  4. Hi All, Bogie 'handed' problem was noticed and reported in the Rail Express review, it was AFAIK reported back to Hornby before the article was sent for press .... Will look at seeing if anything other than Razer Saw Surgury can be done to correct them ..... The roof vents are also way too small and a vent is missing over the toilet area it should be a pair like all the other vents over the 1st Compartments..... replace with Southern Pride or MJT w/metal ones ... There is a 'rain' strip/gutter above the corridor and coach door at the toilet end of the DTC's that is not on the model ... add a piece of L angel Brass or Plastic Strip AFAIK the inner steps were removed off of most DTC,s around the same period as All MK1 coaches in line with the spread of OHL .. only the bottom one was retained ... Remove from the NSE livery one... repaint ends ... The inner gangway doors would look better in Rail Grey .. Hornby seemed to have used a white .. mind is a tad foggy here but belive they should be a grey shade.... I'll be repainting mine....... I also belive that the AWS isolation cocks and associated pipe work ( Although this Might be TPWS isolation equipment ) is missing from the buffer beam under the Drivers window and that the 'stirrup' Foot steps had been removed from most VEPs during refurbishment ... if it is AWS equipment it will need to be added .. definately if any of the TOC liveries are produced this is a vital detail piece The MBSO has the Guards 'stirrup' lower footstep missing on the non-corridor side ....... I think that I'll replace the 'weedy' Shoe fuse boxes with something from Southern Pride too..... Along with all the other previously noted mods and corrections ............ Mike.
  5. Hi Gwiwer, Yes 76275 did retain it's tungsten lights and deep fill bouncy seats to the end .. IIRC it replace the DTC after an accident, alway looked out for it at Victoria on the way home as it was a nice comfey ride back Home.. It is possible that it recieved a bogie swap to obtain the shoe gear and the height limiting bar ( Note from Cigs onwards they didn't technically have a shoe beam as we see it, the collector shoes were mounted on a 'beam' that was further inside the bogie and the bar on the outside is there to support the height limiting braket - hence the name ;o) and that is why it is also so much lighter in section as it takes no load unlike the CEPs and EPBs Beam ) , and obviously a unit power line and in line shoe fuses to allow it to supply power to the MBSO and not let the unit become a 'gapper'. The unit control lines already being there from it's days as a TC . HTH Mike P.S. I don't ever remember any TC's getting the VEpP 3 + 2 seating in them ?? which ones do you know of then ??

  7. Hi Ceptic, Nice Detail pic there .. really shows how far forward the Gangway door is mounted too B) Mike
  8. Is it that the corridor connection door is moulded on the same plane as the cab fronts, rather than being set lightly forward in the gangway, if you look at the pictures it seems that the front plane of the door lines up with the plane of the 'cowel' that sits over the body half of the Gangway connection. I could, of course be talking absolute tosh ?!? Having spent lots of time around these units in past parts of my career, I never really looked at the relationship in this area Just a though - we need someone with access to have a tape measure and a mooch really. Bit of a ###### it's just moved out of TWY. The cab front windows are definately too far inboard, but is a design feature of the model to beef up the corners and protect this area from accidental damage by the end user, who may not be that sympathetic to the 'Scale' part of the models description and just happens to be Ham Fisted ?? Again just a thought Mike
  9. Hi All, I have recieved a Progress/Update Report Email from Rail Exclusives .... http://www.railexclusive.com/index.php?category=96 Starting to look extremely good now, especially the extra work on the Bogies and a narrowing of the Tanks and Battery Boxes .. Woo Hoo !! ;D HTH Mike

  12. Hi All. To allow for those who feel that finding 'the dosh' as one lump might be a bit of a strain on their modelling budget. I noticed, and thought it worthwhile pointing out here, a small snippet from the bottom of the order sheet from Rail Exclusives. "Interest free payment plans are available to help spread the cost of your models. please telephone us for more information. A one-off £5 charge will be applied to cover the extra banking and administration costs." Might help some, give 'em a bell and ask 'em . I would say that it seems to be a positive step by Rail Exclusives is assisting purchasers in these wallet tightening times. Mike

  22. The vehicle on show was the chassis and interior and glazed EP1 shell of the Trailer Second ( or standard ) or TS. Missing were the B4 bogies and some of the u/frame detail parts as well as the roof vents and door furniture( holes in the roof and doors for positioning though ) Also on show was a Test Shot of the Refurb'd MBSO seating unit with small van area and extra seating area and a Test Shot of a MK6 Motor Bogie .. these would look stunning under a 73 too ( Ohhh please, please, Simon ) Mike
  23. Hi All, as Stu has noted the Burngullow stored tanks shown in this thread are of Nacco TEA tanks used on the Slurry flows of the past, the Dapol model is of the ICA Nacco tank. However in saying that the Burngullow pictures are a nice addition and are of a vehicle that should be on a list of future models to be produced IMHO. Please accept my thanks for posting them, Craig . Mike
  24. I did , nice work too, although I'll wait for the article as well. May I enquire as to which 'Tome' it will be gracing ??
