  1. so which team do you want to produce yours? I think merc, but am worried about it overheating???
  2. So last night found that several pints of Ringwood brewery’s Forty Niner slipped down quite nicely last night when out for dinner with some friends.
  3. Personally I cannot stand carbonated water, makes me want to gag in normal times... do we think gargling whisky would help, i normally swear by it for normal sore throats?
  4. I had to email the management team at work a couple of weeks ago to advise a shipment had been delayed after native Americans caused damage to the train carrying the container.....part of recent oil pipeline protests in Canada...
  5. i would start with the civil contingencies act of 2004....
  6. I don’t ever recall any mention of @AY Mod and @Kenton in the same place at the same time????
  7. Can I stake a claim as potentially the oldest member never to have produced anything model wise of note....a number of false starts over the years but the practicality of a small flat with two adults always seems to dampen any enthusiasm....but I just cannot seem to escape the place.....

    Panic buying

Companies are in a funny place at the moment, if you advertise or support on social media you run the risk of people accusing you of cashing in, as an example one of the major pottery suppliers put up a post yesterday on how to extend the life of mask filters they supply (essential in certain areas of pottery) because they cannot obtain new stock and got accused of trying to cash in....if you don’t people go elsewhere for the stock on your shelf... I would echo the above Above post, put your orders in but show patience with your chosen supplier, particularly smaller firms.
  9. I do have to wonder what the sponsorship contracts with teams specify in this eventuality, do the teams still get paid or will we see any go under if to many races are affected?
  10. As mentioned a couple of pages back the Pirelli tyres and the trucks for f1 are stored here in Didcot (directly behind where the Oxford line splits for Swindon and didcot parkway curves if your interested). I did some digging and they are made in Turkey, so unless the fitters are Italian it shouldn’t impact Pirelli at all.
  11. I know the f1 Pirelli tyres are managed in a warehouse here in Didcot, I don’t know where they manufacture them though. when I had 17 pallets of stock (nothing to do with f1) collected from an Italian factory 10 days ago they asked if we had any restrictions In the uk yet....which suggests they knew something was likely.
  12. Agreed, this is always a pleasant show with a bit of a different twist, will you be sharing with the gwr society this year
  13. There was discussion on another forum I frequent in January....someone pointed out that on one route, road was around 7 hours, train 5 hours or Flybe 1 hour. There was no other competition on the route. Flybe were around £70 vs £100+ for the train....if they couldn’t capitalise on that convenience they had no hope really in my opinion.
  14. ahh the old bug or feature test...
  15. Or the Helmet Marko take on it... https://formulaspy.com/f1/helmut-marko-wants-red-bull-to-sue-the-fia-68605
  16. it may come down to the wording of terms around service charges and such that relate to joint and communal services. These can be less clear cut than the headline rent(and the only people that win from disagreements are the lawyers...).
  17. If they did it wasn’t a significant enough amount for them to register with the liquidator, who filings are in the public domain at company’s house. On the flip side credit controllers for magazines tend to be some of the most proactive in my experience (second only to hauliers)....
  18. One bit of fun in commercial leases is always service charges relating to maintaining services that are shared between tenants and/or landlord. For an example on the estate my employer have recently vacated the service charges covered road maintenance, landscaping and gardening , CCTV, security etc. The lease is vague on it and as a tenant you are at the landlords mercy to costs involved(without a tribunal if it gets out of hand). Could be the track maintenance mentioned above is deemed subject to service charge by wsr and not by the s&drt. Refuse to pay and it ends up with lawyers.
  19. Is it a technology that could filter through to road cars for improved comfort, handling and tyre wear?
  20. I would be tempted to use a third party antivirus to scan it at this point (either malwarebytes free version, or the eset free online scanner personally) to make sure its nothing that shouldn’t be there.
  21. If you go to hobbycraft be careful, the ones in the sewing department are around twice the price of the ones in the art department, but not noticeably different in use.
  22. You can get portable Bluetooth speakers with micro sd-card slots such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Anker-SoundCore-Portable-Playtime-Black/dp/B01HTH3C8S/ref=asc_df_B01HTH3C8S/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=310879851560&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10768101093779054431&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006457&hvtargid=pla-366883658870&th=1 . I haven’t used them myself so cannot comment on the quality or level of bass etc. (For me personally sound doesn’t add much appeal to a layout and isn’t something I pay any attention to at an exhibition)
  23. If a visa debit his bank may still be able to pursue a chargeback if reasonable attempts to resolve fail. If a MasterCard I would still call the bank and ask if anything can be done.
  24. mine that needed replacing were both water damage(aka dirty water between numbers and clear acrylic top that may make it hard for a speed camera to read). I personally found it easier if the garage were fitting themselves, when I bought to self fit I needed to take v5c into shop. As others have said though there are plenty of Seemingly less fussy online vendors, particularly for “non-road legal” plates from the vendors of coloured led running lights, suspension lowering kits, big exhausts etc etc.
  25. Direct fulfilment is incredibly common theses days. If the core suppliers stock levels are accurate (Normally updated once a day between supplier and wholesaler) then happy days everyone’s a winner...retailer offers a greater range without the capital tied up, supplier has a greater number of outlets to improve stock turnover and customers have more choice on where to buy. If stock is inaccurate or a sudden rush of demand occurs then delays, disappointment and refunds occur....especially if the supplier needs to identify why the stock is wrong (is it wrong or just in the wrong warehouse location!).
