  1. From experience here I get to see some of the rubbish and misspellings people search for on here; all the software is trying to do is find something that relates to the rubbish/miskeyed terms. It doesn't really need anything further doing.
  2. It's valid, overall, but not at all when retailers and media are told a very close date when items will be available which, subsequently, turns out, at best, to be extremely optimistic. However, when it's the same individual telling you similar things on multiple occasions, credibility for unfortunate circumstances goes right out of the window leading to a natural cynicism over anything that's presented as a fact. The boy wonder who cried wolf.
  3. Where there's a will (and a venue) there's a way. Costs are spiralling for all venues, they've all got to cover increased staff, energy and insurance costs before any of the club's variable costs come into the equation. Admission fees are consequently, and rightly, increasing - how much of an impact that has, particularly to casual local and family attendees, remains to be seen. I can understand clubs reticencr to take increased cost risks if they don't have a good following wind.
  4. I don't know if the channel give you any data on demographics Tim but Mrs Y enjoys it as much as I do. This is a rarity but she's happy to watch Portillo too - at least she doesn't complain about your dress sense. When's Siddy going to open a niche version of Tiles'r'us?
  5. Pacman clearly visible over Birmingham - https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-66670509.amp

    1. Porcy Mane

      Porcy Mane

He gets about. I saw him peeping through my windows in Durham the following night.

I was on the verge of contacting the appropriate authorities.

    2. NBL

We call one of my mates PacMan as he was jaundiced as a teen.

Takes it in good spirits though

  6. Good point; we could do with miniclays that don't look like the gear is made of Lego when suitably weathered.
  7. Good point; I withdraw any inference that it could be a good idea. But Blue would be my choice on a VoR purchase; childhood memories.
  8. Not too dissimilar to the ones they tried in the 50s? Just to give @cctransuk a bad night's kip I'd say Blue Fives would have been alright. No yellow smokebox though, just the bufferbeam.
  9. I wonder how many of these miniminerals will get made over the same period that BR took?
  10. Tough. 😁 Everyone *should* have more wagons than locos.
  11. That's the one! Thank you Gra. My addled head was convinced it was B/W (and that it was pre-TOPS). Chucked to see @Rugd1022 has posted in the Flickr comments so we're as bad as each other.
  12. Cheers Nidge. It was definitely online (not to say it wasn't nicked from a book); the one I'd got in mind was a B/W shot northbound held on what's now Platform 6 in the station. It's just to check which loco it was for modelling purposes to ensure the 'never happened' mob stay silent.
  13. @Rugd1022 - on your travels if you find the snap of the 50 on MGRs at Stafford do let us know. Have tried numerous times to find it again. It was northbound and I think it was Buildwas to Silverdale or Hem Heath empties.
  14. From conversations I have had with manufacturers and retailers analogue users are now outnumbered on the purchases of new-tooling loco products by digital users.
  15. We are NOT here for use as a bloody nuclear deterrent. Some adjustment of perspective is required. Which makes it even worse. The world does not revolve around YOU.
  16. Agreed. Can we please desist further speculation or opinion in light of this tragedy.
  17. I have made similar comment to friends, we are at a significant point. For me, however, it's not about an individual loco (although I feel Accurascale's Manor is the best 4mm steam loco we have seen) but in the rolling stock with Accurascale and Rapido producing breadth and quality to a standard significantly above others of useful pieces, not just glamorous apprentice pieces. Both Mainline and Airfix took that step forward. The longer-established names are reacting and adapting and far faster than happened 45 years ago. Interesting times.
