@Hroth that’s a simple work around for sure, but it doesn’t change the fact that these ‘get a room’ billets-doux push genuine public announcements off the page. It’s kinda frustrating that people continually misuse the facility. 

You would expect the UI to show the most useful, least problematic option more prominently than the less useful and more annoying option. People assume, quite rightly, that the most obvious UI is going to do the most common and least controversial thing.

And so, they stop thinking!

@truffy I wouldn't say anyone abuses the function, just not everyone realises it isn't a PM system.

Why anyone would want to put anything important there is beyond me, most of the time it is jokey stuff that perhaps wouldn't fit elsewhere on the forum, will be there for a couple of days and then be beyond the visible viewing pane and gone except for those taking part in any discussion.
