  1. I guess if he's asking for money that means tooling for the 1st EP is due to start. That makes it 'level' with the accurascale, also due to start tooling.
  2. Didn't hattons have some problems with the golden arrow 71s?
  3. Hmm. I have one on order, but I'm getting increasingly tempted for more. Must avoid the ScotRail, must avoid the ScotRail, must avoid the ScotRail
  4. You could try the FGW modelling group on facebook. There are a couple there who seem to do very good resprays
  5. Strange. When a shop attempts to charge what it can (or an ebay seller), its "blatant profiteering". When Bachmann do it, its "market forces"
  6. Yes, i noticed that. To be fair to Dave, I couldn't distinguish on his 3d print whether the grilles have been moulded/printed or whether he'd just painted a smooth side black.
  7. TPE b set ordered. Very surprised at the price. Thank you!
  8. Its going to be interesting to see what speaker they package with these
  9. I might be reading this wrong, but I understood that there were no refunds from the djm 92 (or Or apt model). What I understood by the staged payments is that you were paying for the development of the model - Cad, tooling, etc. Your final payment got you the model. Its hazy to say the least. In contrast to the other guys who say to put down a deposit and pay the rest when it's done. I can understand the latter modus operandi a lot better. The second payments for djm 92 are due soon, possibly, maybe - it'll be interesting to see what happens. Going forward, I hope Dave learns from this and makes paying for his next model a dammed site clearer
  10. Almost. The pendolino was launched by a kickstarter campaign, for which a fee entails. It fell short of the numbers, just. However, when Rapidio realised that if you removed the kickstarter fee, the project was viable.
  11. The tip with Klear is true, but i think you might need to put some work in first to lessen the damage. Fine abrasive pads (3000+) are available. Oral B toothpaste is the most abrasive. Klear works, but make sure you get the stuff that is clear and not milky or yellow
  12. I really don't know what you're upset about. 48 hours ago, you were quite happy to have your DJM 92. Nothing has changed since then to affect this - the model is still going ahead.
  13. Well, its like this. They wanted to make the Mk5 coaches to go with the Class 68. Caledonian said you can only do this if you make a matching Class 92. As RevolutioN trains were making an N scale 92, seems they got together and pooled resources. The alternative would seem to be no Mk5 stock. As for the 'crowdfunding' argument, i have some truck with this. My understanding with crowd funding was that pledges were sought and only when a specific amount was reached, the project went ahead. The DJM model seems to be more of a straightforward investment - putting money down and hoping for a return. Like all investments, sometimes it might not work out. You took the risk rather than the manufacturer.
  14. There are details on his website. https://djmodels.co.uk/oo-gauge-class-92-status-update
  15. Had a bit of a smile to myself when I saw this news. For the last few days, Facebook forums have been awash with Dapols TPE 68, all with nothing to pull. Fast forward a few days....... With the Dapols TPE 68 now selling out in some places, seems the chaps are Accurascale are going to be well blessed with pre orders. Congratulations, I hope these and the 92 will be a success for you.
  16. According to the previous posts, 2nd payments due in 6 weeks time. That's going to be interesting. Same amount as a deposit on the Accurascale, which isn't crowdfunded and the specs are listed. Stick or twist eh?
  17. I'll get me popcorn ready for the inevitable forthcoming posts in this thread
  18. Agree. I'm pondering a new controller. I've had the lenz set for over a decade. I wish they could have taken the opportunity to make it a more modern.
