  1. Well there's a benchmark for these. 12 coaches at an average speed of 37mph...
  2. Speaking of diesel shunters, Hunslet 5511 would be interesting as one of the prototypes, alongside around 60 production variants produced, could be interesting to look at? https://www.flickr.com/photos/scubatrack/25382836383
  3. Of course a lot of this is assuming there is an Accurascale announcement for Ally Pally......
  4. If it were a kettle, a Stanier 8F would make some sense given the 16 ton mineral wagons, but I do wonder if it's more likely we'll see a new coach tooling announced or, possibly more likely, wagons...
  5. I would say it is viable, if small classes generally are viable (looking at the P class and the like). The Taff Vale O1 and O2 have the advantage of each having preserved examples, both of which are very popular locos, so from that perspective it should be fine. I think the market is there, for at least a small number of prototypes, so why not? We are seeing some infiltration of the Rhymney and Taff Vale in RTR albeit as more generic liveries on wagons from Rapido, so there is clearly some demand for these companies.
  6. As @The Johnster says there were some close links between various pregrouping Welsh railways. Of course it all depends on which railway, but given the Taff Vale was only a year younger than the Great Western Railway, it could be argued that models of TVR locos are long overdue, same with the Rhymney Railway. Something like the TVR O1, O2, U, and U1 could work (given they shared a number of parts between them I believe), and maybe the Rhymeny R Class, as the direct predecessor to the 56xx.
  7. As @Flying Pig says, Planet Industrials did, however more my main point on the matter is if compared to the Scottish pregrouping scene there is a lacking of motive power available ready to run when it comes to prototypes from the likes of the Taff Vale. And in regards to the Taff Vale, the TVR A Class could be one of the most interesting, and versatile locos given the number of class members (58 and some lasted till 1957)... Though it might be better to stick to the TVR O1 and O2 classes given both have preserved examples available.
  8. Either one would be cool, there is a lack of anything pregrouping from Wales, and comparatively speaking, Scottish pregrouping gets a lot of attention. If I remember correctly the O2 also takes parts from the TVR U or U1...
  9. Taff Vale Railway O1 could be interesting to see, given it would be the only Welsh pregrouping loco done in 00 gauge ready to run... You've got Swindonised variants as well as the possibility for one in NCB condition.
  10. A new GWR Saint or Hawksworth County could be interesting to see (or both)...
  11. I would say I would like to see 37023 in it's BR Large Logo Blue guise (given that is the livery it is being restored to currently, from what I understand), but on a new tooling front, 16" Bagnalls, and the 0-6-0ST 14" Cylinder Barclays (like Llantarnam Abbey and Horden) would be good to see... An industrial diesel shuntr could also be quite interesting, something like the 0-4-0 Hudswell Clarkes like 1387.
  12. Brilliant news!!! Great to see the Barclays live on, one question I do have is in future runs will there be a spec upgrade? Just wondering if replacing the 6 pin socket might be looked into for example, as it is a bit of a pain to fit a decoder to the current iteration. Either way, can't wait to see how this develops!
  13. According to KR Models, Bellerophon is now awaiting production.
  14. Either way, GWR Wartime black would be a fun livery to see from this tooling suite. Given it is also the most versatile tooling suite of these locomotives, I'm sure some as preserved locos using the LT cabs, and other tooling aspects, could potentially sell well, such as 5764 or 5786...
  15. Yes!!!! Whilst it's not the most painful livery to recreate, it would certainly be good to see rtr from this tooling, and others...
  16. Going to put another request in for GWR Sunshine stock and other pre-war GWR coaches... In regards to multiple units, I wouldn't mind a 116 or 115 in 00, but they're not my absolute priority currently. I'm not going to comment on price as I am a firm believer in seeing the specs, CADS or EPs, and other things before deciding to buy a model.
  17. Has to be said that younger modellers, with whom I have had interactions with, tend to be varied, wide variety of eras, etc. Many still going for the 1960s, some for anything pre-BR, some doing the aformetioned Blue and Grey period, and some going for Preservation themes, I do believe however it is not something that one can answer fully from one's own interactions alone, and that some fairly detailed research may well need to be conducted to see whether or not there is a general trend amongst modellers modelling certain periods etc.
  18. Something small to go with the Chaldrons this year? Or maybe something slightly bigger... Avonside B3s look good, as do the 10" cylinder Barclays (think it's 10") such as AB 1219... Then again the 14" cylinder Andrew Barclay 0-6-0s would go well with the rest of the Powering Britain range as well...
  19. I have to say it is a real shame that Hattons are going, I echo the comments made by others in wishing all Hatton's staff the best going forward. Whilst I haven't used Hattons that much, they have always been a very reliable retailer. Was not something I was expecting per sey, but as the saying goes all good things come to an end. I do wonder what will be happening to the Hattons Originals toolings, as things such as the Barclays and Genesis coaches are well worth buying, I do hope someone has acquired said toolings and will keep them available to the market. Either way, it appears the sun is now setting on another chapter in the model railway world, and it is time to move on. Again many thanks to everyone at Hattons for their many years of service to our hobby, and I do hope all goes well for you going forward.
  20. As it is included within the tooling suite I would fully expect it to either feature in this batch as an AccuraExclusive, or feature in a future run, with there being plenty of interest no doubt, and if Accurascale wished I'm guessing they could do the ex-LT, preservation era liveried variants.
  21. Looks like a really smooth running loco... Not too fast either which is nice.
  22. Have to say the thing that stood out for me was the FR A5, more specifically due to FR20.
  23. The initial announcement did say that there is provision for the LT examples are included within the tooling.
