour as you say D1010 failed with coolant leak to be replaced with 37179 until D1023 arrived from Old Oak.
  6. Having been on the other end of the call from the Driver that he thinks he,s hit someone or being line side looking for the body which I have done many times none of it is very pleasant believe me for anyone involved.
  7. There’s a rumour going around that all the GWR sets will get all the seating changed. Having ridden in standard and first class on these jap junks I’m not surprised the seating is like a park bench. Bring back the HST’s 100 times better than this plastic crap.
  8. It’s been said the failure is down to a lack of oil to the middle cylinder which has caused the failure. A statement made by the A1 Society on WNXX forum.
  9. Nothing wrong with a Ted it was D9520 that dragged the failure to NVR shed.
  10. When I worked at Radyr the train prepairers at the Quarry always said they saved on shunting poles and brake sticks on the Main Line freights as the Canton guards didn’t know what they were.
  11. There’s a rumour that they are having problems on the East Coast with their Jap junks as well, something to do with the pan damaging the overhead contact wire. There’s talk they need to be redesigned. Bring back the HST’s
  12. I remember it being 4 track before and when they took 2 out and now it goes back to 4 track. How long will it last this time?
  13. It's not possible to keep the station in a situation like this, with new signalling commissions you can only test signalling under wheels free ie no trains. It's not like under BR where we would be hand signalling trains those days have gone, the situation here is transferring signalling from an NX Panel to a Workstation at TVSC Didcot which has different Signalling controls to an NX Panel. ie Axle Counters replacing track circuits, interlocking is controlled by software these days and requires a lot more testing.
  14. Yes I agree, but at the time I was also a member of the NYMR but there just enjoying the gala. The NYMR has lost’d its edge for me,no Spring Steam gala this year,no more Diesel galas so the membership didn’t get renewed. If the NYMR wants to see how Diesel and Steam work together take a look at the SVR.
  15. I’ve been to NYMR a few times for Galas Steam and Diesel etc but lately I’ve found that there is a big anti Diesel air about the place. I was once told by a member of the station staff at Grosmont we hate you Diesel mob. What people got to remember is most railways have to operate both sometimes, after all the Diesels are a part of the Heritage scene and most youngsters don’t know steam.
  16. On the latest catalog from Hattons a mate of tells me it’s says release date is 2019 is this right or a printing error. Cheers Gareth
  17. Thanks Brian I haven’t seen Mr Tucker for a while he did some filming a few years ago at Radyr Quarry box with my mate he use to work with, also I went to a film show he did at Newport with a lot of the of late Bob Ransons slides. I don’t go to many shows unless they are O gauge. Cheers Gareth
