Nice work Mark - one of those jobs you love getting stuck in to.
Results and pics show the enhancements nicely on the photo plank.
So what will you do about the Accurascale one...is that on the preorder list still...just to compare of course 😉

What an enjoyable read and love the way the last shot brings them all together.
Superb stuff Mikkel, not only the painting but the photography too.
Inspiring as ever...🙌

That sets it off fantastically Pete.
Many thanks Kris…16 hours ago, Mikkel said:Looks great Pete, and nice to see it from a distance a bit. With presentation and modelling like this, a diorama or two could be used for home decoration. Less maintenance than an aquarium too.
Although I prefer a warm glow for normal interior lighting, I think in this case the whiter light looks more realistic of the two.
Many thanks Mikkel. It’s now acting as a lamp in the Living room since the show! An aquarium was mentioned this weekend by someone else 😃
Yes I think I prefer the cool lighting of the two myself…

Likewise Andy - I did get to have a nice chat with Chris though and I liked his entry to the challenge competition.
Next time we will try to catch up - hopefully not at the 70 year event!…

This refurbishment of such an icon sure ooks to be coming along good to me!
Though some may say that the track looked "more realistic" before you reballasted it ;)
Many thanks LBRJ!
You mean when it was all covered in grass?!

The Great Moorswater Railway was nothing if not ambitious. Unfortunately the managers were not good with numbers and after a series of misunderstandings it ended up as the shortest but grandest railway in the world. 🙂
Good to see progress Pete, I like the truncated HST.
😂Indeed…the project managers should have seen the early warning by the building of the previous single Brunel pier!
Thanks Mikkel - I need to take my razor saw to the Dapol MkIII now as that was the original Farish one when built…🤨

Sorry, not this time Pete, I'm off to the Greek islands on Thursday. Hope that you have a great time at the show.
Alex.
No problem Alex - that does sound good - enjoy your break and maybe catch you at the (next) Platinum Jubilee then in 10 years!...

Hi Pete,
Great to see this one again. It was your model of Moorswater that led me to RMweb and the discovery of 2mmFS. Looking forward to seeing the next instalment.
Hope you and the family are keeping well.
Best regards,
Jeremy
Hi Jeremy,
All well thanks - hope you and the fam are too?
Many thanks for your kind comments. I had forgotten it was my fault that led you to redo all the track work on your Par layout.
Be nice to see that back one day too!

Looking forward to seeing you at Derby,
Why not!
The only green loco allowed would obvs be 50007 Sir Edward Elgar 😀
Likewise, look forward to catch up @ Derby Andy...

Good to see this again Pete, and glad that a reminder of your BCN years is still around. I remember the dries also, it was a great project and has not been forgotten. As for the loco, I have to agree with Nick!
Many thanks indeed Mikkel.
For the original competition I did include a photo of a GWR kettle - so the kettle box has already been ticked!
Thanks for your kind comments re the dries. I do sometimes ponder a rebuild of the layout but it would need a 4m space which I don’t have at the moment…never say never though… 🤔

Very nice work there Mark.
Have you patented the BBUSM yet? 😜

Nice work Mark,
How do you get on brush applying the Johnson’s Kleer?
Must say that photo plank was well worth building and has washed it’s face with the amount of use it’s had. Nice touch to create a scene like the loco running around the rolling stock
Now…when is that 2mm stuff going to start to grace your blogs?
-
Brave man taking that on
Am sure it’s going to be epic Mikkel. Am interested why you moved away from a compressed version? I think if you capture enough of the architectural elements you could pull it off and still have a credible model….but don’t let me try and talk you out of it
Looking forward to seeing how this evolves…

That looks fantastic Mark.
Some great improvements and nice detailed breakdown of the mods
Will look forward to see it get the Branson airbrush treatment.
What will be the fate of the Kylie Minogue CD now there is no box?

Again, nice work Mark.
Liking the suggestion for making the tarp
Any 2mm on the horizon?

Some very nice work there Mark including a detailed breakdown of the mods Good recovery work from it hitting the deck too.
One wonders where the name Kipper Wynd emanated from

HNY Mikkel!
A very engaging and enjoyable read with your usual detailed process and tenacity of great storytelling.
The result looks superb, especially the detailed luggage on top. Great tip on the fumes being able to escape from the roof too
Look forward to some more pics when it get’s positioned on Farthing. Bring on the motor bus

Looking good @bcnPete Those buildings look great. I agree fully with Mikkel's comments above.
I'm sure many China clay lines suffered creaking sleepers when 37's visited. That 37 looks great, sat in the siding at the front. I can almost hear it ticking over.......
Many thanks Marc.Am sure scaled down, the C+L trackwork breathes a sigh of relief when I remove the 37 - there’s some weight in these 7mm large locos…

Nice sharp crisp work again Graham

Aha! That substructure looks like the solution I have been looking for. Thanks as always for lots of inspiration, Pete.
And the dries look excellent. The fairly uniform (but subtly varied) colour scheme and the clean uncluttered architecture and overall look is important, I think, as it makes the limited space seem larger.
Many thanks Mikkel,I think we both have something in common with layouts overtaking our apartments!
Thanks also re the dries - there’s a way to go on it yet before I subject it to the white dust/talc but am trying to keep an overall colour balance without too much jumping out…

A Class 37 at Wenford? I can just imagine the sleepers creaking under that lot!
Good stuff.
David
Thanks David - yes the 37 is just stretching it’s legs on here until Kyle 7mm is built…for exhibitions it will be strictly the 08
Airfix Siphon H detailing. With added Conflat

How’s the 2mm workbench looking? 😉
