That sets it off fantastically Pete.

    Many thanks Kris…

Looks great Pete, and nice to see it from a distance a bit. With presentation and modelling like this, a diorama or two could be used for home decoration. Less maintenance than an aquarium too.

Although I prefer a warm glow for normal interior lighting, I think in this case the whiter light looks more realistic of the two.

Many thanks Mikkel. It’s now acting as a lamp in the Living room since the show! An aquarium was mentioned this weekend by someone else 😃

Yes I think I prefer the cool lighting of the two myself…

Good to see you at the weekend Pete, just sorry we didn't get chance for a longer chat, plus somehow I missed seeing your viaduct while flitting between operating St Ruth and trying to give Chris a chance or two to get away from Callington.

Likewise Andy - I did get to have a nice chat with Chris though and I liked his entry to the challenge competition.

Next time we will try to catch up - hopefully not at the 70 year event!…

The Great Moorswater Railway was nothing if not ambitious. Unfortunately the managers were not good with numbers and after a series of misunderstandings it ended up as the shortest but grandest railway in the world. 🙂

Good to see progress Pete, I like the truncated HST.

    😂

Indeed…the project managers should have seen the early warning by the building of the previous single Brunel pier!

Thanks Mikkel - I need to take my razor saw to the Dapol MkIII now as that was the original Farish one when built…🤨

    Hi Pete,

Great to see this one again. It was your model of Moorswater that led me to RMweb and the discovery of 2mmFS. Looking forward to seeing the next instalment.

Hope you and the family are keeping well.

    Best regards,

    Jeremy

    Hi Jeremy,

All well thanks - hope you and the fam are too?

Many thanks for your kind comments. I had forgotten it was my fault that led you to redo all the track work on your Par layout.

Be nice to see that back one day too!

Good to see this again Pete, and glad that a reminder of your BCN years is still around.  I remember the dries also, it was a great project and has not been forgotten. As for the loco, I have to agree with Nick!

    Many thanks indeed Mikkel.

For the original competition I did include a photo of a GWR kettle - so the kettle box has already been ticked!

Thanks for your kind comments re the dries. I do sometimes ponder a rebuild of the layout but it would need a 4m space which I don’t have at the moment…never say never though… 🤔

  5. HNY Mikkel!

A very engaging and enjoyable read with your usual detailed process and tenacity of great storytelling.

The result looks superb, especially the detailed luggage on top. Great tip on the fumes being able to escape from the roof too :good:

Look forward to some more pics when it get’s positioned on Farthing. Bring on the motor bus :D

Looking good @bcnPete Those buildings look great. I agree fully with Mikkel's comments above.

I'm sure many China clay lines suffered creaking sleepers when 37's visited. That 37 looks great, sat in the siding at the front. I can almost hear it ticking over.......

    Many thanks Marc.

Am sure scaled down, the C+L trackwork breathes a sigh of relief when I remove the 37 - there’s some weight in these 7mm large locos…:O

Aha! That substructure looks like the solution I have been looking for. Thanks as always for lots of inspiration, Pete.

And the dries look excellent. The fairly uniform (but subtly varied) colour scheme and the clean uncluttered architecture and overall look is important, I think, as it makes the limited space seem larger.

    Many thanks Mikkel,

I think we both have something in common with layouts overtaking our apartments!

Thanks also re the dries - there’s a way to go on it yet before I subject it to the white dust/talc but am trying to keep an overall colour balance without too much jumping out…
