  1. An article and a video from around 10 days ago about the issue. https://www.railmagazine.com/news/network/2023/02/02/technical-issues-cause-gbrf-to-withdraw-class-69s
  2. Another thing is, what Exclusive Manor do you expect? Without tapping into the fictional territory, I'm not sure what can be made. No special livery, no celebrity loco, it's just gonna be another Manor isn't it? (Happy to be corrected by GWR experts though.) I believe a lot has been covered already in terms of livery and variation in the current lineup.
  3. I noticed newly announced DCC Sound variants are now separate items from the DCC Ready versions on the website, a nice little change I sppose. Maybe it should be carried over to older models, because for example, I click Class 92, I see 92001 Victor Hugo from £189.99 and only 18 left, I click into it, only to find out what's left are the DCC Sound versions at £279.99. But I gotta say the Accurascale website is probably the most user friendly site of a manufacturer. Some manufacturers, (sigh), their websites are so unbrowsable, can't find anything, I don't know what they're trying to show us, maybe they just don't want us to browse their sites. If I gotta complain about the Accurascale website, there are 2 things: 1. With the ever growing product range, the drop down list for "Wagons" is now longer than my screen can show (has been for a while). I can use Ctrl Minus to make the page smaller, but that's not gonna work when the range keeps growing. 2. The "Project Status" page is a great invention, only if it's constantly updated (the 89 is still missing, and some very fresh ones). And perhaps those delivered can leave that page. (Sorry for nitpicking, but I know you guys strive for excellence) (I'm posting here because I saw that change while browsing for the 31)
  4. Does anyone have information of the year and price of the previous release or first release? Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to lower the average cost by producing more of the wagons and making them into 5-wagon packs?
  5. Why would you need smoke deflectors on a heavy freight engine? While the lack of speedometer indicates it's intended as a slow locomotive, the presence of smoke deflectors kinda indicates otherwise.
  6. New batch Chaldron New batch 21t Mineral New batch Coil A Accurascale is starting 2023 strong! New batch Cemflo? It's been a while (My wallet says please don't do it)
  7. I suppose these should be marketed as Accurascale Exclusives like the NCB pack?
  8. Streamlined Thompson A2/3? Never built but hey there's a drawing - much better than GWR's effort imo. Plus, like the B17/5, Hornby already has the chassis for it.
  9. Why? The Thompson A1/1 and Peppercorn A1s were all fitted with double chimneys. In fact, all Thompson pacifics had double chimneys. Only 10 of 15 Peppercorn A2s had single chimneys throughout.
  10. In fact, all 4 variants slated for winter 2024-25, according to the Hornby website. https://uk.Hornby.com/products/lms-stanier-5mt-black-5-4-6-0-5200-era-3-r30224 https://uk.Hornby.com/products/br-stanier-5mt-black-5-4-6-0-44726-steam-generator-era-5-r30225ss https://uk.Hornby.com/products/br-stanier-5mt-black-5-4-6-0-45157-glasgow-highlander-era-5-r30226 https://uk.Hornby.com/products/br-stanier-5mt-black-5-caprotti-4-6-0-44755-era-4-web-exclusive-r30227
  11. Pretty sure that's not the case... If you think Hattons looked "outraged", that's probably TV drama effect (Which show was it? I forgot). Anyone with a bit of sense (inc Hattons) knows the Hattons 66 was competing with the Bachmann 66, and neither of the two were competing with the Hornby 66. It's just drama, it's not real.
  12. You could say they are "fully vaccinated", but China currently has not approved of foreign mRNA vaccines, nor have they developed their own mRNA vaccines. So whether Chinese vaccines are effective is, to an extent, questionable.
  13. Revolution Trains vs Accurascale FNA-D...
  14. I wonder what proportion from the 2022 range has been delivered so far? Not to mention those from 2021 and 2020. I suppose Hornby is choosing between these two options: (1) announce a year early to "intimidate" smaller manufacturers; (2) announce a year late so that grumpy modellers have one year less to wait/moan. With some products from the 2022 range slated for 2024/25 winter delivery, when are we gonna see the 2023 range products delivered?
  15. Flying Scotsman in 1948? Numbered 60103, wearing Apple Green livery and 'BRITISH RAILWAYS' lettering. Photo from NRM
  16. Many people are still awaiting the Standard 2MTs... According to Hornby, 2 versions expected Spring 2023, and 3 versions expected Summer 2023. We'll see about that. Black Fives gotta wait, I s'ppose.
  17. 4 and 6 wheel coaches are of different lengths, as pointed out by Stephen (Coumpound2632). I concede on the roof being flat or curved - one size will fit all. But clerestory or not, I think it has to be different. You can't make one model represent both a clerestory coach and a non-clerestory one. Which one would be commercially more viable? Or would it be viable to produce both? Does simply swapping out the roof work?
  18. That's a wild idea. First of all you need (at least) two lengths. Then the roof, clerestory/not, flat/curved profile. These two seem the most obvious to me. There is a possibility it would work I suppose... Exodus coaches maybe?
  19. I agree. The J20 had a wheelbase of 18 ft 10 in, whereas the Raven Q6 0-8-0 has a wheelbase of 17 ft 2 in - shows how long the J20 is.
  20. Why is the streamlined P2 included? Hornby announced it in their 2021 range almost 2 years ago. The code is R3985
  21. I noticed the bogies of the power car and dummy car are very different. The engine room detail too. This is one of the reasons I don't really buy into the idea of dummy cars - they look different, which they shouldn't. Is there anything Hornby could've done to make them look a bit more identical? (Photos from Hattons)
  22. From photos, the coaches seem to come with large D-type couplings, is that the case? Ref: https://www.hattons.co.uk/904696/hornby_r40356_mk3_tcc_trailer_compsite_catering_in_hm_queen_elizabeth_ii_platinum_jubilee_lner/stockdetail
  23. Still available at retailers. Hattons, Rails of Sheffield, Kernow, or your retailer of choice
  24. Yes, there were many Bulleid Pacifics. I was referring to the part where you said the SR retained locomotives from the 19th century... (sigh) What I meant was steam development was not the SR's primary goal, especially if you look at the number of SR-designed locomotives built during the Maunsell years (which exclude the H15, N15, S15 and N). The figure is 186 according to here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locomotives_of_the_Southern_Railway#Richard_E._L._Maunsell_(1923–1937)
