  1. Id like the 2 types seen at 1.50 as they are the 2 I remember the most, plus the RMC wagons at 4.00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGBRg6DQ534 Also the welded track train would be nice.
  2. Very surprised there isn't DRS liveried one through the collectors club to go with the mk2 coaches they've done, well maybe next quarter.
  3. Just come across this on Youtube with a couple of Silcock Express trains hauled by class 85 locos, I especially like the one at 1.40 with the Queen Mary Brakevan in the consist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHTZ8n8Gink
  4. A pair in Transrail would be nice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsMpOjnKdFs
  5. Class 31 would be top of my list as Hornby have done little with theirs and the 2 I have, have the dreaded rot. I like how 31128 number is different sizes would be an unusual option. Then as a long shot the Class 08 just so they can develop it to make these.
  6. Just like their TEA 100 tonne tanks, they are an outstanding wagons with my only problem being the previously mentioned loosening of the bogies, roll on Caroline, Borails & Cartics. But don't forget there are still plenty more types of Cargowaggon to make, like these 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq5pOVOAH60
  7. Just come across this on Youtube, starting with 4930 "Hagley Hall" with unknown partner pulling the GWR train, then at 2.25 92220 "Evening Star" doing the honours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfpe8ByuG98
  8. Small update from 18th December from Facebook link Salmon wagon update... First the slightly not so good news… So, the Salmon wagons are now production in China following slot delays and will be being shipped to us shortly. We had hoped that they would be with us by the end of November, however it hasn’t been possible to achieve this target, but they’re in production so light is at the end of the tunnel. Therefore the revised delivery date is early spring and we will therefore get all the replacement wagons out to our customers asap and therefore allow us to move forward. Now the even better news…. We can now reveal the first EP of our newly tooled ASF bogie with roller bearings which can be found on Salmon wagons running on the network today. The arrival of the EP came as surprise to us, which we weren’t expecting until next year. We have now been over the bogie with a fine toothcomb, including a ruler ( ha ha ) and can confirm that once a couple of small modifications have been made to stop 360 swivel and rocking, we will be able to launch these next year. More news on the running numbers will be released in the new year along with artwork. Salmon with ASF bogies

  14. 1966 is too early for under the wires, this is the history info from Wikipedia on MGR trains West Burton Power Station was used as a testing ground for the MGR system[1] but the first power station to receive its coal by MGR was Cockenzie in Scotland in 1966.[2] It was estimated at the time that the 80 MGR hoppers needed to feed Cockenzie would replace up to 1500 conventional wagons.[3] A 1.2 GW power station, such as Cockenzie, receives up to 3 million tons of coal a year, whereas a larger 2 GW plant, like West Burton, up to 5 million tons per year. By the end of 1966 there were about 900 wagons carrying 53,000 tons a week to four power stations.[4] Power stations that were built to handle the new MGR traffic were Aberthaw, Drax, Didcot, Eggborough, Ferrybridge C,[5] Fiddlers Ferry and Ratcliffe, of which only the last is still open for traffic.[6] Many of the older power stations were gradually converted to MGR operation. Merry-go-round operation was also adopted for the Immingham Bulk Terminal built in the early 1970s to supply iron ore to the Scunthorpe Steelworks from the Port of Immingham.[7]

This is a link to a picture of 3 wagons at Hamworthy. https://www.flickr.com/photos/justinfoulger/49850405228/ As for long trains of these covers I only remember them in mixed rakes maybe 3 or 4 at a time. Other than that the spa's ran in long rakes of 20+ sometimes covered in sheets sometimes not. http://www.hondawanderer.com/37229_Fiddington_1987.htm

  21. MagNem couplings were originally announced when there was only the original Hunts couplings available, naturally since then Hunts have introduced the Elite range which does the same but with one larger magnet than the 2 used in the MagNem couplings.
