  1. I would definitely pick up a three pack (or two) from one or more collieries that were appropriate for my region. Whether they are colourful or not doesn't really concern me. I'd just like to be able to have multiple wagons from the same owner with different running numbers. I think this is a great suggestion. Any thoughts, Rapido UK??
  2. My primary interest is the GWR (1930s), but I have taken the view that both LMS and SR wagons are likely to be visitors to the area my layout will be based upon. So, given that these are common carrier wagons, I've ordered three of these LMS wagons. Assuming some more are available later, I will probably order two or three of them too! Not part of this thread, but when I ordered some of Rapido's PO wagons from the 1907 RCH range, I did try to pick ones that would be likely to be seen in my planned layout's area. They all look like great models and are relevant to my area, so I ordered them! I hope the LMS DIa. 1666 wagons prove to be a great success! I agree that when quality multi-colour 3D printers become mainstream we shall see an explosion of wagon models being 3d printed. No more "why aren't they producing diagram xyz... that's what I need for my layout...
  3. Assuming that these are the commercial success we all expect them to be, what are the chances of seeing future runs with the same companies but different running numbers? (Plus of course additional liveries). I suspect these will be a gift that keeps giving.
  4. Personally, I would accept that you aren't going to be able to get a certificate for that model. It's GONE... I understand that this is a bit of a shame, as you have all four Silver A4 locomotives, but only three have the certificates. It impacts the value of the complete set. If having a set with certificates is that important to you (and I get the feeling it is, as you wouldn't have started this thread otherwise), I think the only option open to you is to buy another model of the A4 missing the certificate, this time ensuring it has the certificate before you complete the transaction. Trying to 'bodge up' a certificate for the loco without one smacks of dodgyness and would probably lead any potential future buyer to question the validity of the other three.
  5. Looking forward to seeing this Magnus Opus develop Grahame!
  6. E-mail received from Hattons as well! Incoming!
  7. My two arrived on Sunday, much to my surprise (wasn't expected DHL to deliver at the weekend!). Had them out of the box today to fit Kadees and they are magnificent. Looking forward to running them on our club layout on Friday night.
  8. Well, a sound fitted loco and a couple of coaches gets you pretty close these days...
  9. Thanks! I normally use 18s, but given the coupling pockets are so near the end of the wagons wondered whether 17s might be okay... Yet to find anything that works well with 17s!
  10. You really have to model 14xx class number 1415, don't you!
  11. Love it! Looks fantastic Chris.
  12. That rope looks superb now Chris. Well done - your perseverance has paid off big-time!
  13. Some of these might help Chris: I searched for "canal narrowboats towed by horses" on Google and here is what came up.
  14. That looks fantastic Chris.
  15. Given that it can be ordered DCC sound fitted, we have to assume there are pick-ups fitted. The challenge would be passing that power through to a locomotive that was hauling it. I'm sure something could be figured out though.
  16. Perhaps a constructive message to Dapol might be in order then...
  17. Sooner or later the 14xx will come along - or maybe it will be like London buses and three will arrive at once!
  18. I've eaten it at a restaurant in Australia.. kind of a bit like chicken but I found it very rubbery... once was enough for me... Ironically, Australia is the only country in the world that cooks and eats the two animals on the national crest!
