  1. So Accurascale have done 31s AND modern liveries AND keep the price "down"? Is the only reason these are so extortionate is because of the auto-coupler thing? The price of that bogie tanker has me worried that large rolling stock will soon be approaching £100. That's simply unacceptable for something that isn't a loco.
  2. Withdrawn BR Waterloo and City Line Class 487 MBSO S52 and TSO S82 on their way for scrapping at Stratford:
  3. Last day of job today! I was expecting it, but the director who gave me redundancy hasn't even showed up! Definitely better off out even if it wasn't my decision!
  4. Suzanne Vega vs DNA - 'Tom's Diner'. STILL an absolute banger!
  5. Hunts Point Local shoves through the clutter with just the caboose. Hunts Point, Bronx, NY: South Shore freight runs down the middle of E 11th Street in Michigan City: RSSX SW1200 802 pulls a cut of outbound tank cars down the alleyway of AdvanSix Chemical Plant in Philadelphia, PA: PVRR CF7 2647 and GP9 7030 lead the train with only two empty scrap gons past trucks and traffic down Water Street:
  6. Butter makes lots of things better....
  7. I often get the urge to have boiled or fried egg for breakfast the night before. Then I wake up & think "nah boring old Malted Wheaties" are quicker 😆
  8. Redundancy notice period has its perks: Getting paid to do no work, job hunt & browse RMWeb in between applications 😆

  9. Have class 20s & Class 43s ever worked together on a freight?
  10. Is that pipe bridge the Kibri kit? Would love to have something like that over the hidden fiddle yard entrance on my WIP layout!
  11. I've watched a couple of your micro O gauge layout videos, ironically before you posted a link to your channel on here. Being someone with an interest in American outline & cameo layouts in general, I'm looking forward to seeing it progress!
  12. St Blazey wagon shops: Southampton Maritime FL repair depot: Burton repair depot (Nemesis Rail): Doncaster wagon repair depot: Ellesmere Port repair depot:
  13. I've got some N gauge track & stock in a drawer. Very tempting with a Mosslanda as you say!
  14. Still job hunting here after my shock (overnight) redundancy: Sparing the details the company directors no longer want to invest in the product I was headhunted for 18 months ago 🙄 Anyway, I've managed to do some more modelling using my spares box & creativity while we limit spending & to keep the mojo up! For those with niche, electronic music knowledge I'm off to see The Orb tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll again soon be feeling happy & on "Little Fluffy Clouds" 😉
  15. Having a family relative in Texas & being a "window" fan who would support the Texans (with the ridicule that comes with), I'm genuinely amazed how well they've done this season. Don't need a star QB, just one who is consistent & the team gels with!
  16. No model building/purchases UFN due to completely unexpected redundancy tomorrow 🙄

  17. Very sad. I've been big a BIG user of Hattons preowned section for nearly 3 years & bar a very rare example they've all been great. The fact that a big retailer in the hobby has had to cease trading is sad & eye opening. I do hope the employees can find similar jobs soon.
  18. Happy Christmas all! Hope those who have railway related items on their Xmas lists get some of their wishes 😁 Hope 2024 is a good year for all as well! 2023 has been a great year personally & I'm passing on some of those positive vibes to everyone else!
  19. For my micro layouts I usually put a layer of thin ballast on the wood, then tack track & then fill in the ballast between the sleepers. For something <80cm in length & running slow trains there's very little noise produced so I don't need to cork or underlay the track for running at speed.

  21. Think I might have mentioned before, but where I live Evri is nearly 100% reliable & Royal Mail is 💩. We have a new postie every month. The latest one is so lazy he cba to even go up to upper apartments & just leaves letters & parcels (including bills/brown govt) on the steps in the open foyer to get trodden/mashed/stolen by all the people coming through the front door. This combined with the fact the post never arrives before midday despite living 700 m from a delivery office! Evri will actually attempt to deliver it to your safeplace.
  22. I wouldn't trust someone who runs the track on carpet, without even cork underlay, with dead frog points & has quite an obvious hidden vendetta to give you an accurate review.
