  1. Saw the Mk3 samples today and have to say they looked really good. I am sure someone will find something to comment adversely on but they looked to me better than anything we have had so far. The Dean goods was on display as well plus a sound version and that looks/sounds really impressive
  2. Actually it was a response to the post that was originally above it. That post quite obviously had nothing to do with this thread.
  3. Can we have an "I am mystified icon please"
  4. Yes the club is really good value and well worth the subscription. They have some interesting limited editions for sale as well.
  5. Sad to say I decided to join in the last week or so. I paid my £20 and registered and have discovered that the £20 voucher that I could use against club exclusives was useless as out of 7 items only 2 are available and they are the 2 0-4-0 locos. The club exclusive 2016 wagon suddenly sold out and is now on Hattons website for £7 as against £14.99. The 10% discount means nothing as prices from discount retailers still work out less that the Hornby discount and I'm not just talking of the bargain sales at Hattons, Rails and Kernow. I emailed Hornby and highlighted these issues asking for a £20 refund and they apologised and refunded my money. A great disappointment even if the magazine is a great improvement.
  6. I actually changed my mind about the model and my need of it. I did consider completing the purchase and selling it on Ebay and I probably could have made some money. However I emailed Locomotion to see if I could cancel and get a refund of my £50 and they were only too happy to do that as they said they had a waiting list just in case there were others like me. It was dealt with promptly and I had my refund in a matter of days. I have no problem though with people who choose to sell on Ebay. We do do not know if they have a change of circumstances or if they bought them to sell specifically .If they did good luck to them they increased the sales for Locomotion and boosted Rapido profits so that they will be more confident in the future of doing something similar.GT3 anyone ? Now I wouldn't cancel that.
  7. He's solved Hornbys financial problems single handedly.
  8. Are they working on the basis that another manufacturer is doing the prototype HST and perhaps not the coaches. If so it's good of them to ask.
  9. They have website which doesn't say a lot , however what about ANE decoders. These seem to have sprung up on eBay as well as with a dealer.Do we think these decoders may also be a bit dodgy ?
  10. Would they have had red rear lights when running ?
  11. Is it a silly question to ask if they can be reblown ?
  12. Checked yesterday, ordered as soon as Kernow allowed it was12/06/2010
  13. Just read the latest blog from Hornby and it is good. Nice to see them upping their game and giving us more information. Its good to have better understanding of the development process.
  14. Great Model .Received mine this morning and have just tested it.It is a class apart.
  15. They had 7 TTS class 37s' last week but by the time I went to order one (5mins) they were out of stock. They are down as on order and they emailed to say they would have them sometime in about the next 4 weeks. Most dealers seem to have had small amounts of these so perhaps that is the problem.I usually find Hattons have stock before a lot of other shops.
  16. If you can't get your hands on one you could always buy the empty box on the auction site we all know so well - £4.95 +£3.75 postage !!!!
  17. According to Kevin Robertsons book the WR sets did commence in September 1960 but he indicates that the South Wales Pullman didn't start at the same time so that could be where the discrepancy occurs.
  18. Some on Ebay and Hattons have the version with yellow ends at £290.I'm sure some have bought these and painted them.
  19. Ordered a few items yesterday at about 1500 and they arrived here in less than sunny Swansea by 0930 today . Great service from our Celtic cousins.
  20. Hornby do really corner the market in Pullmans and not too long to wait so it seems.
  21. I think the manufacturing difference here between Bachmann and Oxford Rail is the fact that Oxford are quoted as having their own manufacturing facility in China but Bachmann are a company owned by Kader and they have to dance to the Kader tune.
  22. Well the company are listed as being in Swansea so I would sayYes.
  23. Its working for me. The other site originally Ben Fishers site hasn't been updated since June 19th though.
