  1. If you search on Flickr with 'Class 117 Olympia' that returns a number of images of two-car 117s on the Kenny Belle during the mid 90s in the North London Railways era.
  2. Georgemas working ran for the first time in over three months today, one KUA and the Mk2a escorts - been a while since any of them visited. 66302/305 in charge. From Flickr (not mine) - http://www.flickr.com/photos/60956647@N02/50036615908
  3. A TPE 68 has finally appeared on a flask working, 68029 worked to Torness on Tuesday with 68018. Posted on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/24884136@N03/50012015036 Day before it was on the Russell intermodal with 68013, which is another first as far as I know. http://www.flickr.com/photos/45021513@N08/50009692022
  4. Reported that is the plan, do the driving cars first and return to the intermediates later. These have also been unveiled today if anyone wants a virus-themed reminder http://www.flickr.com/photos/141281212@N07/50005421197/
  5. Wouldn't know I'm afraid, never been. The swing bridge appears to be the favourite spot if you look at Flickr.
  6. The residents for a number of years were 03112 and 08704, both in BR green, which left in Nov 2011 and April 2012 respectively. 08507 was on hire between June 2011 and Sep 2013. 09022 and 08375 are both owned by Port of Boston Ltd, these arrived in April 2012 and July 2019.
  7. As a comparison to Paul's pic, this was painted using Railmatch BR maroon with some black added.
  8. This was its initial look when it was reinstated and used by Fragonset, a traditional shade of green, No idea of the actual shade though. It then got the jade or whatever when it was refurbished and lost the Southern fittings. Then back to the traditional green again.
  9. The emoji was meant to mean exactly the opposite and make it a light hearted comment. Sorry for any offence.
  10. The Whales suffered with bogie spring and frame problems on the Meldon runs and were transferred away in due course but the vast majority made it into privatisation so not withdrawn early per se. Similarly, the BR Walrus had the same spring trouble, both types having the plateback bogies, they too were moved to other flows eventually.
  11. Yes, a Seacow, be it the 1980s welded ones or the small batch of 1970s riveted ones, were built with air brakes and vac pipes only. Sealion were built with both air brakes and AFI vacuum brakes. If you really want confusion when Sealion lost their vacuum brakes in the 1990s they became Seacow. Whales were built new with air brakes and stayed that way.
  12. To be pedantic, Sealion is the term for a dual-braked one, Seacow is for air-braked only with or without a vacuum pipe. Walrus were vac-braked only amongst other differences.
  13. No triple grey 37s got Loadhaul logos, just three 60s. Some of the publicity material did show drawings of such a combination but that's as far as it got.
  14. 55020 was repainted in NSE in September 1987 during a visit to Doncaster. If I recall correctly, the few remaining DTS were repainted in NSE after that so blue/grey would be the better choice.
  15. As I understand it, its just having a refresh/touch up.
  16. Pics of the DRS deco samples in the new collectors club mag, do look rather good.
  17. They are self propelled for possession work but not main line transit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC8ExvAVXhQ
  18. They're KFA as that's what they are built on.
  19. 37217 was the last centre box in blue, stored in 1995. 37003 was the last split box, repainted in Dutch in early 1992. Apart from the bufferbeam cowls, also need to take into account the marker light panels, radio aerials, headlights, cantrail stripes, etc. Probably looking at 31427 and 56004 as the last of all non-celebrities in traffic, went in Feb and April 1999 respectively.
  20. Its mentioned above that the running numbers are based on info provided by GWR as of May 2019. At this time, unfortunately both GW03 and GW04 were not in their correct formations and that's were the issue has arisen. GW03 was assigned 48112 in place of 48109 between mid May and mid June 2019 as 48109 was allocated to static training duties, although it appears GW03 actually remained out of service at St Philip's Marsh throughout this time as 48112 was stopped for faults and an exam. GW03 didn't go back in traffic until 48109 was released. GW04 had 48131 in place of 48112 between early May and early August 2019 as 48112 was as above and then sat spare until 48131 needed an exam. So not a mistake, just unfortunate choice of sets and timing. In basic terms, any green power car can work with any Castle set now they all have the necessary modifications (traction interlock, door controls, etc). Blue power cars, when they were still around, could not work Castle sets, nor could 43002 and 43185.
  21. The power cars swap over regularly enough, they aren't dedicated to any sets. Those IDs for GW03 and GW04 are also not the final formations as running today, which are GW03 48109 48108 48107 49103 GW04 48112 48111 48110 49104 So if you want a current day GW04, you want to buy 48112 not 48131. 48131 has been used as a spare vehicle for some months, recently renumbered as 48130 and now in the temporary three-coach GW93. The second 48131 resides in GW10. Current formations of the whole lot, excluding GW11 which isn't yet released, are GW01 48103 48102 48101 49101 GW02 48106 48105 48104 49102 GW03 48109 48108 48107 49103 GW04 48112 48111 48110 49104 GW05 48115 48114 48113 49105 GW06 48118 48117 48116 49106 GW07 48121 48120 48119 49107 GW08 48124 48129 48122 49108 GW09 48127 48135 48125 49109 GW10 48131 48132 48128 49110 GW93 48130 48126 49112
