  1. A bit strange that only the taillight will be conteolable by DC and DCC, I hope the front lamps aren't permanently on on DCC.
  2. I quite like the J15's, but why they made 4 LNER versions of these, and not a single LNER version of the J36 (only a L&NER one) is really strange. I have a early BR one of the later to renumber, but I'm afraid to tackle the numberplate on the smokebox.
  3. Sorry if this has been discussies before, but couldn't find anything about it, maybe I don't use the correct terminology. I have a LNER C1, haven't run it in a while, and I saw that one of the plastic center Parts of a tender axle was Broken. Is there a good replacement or alternative for these? The Loco is really nice, runs great but I think it's let down by this strange arrangement.
  4. I also have more than I realy need, and it started with a Rails weathered, brand new Sir M. Wilson, for £100! How do they compare to the real steam or Black Label versions, aren't these more recent?
  5. Everything Michanglais said. Very pleased customer of MBU, highly recommended. Fast and well packed delivery, two days from Germany to Belgium, and good support. Keep an eye on the side for other good deals, like their steam week. Next on the list for me will be a couple of the recent Gresley teaks, (£41!).
  6. I have a Hornby wartime black A4, and a Q6, both weathered by Rails. It's not bad, but it is basic, only sooth and a bit of grime, no rust or lime for contrast on these black loco's. They were however good as a starting point for me. The biggest disadvantage was the lack of real coal. This meant that you had to weather the tender under the plastic load yourself before adding some real coal, so still out with the airbrush for a very small area. If you combine it with some other weathering works, that's fine. I'll have a look if I can find some pics.
  7. For those on the right side driving side (for Cars, not always for trains) of the channel, Modelbahnunion sells TXS decoders (18 and 21) for €50, about £44 in Albion coins. It's a temporary offer! https://www.modellbahnunion.com/Spur-H0/Digital-Sounddecoder-HM7000-N18TXS-18-polig.htm?a=article&ProdNr=Hornby-R7345&p=802
  8. I built a Trafalgar once. No idea of other classes.
  9. Finally got around to run my 2313, now I'm starting a shunting plank above my desk. It stopped every couple of decimeters, started again, but never ran smooth. Sound is great however. I wanted to open it, to see what's wrong. Well, opening was not necessary, the screws from the keeperplate are missing. Since I never really ran it, it must have arrived like that. I had a spare screw laying around, enough for a temporary repair, and now it runs like a gem. Very happy with it, just need to source some screws. I hope for a rerun some day, to get a stable mate.
  10. All the newP2's have these, but as far as I can see, nothing to do with sound. It'll be for the steamgenerator version.
  11. With a TXS-decoder (I only fitted it yesterday), the sound is quite strong, no problems there, but it does stall, so a condensator will be next.
  12. Ok, noted! For those with the Sonic A5, I just fixed it without cutting and I should have done it first. If you take the loco pcb of it base before you fit the decoder, you can fit it, justly. Runs and sounds good (2P profile) but might need a condensator. Would be a first for my small fleet.
  13. The antenna. In both Loco types it's the antenna that sticks out. So I wondered if I could cut it of and fit at Angle or so, or put a small flecible antenna.
  14. Maybe a stupid question, but since the size of the next18 TXS is often a problem, for example in my LNER A5's and G5 because of the antenna, is repositioning or replacing a possibility?
  15. I'm waiting for the steamgenerator 2007, but my 2001 will not be replaced. It's lightly weathered and had a spare hook and screwlink from 2005 (nice from Hornby to give the option between screwlink fitted hook, or hook without). Only have to change the fake coal, and the TTS decoder by a TXS.
  16. Maybe a Railroad PoW when the 1:1 is finished. Like they did with Tornado
  17. If you look at a previous Engine Shed, you'll see a first test model with single doors. Forgot which month.
  18. I have mine already, but it seems the first badge sold out, so they did a second, according to an answer I saw on Instagram. They should arrive in september. But best send an email to Hornby.
  19. Sam from Sam's Trains' just did a video about where Hornby went wrong. I have no interest in steampunk, and watch his reviews only for the great close ups, so didn't watch this one. https://youtu.be/TmuFLtV9mIo
  20. I think you are mixing 2003 and 2005. Here is my 2003. Or do you mean something else?
  21. I'm just under 2m, one of my best friends is 1,60. We would make quite the footplate team.
  22. Well, we'll have to wait, won't we? There'll be enough 'aha's' and 'why so and not so' in due time!
  23. Nothing on 2005, very, very little on 2003, and I only saw that after looking for it because you asked. On the short straight I have out, and running light, I couldn't see it.
