  1. I think he's doing it for the 'clicks'. Surfing on Sam's Trains' succes maybe? Seems to me he never had a lot of views, until he started bashing some Hornby and Bachmann products.
  2. Nah, should've been N! 😄

    TT120: HST

Can a correct rake be made? Or is it like the Pullmans, only a couple of versions?
  5. It seems thé 'Easterner' won't come back. One LNER Pacific less.
  6. I bought Hermit and a TXS decoder for about €10 more than Hornby asks for that. And for a little over half this price, you van buy a Railroad Deltic or a 47 with TXS. Do these FS really sell, at that price?
  7. Was profile SD500 (FS E656) mentioned before? Looks like the first non-UK profile.
  8. I'll survive, but it was the last shop where EU-residents could shop without extra tax/customs etc. Now it's more Modelbahnunion for me, or straight from the respective sources.
  9. Thanks David, I should've said Rule #1, I just wanted it to do a couple of rounds with a Pullman rake, while Hermit was running in with Thane's tender. Did any of the P2's ever use a GNR tender?
  10. Warning for those who like to 'tenderswap'. While it's not a problem between the new P2's, or between the new(er) A1/A3's, you can't between a A1 and a P2, because the wiring is not the same. It shorts. So no GNR tender on Thane of Fife. And running in Hermit will have to wait too.
  11. So, that's it, the trunk is empty, for the very last time. The mails from AS have also arrived in the mean time, with the pre-orders taken over. They will be missed, but it's only a minor inconvenience, it's a hobby after all. I hope all the friendly staff will find a new future elsewhere, for them it was their income. Thank you for everything!
  12. I got the second to last. Two of them. And had my trunk send now, for the very last time. Very happy that in one of the last pre-owned hauls I could complete my Queen of Scots rake and find a Gresley teak. Trunk, Wishlist, daily pre-owned mails, Hattons own products... All will be truly missed! Most of all the People, always had superb service from them!
  13. Modelbahn Union has it for €134/£114 at the moment. Without sauerkraut I'm afraid. Gannet is also available for €197/£169.
  14. So, duplication is good, only not when it's Hornby? I'd rather see AS and EC make unique models, like the WD or J69. I have a couple of P2's, have seen the 9f and 2MT, I don't think they're half bad. Must just be me.
  15. z21 is the starter version, Z21 the pro. If your layout isn't too large or complex, the z21 is the one to go. https://www.z21.eu/en/z21-system/the-models
  16. Good enough for me, I'll have one, thank you please!
  17. Easy: count the customers who buy one of the 'often bought together' suggestions! No idea what the algoritme is behind that, but at least they got the scale right with me
  18. See the Next post, Porfuera did it better. The new Train Terminal is online. Apart from the green 08 and the added sound versions, nothing new. Maybe of interest is the following: Quick Model Updates The final samples of the Class 43 HST units have been approved and are in full production. The Class 50 locomotives, Mk2 and Mk3 coaches are also in full production. Look out for next month's Train Terminal where we'll showcase an exciting development sample you've all been waiting for. Don't miss out! And stay tuned for the Hornby TT:120 Range Launch in April 2024…
  19. I think the Q&A was, apart from the sound problems, quite interesting. Not afraid to name AS (and their chaldrons) a couple of times, even mentioning some sort of cooperation/shared interest for the couplings in Era 1 models. The limitations of the Era system were mentioned, too. Die those complaining about generic 0-4-0, the new one for starters they were working on, isn't burried. No idea about the class, don't think that was mentioned. The Locomotion and Flirt looked good too. The new range can be a bit underwelming for now ( it got two Loco pre-orders out of me however), but it seems they aim to reveal new models when they have at least something to show for. And more will be revealed during the year. For an old naval hand like me, it feels like this big tanker (don't have aircraft carriers in the Belgian Navy) is starting to alter it's course. Not yet on the new track yet, but getting there. Now on to april, and see if TT120 is more than a one-trick pony.
  20. Yes, because they're still up!
  21. You can look for those in a Google search, and then create a stock alert if you wish to. https://uk.Hornby.com/products/lner-coronation-open-third-kitchen-third-articulated-coach-pack-era-3-r40225
  22. I was wondering, is a bodyswap between a Bugatti without SG and a 2002/2007 with one possible?
  23. I have decoupled all three of the tenders of the loco's with new couplings a couple of times (for the moment only one has a decoder) to run in and do rounds under the christmas tree. Not a single hickup, goes very easy. It's very unfortunate that the quality of some isn't the best, but IMHO it's far ahead of the plug and bar. Even with using the special tool, quite often I had to fix loose wires.
  24. Isn't the current Hornby Dublo SNG like she is today? Or at least 10 years ago. I don't know if she changed since then.
