    Or my daughter's Oreo!
  3. Under promise and over deliver! He said that the Easterner set would arrive towards the end of January, let's hope that is the same!! 😉
  4. Can't argue with that, England had two penalties caused by France's ability to hack the player down before they had chance to score! 😉
  5. We intend to be in a pub... That doesn't have a TV screen! Hoping to have a quiet pint or two!
  6. Did he base it on any particular station or is it just generic, anyone know?
  7. You could ask on here, as they seem to have created a massive thread discussing it I'm sure they'll tell you, or as Jason says below it's simply to allow you to run more trains realistically on a layout the same size as a country branch terminal!
  8. Based on a trip in freezing weather the mpg was down about 10%, certainly not 10mpg which would be 25%. But I suppose all cars are different no matter what they are powered by!
  9. Somewhere on the 135 pages we discussed this before, Hornby would have to pay (the NRM?) some monies if they used the Flying Scotsman name, hence the name the "Scotsman", nearly there, but not quite! The Harrogate Pullman (later Queen of Scots) would be the closest, at least on the lower half of the ECML... Bit of modeller's imagination in use by Hornby to sell the set! Perhaps inspired by this, though not in BR colours, though the Harrogate Pullman does go back to 1923, so could have been hauled by Blink Bonny at some point in the 1930s!
  10. If they did that we'd be inundated with even more posts moaning that they had nothing to run on it! Damned if they do, damned if they don't... ;)
  11. Had a couple of 1.6s, a GL and an L, lovely cars to drive. Very rare nowadays in basic form, though.
  12. But what is right? Fine when it leaves the works, but after that the colour changes as it gets dirty, also as i said different lighting conditions can affect what we see, not to mention dirt, even after a wash the colour can change! Also if different coloured undercoats are used by different paint shops the top colour can change. Unlike you I wouldn't know what the exact colour is anyhow, I just look at it and if it looks ok then fine, subtle shades would be lost on me! If you want it perfect then that's fine, that's your choice, but it isn't mine and never will be. My TT layout will be based in the mid/late 60s when cleaning wasn't done very much, as an example whilst the Brits and Jubs were painted green what i saw as a kid certainly wasn't what I see on a pristine model. We all have different priorities, I'd avoid any of my layouts if i were you!
  13. I'm never too worried about colour, in real life they get dirty very quickly and colour varies a great deal depending on lighting conditions. I have a set of photos of a Czech narrow gauge diesel that is actually painted in purple but the photos show it from purple through to pink! As long as it looks ok that is enough for me.
  14. 1. Nope and I haven't bothered looking (though I regard battery mileage range as more important than miles/kWh - I know i shouldn't but it's the easiest way to get an idea how far the car will go and so decide whether it'll be suitable) and... 2. Those figures tend to be more reliable than range figures on the manufacturers websites...
  15. Believe me, we already are... And they are not quite there yet...
  16. I suppose there's always Land of Hope and Glory if we ignore the glory bit for the England men's football team... ;)
  17. Eh? Where?! There was some negativity from some 3mm modellers early on about the choice of scale (understandable i suppose) but in the main that's disappeared, thank goodness, but I don't remember any negativity towards the 3mm Society itself, in fact they've been referred to on several occasions as a place to get bits...
  18. The ones at Warley seemed more up to date than the ones I saw at Gaydon which lokked like tge prototypes. I wonder if they have flown some across. Very nice they looked as well. SK said the Easterner would be out by the end of January and the 08 a month or so after. Track to be released when the sets arrive.
  19. We had a dark blue one, no money and first child with all the gear you carry around. As the salesman said it had a bigger boot than a Sierra but was cheaper to run!
  20. It's perhaps worth reminding ourselves that TT is actually half way between H0 and N (1:160) and forgetting the British interlopers...
  21. And you were rude to many people to assume that all skills are able to be learned, which is belittling those who are not capable of learning those skills. Perhaps we have both been as bad as each other, time to move on?
  22. Depends on the tunnel, on a deep one it loses the signal but gets it again as you near the end.
  23. Keep digging, Reorte... To accuse me of being rude though, is laughable, pot and kettle spring to mind. It's clear you can't comprehend that some people just can't map read, but that's the case. Everyone has different skills and the way some peoples minds work mean they can't do some things but are very good at other things. Everyone is different, please just accept that. I have a superb memory for finding my way around but my wife is the opposite, that's something that can't be learned.
  24. Spoken by someone who has no problems reading a map and belittles those who can't by calling it a basic skill. How sad. It's lucky we all have different skills otherwise we wouldn't have all the benefits of the modern world. Not everyone can be good at everything.
