  1. Love your large BR blue locos but only have a small shunting layout? No problem. "45037 at Peak Forest".
  2. "Class 25 D5185 passes Woodthorpe with mineral wagons and brake tender from Swithland to Loughborough on 12th May 2018".
  3. Debating whether I need another shunter or a mainline Bo-Bo for my Presflo micro 🤔

  4. When I was big into HO I used to have one each of the little 44t/70t switchers. They're lovely little things & can be used for any setting. It looks right at home moving the wagons around outside your sugar mill.
  5. Revolution are allegedly in the R&D stage for an N gauge Electrostar family (according to their website). Isn't that Hornby's attitude in general? Poor quality for more than the competitors' prices? "Ducks for cover"
  6. Would a NEM pocket fit under the loco? You could superglue some in then buy NEM-compatible kadee couplers.
  7. Rails ebay coupon - "SAVINGS20" valid until 11:59pm 28/09/2023.
  8. To me it does seem some of the decisions were made on that aforementioned person's personal interests rather than potential customer base.
  9. Gloucester class 08 No.08826 heads a short train of 'Presflos' for Gloucester Docks at Over Junction in the heavy rain on 24th April 1981.
  10. Must learn how to get that baseboard effect without covering it in brown grass!
  11. The motorhome challenge where they go to Cornwall is my favourite ever Top Gear. It wasn't a big budget episode but there's something about it that's iconic. Most memorable car - "block of flats on top of an old Citroen" Most iconic laugh - "I asked James to assess the situation but he wasn't much help" Ultimate troll of BBC brand rules - "I can't tell you, but you know of course they're Jaffa Cakes". Other notable ones are the Nile in estate cars, Burma lorries, Oslo race, amphibious cars across the Channel, teenager cars.
  12. Went on the Elizabeth Line for the 1st time (or Crossrail as it should be known 🤣) today! Was awesome!

  13. I've sent quite a lot of decent condition stuff to Hattons in the last 3 months. Some were a clearout, some were genuine selling to Hattons. For the good stuff (good Heljan, Hornby locos) I've nearly always got a competitive offer & paid within the same day as it arriving at Hattons' site.
  14. Fond memories of that regularly turning up on the 07:36 East Grinstead - Victoria (when it used to be diagrammed for 4 x 377/3).
  15. Only have limited width on your baseboard & always wanted to model passenger ops?
  16. I noticed a distinct cooling in the air as I went for a late evening saunter around my town. Not 100% comfortable yet but the humidity and temperature are gradually reducing, much to my relief. ALL the windows were open last night & to cool down my aparment. Bring on the cool autumn I say 😀

    EBay madness

Make an offer of £46. See if he accepts 😆😁
  18. It went over an undetected AT mine with said mine detonating & disabling the vehicle. Crew bailed out, damaged the vehicle with a greande through a hatch so the Russians couldn't capture it & are all alive. Russians subsequently decided to launch artillery fire at it. Then claimed they had destroyed it.
  19. My Walthers Trainline GP9M that's had countless freelance paint on it is the smoothest HO scale I've ever run when I was doing American outline. Directional lighting, 8 wheel pickup, heavy weight: All for £60!
  20. Picked up a blue one (& a Wascosa steel carrier) from AliExpress for a total of £25. Still beats me how they make & ship them so cheaply in 7 days to the UK! Intending to put a nice GBRF logo on the side if I can find decals for it!
  21. Caught purely by chance. Flying Scotsman heading home from the Bluebell Railway on the long night run to York. Photographed from the footpath over East Grinstead station.
  22. Must have a large loft or shed for this impressive fiddle yard. Even more impressive collection of parcels carriages too!
  23. Are we going to ignore this? Yes it is acceptable to run HST power cars with freight now!
  24. Very slimey & hot here! Amazing how 3-4 days & the weather can totally shift in the UK! I'd call that a layout trackplan finished!
