  1. Mick, very true mate. As for the PLPRV's AFAIK the next two are in works, one of which is 1256 and the other is 726xx ( soz .. Forgot the number ) and the last will also be from an already Yellow ex Gat-Ex vehicle IIRC. Will try to find out/confirm more. Also there is to be another UTU Vehicle ... UTU5, this will come from a Phase 2 CIG MBSO, 62287 ( Currently at the Licolnshire Wolds railway as a cafe and is being replace by in that post by 72707 from the last remain unconverted set 8303 ) As an aside ... anyone doing "Mentor" ??? Well, get your filler out again and find a pair of gangways is all I can say at the moment! Mike
  2. Hi Swifty11 It was still all coupled up and Complete at Derby on Wednesday of last week, although don't be supprised if they remove the laser drum 'Dustbin' at some point and whack it onto the end of another MK2 eventually! The current train formation ( This Week ! ) of SGT2 on 3Z01 also had UTU1 ( 62384, http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikecubberley/8513324800/in/photostream ) in it so it's possible that Ultrasonic testing and Structure gauging was going on during 3Z01's recent trip around the NW. HTH Mike EDIT :- Looking at the few "snaps" I shot through the window of a Meridian, all the lights on the end of 9708 are missing and it's looking a right state paint wise.. perhapes an overhaul is due so it might loose DC460000 and the MK1's sooner rather than later??
  3. Hi Swifty11, Yup. Mick got to see SGT2 last night which is just the two Coaches, 977985/986. 985 is the instrument coach and 986 is just a Brake Force vehicle permenatly attached with 985 to allow the train to meet the train braking regulations. 986 used to be 99664, nee 3189/6231, one of the Mars Celebrations exhibition train vehicles and is basically now just a stripped out shell inside with all the windows blanked out, the same as 99666. HTH Mike

  6. And thay will be wrong, won't they Mick .... As nearly all yellow 2d/e/f's so far have bits filled, added, taken away, added again somewhere else, taken away yet again, holes, blanking plates, added boxes, lights etc ... Glad I have a selection of detailed pics of what I want to do with my cheap 2d's . HOWEVER, having said all that, each to their own with the Ltd Ed market ... Mike

    New OO gauge Class 73

Hi Dave. I am sure you are very aware of the different aerial types on the 73/2 The Railtrack/Network Rail pair, 212 & 213, have their own extra centrally mounted ones, as well as the CSR 'pot' and circular ground plane. And all the Gat-Ex ones lost the NRN aerial for CSR 'pot' radio's .. HTH Mike.
