  1. I think Hattons have previously said items have been cancelled when what they really mean is that don't have an allocation. I guess they don't have a template for that. Could be wrong though
  2. Quite, and understandably you would say/imply the opposite. However ""their"" researcher not doesn't work for them andnI believe hasn't shyed away from spilling beans but has stayed true to this
  3. ""their"" researcher at the time is good enough for me :)
  4. I wonder how many times people in the know have to say that ""their"" 91 wasn't designed to gazump Cavalex before people stop saying it was.
  5. I get that, I guess it depends on what flavour you like your modelling. I'd rather have one good and one average model of two prototypes than a good and average model of one!
  6. Hopefully it will be something not currently available in RTR, too much duplication going on these days.
  7. I think the editing causes problems, it looks like a lot of things have been said and then that audio overlaid over alternative scenes some editors thought worked but those with a bit of knowledge know to be incorrect, such as the old/new comparison that involved a 9F and a P2 in the most recent episode (I imagine in reality they may have been comparing the amount of separate details or something but the wrong audio was overlaid). I would say Hornby likely don't have any say in the edit, if they did you probably wouldn't have seen: A Merchant Navy with a tender on backwards A tender drive loco moving with no valve gear movement A voice over mentioning safety valves when cylinder drain cocks go off Shall I continue?
  8. The currently available RTR Class 60 is a pretty cracking model, so will be interesting to see if this is noticeably better.
  9. Maybe, but given police involvement I'd imagine it's less boxes and brown tape and more angle grinders and a Transit van* *other makes are available
  10. As it seems to have no option to pre-order new range stock, and doesn't have a very exhaustive list of stock full stop you'd have to assume not a very high one
  11. Very much looks like from the Hornby statement that it *has* been stolen. I'd assume they know
  12. Perhaps, but how much say do you believe Hornby realistically has in the final edit/VO of the show?
  13. Someone has missed this weeks 'Don't believe everything you see on TV' warning ;)
  14. Maybe unbelievable, but they definitely had a sample with the wrong spacing as was shown, so I guess the alternative theory would be that they tooled it up knowing it was wrong to make a one of for a bit of jeopardy? I know which scenario I find harder to believe. Point taken, but I'm pretty sure (although may be wrong) that the RR 9F is from the original 1971 tooling, maybe a bit ambiguous. Wouldn't be the first instance of dodgy VO in the show though!
  15. I'm not sure this is necessarily true Lion is, in effect, completely different from the Titfield Thunderbolt. Lion can and does stand up as a model in it's own right, you can have Lion without TT, but I'd argue its harder the other way around
  16. A few days later, but good to see that S*******s is happy to repeat this now debunked myth, proving the long held belief that the total amount of research that goes into one of his videos is 0. The sooner a manufacturer slaps him with a lawyers letter the better.
  17. That it be. No idea why I couldn't get the link to paste/embed properly, senior moment?
  18. I've seen a video called 'TT120 reversing 9 coaches' on YouTube Seems to not be a problem with the included coaches plus a bunch of Pullmans I did have a link, but something was going awry
  19. +1 use of Phil's 'Don't believe all you see on television' button
  20. Well, here's the wagon chassis I'll be modifying to run on my pretend preserved railway layout. From a brief bit of searching it appears to be from an American Baltimore and Ohio railway hopper made by Mantua, it came fitted with non-NEM knuckle couplings that don't fit with any of my other stock. I'm going to give this wagon a second chance in life over the weekend.
  21. I spose just wait and see when someone who has seen the model can tell us. I can't say its a deal breaker for me but also understand it would be nice to have. I'm waiting for the reviews to decide whether or not to get one, which I understand can be a risk with not being able to get one but you takes your chances and all that
  22. I love the Art Deco Signal Box, does anyone know what it's based on, it looks very familiar
  23. I'd be tempted by these, despite the price as I think they look great, alas I am not a member of the collector club.
  24. I was led to understand that protection from voltage surges was (or should be) on the locomotive PCB, however this could of course be wrong
  25. There certainly is in 00, Pack C contains link wires and a guide for their use, not sure about TT though
