Presumably based off of this image, although interesting to note the caption does list the loco as 'shunting' with them fitted, so if they can do it in real life presumably no bother when aided by the hand of god (or electronic equivalents)

Well, when the Princess, 50, 66 and J50 are released, all supposedly by the end of the year I think that'll be an equivalent size range in 1/3rd the time if I'm not mistaken
But they did, and do have a viable TT range? You can view it here if you like:

As for driving suppliers out, I'm not sure that's fair. Fair enough they announced some of the same things as Heljan but the choice to pull out was theres. If their 31 was at CAD stage it would be out now if they had carried on with it and we've seen not a peep of a Hornby 31.
A range that isn't as big as you'd like =/= a range that isn't viable.
That's the loco little Timmy knows and by extension (and probably much to their annoyance, his parents. Additionally, while you or I might see it as just another steam loco it is special to a large group of people. Every version they do seems to sell out, so why not make them while they can?
I would imagine that with the double chimney fitted some vapor would collect on the plastic middle moulding, which would form a bead which could drop onto the pad which creates the steam, causing the flow of steam to stop.
One model is marked as 'Last Few' on the Hornby website and I guess we'll see if the other is close behind it. In terms of 'shouldn't have made it into production' that doesn't look true going off sales of at least one version?
I notice this evening in the comments of their most recent Facebook post that they have sadly closed down permanently. This comes from someone who claims to be related to an employee there. If this is indeed true, as I assume it is, sad news as it really was a great little shop.
Looks like I'll be getting my first Accurascale loco then! I was suitably impressed with the Accurascale wagons I got last year, so hopefully this will match that!
Well, the item I ordered at half 4ish yesterday has been packed and sent according to an email a few minutes ago, excellent service until the very end it seems
Last order placed with Hattons (not including my Barclay pre-order), purchased an item in a completely new scale to me as a bit of a project.
Starting out a new scale with a Hattons purchase, it's like when I returned to the hobby all over again.
For any Hattons staff that may see this, thanks all for everything, this hobby means a lot to me and you've helped in that a great deal.
Not sure that's entirely fair, if a model is advertised as working on radius 2, it should probably work on any reasonably installed, reasonably clean example, not any and all. Plenty of track that could be too steep or out of level which any model could struggle on, both examples having nothing to do with the choice of loco
