  1. Interesting - we ended up ditching taking card payments because of the complexity of passing the PCI questionnaires - it insisted on any computers that card details were entered into were on a separate network to anything else and so on. I say ditching, we moved it all to the website and used a plugin the card provider supplies and says covers us. Curious that cheap little boxes are exempt...
  2. You can get card readers that plug into a phone line - and actually these are easier to satisfy Payment Card Industry requirements as over wifi needs decent security. Although phone lines are of course an endangered species now.
  3. I don't think I know how - but a colleague managed to delete the email server at work today (5 minutes before the hourly backup...) so I'll see if he can diversify.
  4. We have a Facebook page to tell us when the forum is down - as Facebook is now down perhaps we should host a page to tell Facebook users? Fair's fair after all https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/facebook-instagram-down-whatsapp-latest-b1932071.html Might get a few more members out of it too
  5. To be fair, Jesse has half a planet headstart. Actually, yes, very quickly indeed.
  6. So. Now you've proved this, when will you be turning your hands to a proper livery? P.s. this isn't a wishlist. It's oldfashioned straightforward begging
  7. Liverpool St had them and the cost and disruption to alter them to suit longer coaches is one of the reasons given for the former GE line to get 52'6" mainline coaches instead of the LNER standard 61'6".
  8. Look what I got today No idea what to sell mind!
  9. Maybe if I had looked up, they flew it from Docklands to East Midlands.
  10. Sounds like the job description for a 1950s town planner
  11. It's interesting that it looks like they chose to take the photos on a stony beach - it all looks like Jetsam so maybe they just found it and are chancing it (well, they are definitely chancing it!). Shame they don't have a best offer, could have some fun with it.
  12. I'll have some of what they've been smoking please.
  13. To bring it back round to railway related, the bridge under the station regularly scalps busses. Well, not so often now they've made the road only go though the middle, but still gets the odd one - https://www.heart.co.uk/essex/news/bus-crashes-chelmsford-bridge/chelmsford-bus-crash-10/
  14. Reminds me of a new housing estate near me that is accessed by a number of portals through the buildings to a central area. It was very quickly discovered once people started moving in that fully laden moving vans could get in, but when empty and the suspension less compressed....

  16. That's how I read it - the other issue is, say two people are daft enough to want one. So they both do a buy it now. And they both message the seller saying they want the same one. Whoops. Overall, 0/10 for the whole thing.
  17. Even with a police escort, surely the driver is ultimately responsible for the load? Although there would definitely have to be some questions asked about the role of the escort.
  18. We have an expanded polystyrene manufacturer in the town and for a short time they accepted old material for recycling. Didn't last long as they found it so difficult.
