  1. It seems that the steeper gradients often used in German/austrian/Swiss multi layered or mountainous layouts have something to do with it. Not sure if true, only heard this one today, but might explain it.
  2. I think it's sold out on pre-order. https://uk.Hornby.com/products/lner-a4-class-4-6-2-4491-commonwealth-australia-era-3-r3992
  3. A bit strange to me, most Dutch and Belgian modellers I know are not a fan of traction tyres. Must be a German thing.
  4. What surprises me is the popularity of the Railroad+ TXS loco's. They seem to sell out quite quickly.
  5. I like the Hornby advent calendar, even if the only reason is that it's cheaper than the Rituals one I bought for my wife. Could've gotten a nice Loco for that price.... (I think these houses are using spare Turbomotive oil lamps for lighting)
  6. Not a big fan of Sam, but his 15xx wasn't the best one I have seen. Quite some gluemarks and other Quality issues, so I follow his reasoning.
  7. If they have the new tender coupling, I'll be able to do some 'what-if' running behind an A1 or P2. And vice versa.
  8. Waiting for this one to finish the streamline-up!
  9. Tsss, that's not how things work on RMweb 😁
  10. I suppose it is about winning the picture contest?
  11. Hornby put them in their latest loco's. 9F, P2, Dunlop A1 all Came with crew. And I seem to be a minority (of 1) but I like lamp fitted loco's. Of course, I grew up with my dad's LGB trains in the garden, so I might be a little biased. Now, on the other hand, thanks to this very forum, I learned the meaning of the headcodes, so if a goods engine can't have changeble lamps, I don't want them. But changeble, or for an express Loco in correct formation, why not? But I promise, if Hornby ever would ask me, if I want them, I'll refer to this topic, and say please God no! 😁
  12. Maybe Hornby's market is more than RMweb? If they get possitive feedback from other customers/retailers, they might go ahead is planned. It are (expensive) toys after all.
  13. Yes, I already do that. I was hoping with the dongle to control my loco's via the app.
  14. Will it be compatible with non-Hornby controllers? I have an eLink, and a z21. Would be a shame not being able to use either, because I'm quite pleased with the HM7000 system.
  15. I'm sure more info will come up from People present at Warley, or from Oxford. Both the crane and the J26 are Q3/4 2024, and prices TBC. I don't know anything about matchtrucks but the one at thé show looks to be temporary, a PO plank wagon.
  16. Indeed, I hope for a rerun of the J27 one day as well.
  17. Yes. It will also include a match truck.
  18. The crane Will now include a match truck. Announced on IG.
  19. I saw a pre-production of thé crane and three J26, and an announcement for a lines NER J26 version on Instagram. But not a lot of communication from Oxford themselves.
  20. I don't have much experience with Heljan, only have a couple of the very fine NER Railcars they made for RoS. It's a steep price, but if you compared with £200 for a G5, very reasonable. Is there a EU stockist where I can pre order?
  21. The feature is not new, but now it can be done with a much lower price tag.
  22. It's free, but no discount. For that you'll have to join the (also free) Hornby rewards.
  23. Don't need one, don't have a use for one, no idea what I would do with one. Anyway, I bought a couple... Can't wait for them to arrive here on the continent!
  24. My money is on Paddington to Dover Priory by Hogsmeade Station.
  25. Same here, they work fine in my large Pacifica and Mikados, but I needed a stay-alive for my A5.
