International N Gauge Show 2020 - Sale of Visitor List
Jonboy replied to cctransuk's topic in Exhibitions
At work we get these around twice a month for every exhibition we have attended, across two differently named business divisions. It is straight-forward fishing with you being the target. The scammers simply trawl the exhibitor lists and fire off the same type of email to all of them, in the hope someone will pay them for it. we also get paper forms in the post asking us to check details are correct and amend and fax or post back in the enclosed free post envelope back if not so. They all have missing details and small print saying your signature confirms agreement to three years of adverts at 1259 pesos or equivalent per annum, governed by Mexican law.....it would be a cynical git that simply pops back the empty envelope.... -
This made me chuckle.... https://www.news.com.au/sport/motorsport/formula-one/kimi-raikkonen-delivers-cheeky-swipe-at-lewis-hamilton-in-ig-post/news-story/9b8fe411d38917389381e3f9740251a1

Slightly confused how a circuit that apparently dates from 1974 can produce what feels like much more exciting racing that some of the newest circuits on the calendar. Surely these design processes should improve with time?

I think assuming all organisations collecting this data is a bit hopeful. My employer has no internal need for this data, so don’t collect it in line with GDPR...if we did there are likely only two of us that would be aware of of how to access it, and then not in any “forensic” manner... Then there is the point that most domestic isps don’t offer static ip addresses and the router collects a new one from a pool with every reboot.

I was just going to suggest Perez should be on @ejstubbs list above, only to find Perez out of racing point at end of season https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/54095848 to make way for Vettel...

New one on me tonight, hgv stationary in the first lane of the A34 near oxford, evidently attempting to reverse parallel park into a space between two other trucks in a lay-by, in the dark....

Nah I reckon oil slicks, sprinklers and banana skins controlled by fans through an app... seriously I don’t mind reverse grids in a multi-race event(weekend), but not for me in a single race event. It may have made sense for the second Red bull ring or Silverstone events this year.

I import a lot of similar products for work at a wholesaler. We are seeing many American suppliers struggle with social distancing type requirements in a specific, common, area of their production lines. Many of them having to close their doors for 40+ days as non essential (in some people’s opinion ) and then seeing record demand as everyone is at home hasn’t helped.... That is before you see the knock on effect from their raw materials suppliers own issues.. (no suggestions to a suitable product but some context to your issue)

Non member view and thoughts about the Gauge O guild
Jonboy replied to sir douglas's topic in Modelling musings & miscellany
we run a membership scheme at work. Streamlining renewals from anniversary of joining to fixed calendar years (new joiners pay pro-rata to the end of calendar year) saved 2/3rds of the admin time involved in the whole renewal process. Half the time saving was because we could remind all members simultaneously about renewal via mass email as well as the posted renewal. The other half was because we could batch process all the renewal work rather than a small drip feed all through the year. -
Well that was an interesting finish.....:) I noted during the podium interview that Leclerc appeared to have a plain red patch on his left arm halfway through the sponsors logo’s. Is that someone dropping through economic situation or a rat deserting a sinking ship?

Why does Bournemouth Always Feature in Lockdown Stories?
Jonboy replied to Andy Kirkham's topic in Wheeltappers
It’s the easiest “nice” beach resort to get to from here in Oxfordshire so must have a pretty wide catchment area. -
Using acrylic house paint for model trains
Jonboy replied to brian777999's topic in Weathering, Painting & Transfers
DecoArt themselves don’t recommend their product for airbrushes, for the pigment size issues Michael mentions. (It is widely done in the mixed media world, but I would think carefully about the cost of the airbrush before starting). -
It’s an import and the importer is responsible for the customs declaration being correct. I would give an honest description and the true value you paid for it. You have proof, if required of the amount paid via your bank statement or Paypal account but I wouldn’t provide anything over what they have asked, just keep it simple. (At work I deal with around 5 commercial imports a week from small parcels to 40’ containers, for each one we provide our own clearance instructions and descriptions to the clearing agent, but normally the value matches the invoices that the supplier gave the carrier). HMRC won’t likely even be aware this has been discussed...they do However enjoy auditing our consignments worth in the tens of thousands for errors...

It’s a funny one, Lewis got where he is in part thanks to a lot of hard work by his father in his early years (paying for karting etc)...was the stroll senior money earned or inherited???

I am glad we have avoided Eddie Jordan’s warbling about it so far in the channel 4 coverage....

There was a comment during last weeks highlights about the sky feed cutting off from the actionL so I wonder how limited they are in what they get footage wise.

There is (or was last year and for several years before) one in the Swindon outlet centre outside the Hornby shop.

The other one I have been seeing on work related social media is some local councils had written to shops to be aware of the potential for legionaries in water systems that had unexpectedly been unused for a number of months. Advice from different councils has apparently ranged from simply running them for 10-15 minutes and putting a cap full of bleach into toilet cisterns to full on you should get them tested....

And we are sure there is nothing to worry about if his name is mentioned three times is a row???
