It's not a 'tax', governments do that. It's a licence fee to reproduce owned assets which may either be a fixed sum or a percentage of sales. A business is unlikely to disclose the amount as there may be different agreements in place. Any monies raised by such museums go into their pot with admissions and grants and do support the running costs.

I very much doubt it and I don't understand why you think they would. They would be straight on the phone to WB and say "We thought we had an exclusive licence etc, etc'. And rightly so. So you've killed off your own viewpoint made earlier in the topic and can hopefully understand this issue, even if you have partisan inclinations.

Maybe there are hurdles even before that stage as I've had several Tier 1 retailers telling me that they've had their allocated stock quantities and the value next to TT is 0 so, at present, it seems they can't even order it which puts them in a difficult position with prospective customers. Meanwhile I see a retailer where several instances have been reported on here that money was taken but no goods received who can't be anything above a Tier 3 is advertising it for sale. Some mug will order it.
