  1. Nice work, Adam. However Bachmann, besides making very thin vacuum cylinders and a short cross-shaft, also cocked up the positioning of the cylinder. The V-hanger should be nearly centred with the intermediate underframe strut and the cylinder should be much nearer the large cross strut. This photo illustrates: https://www.flickr.com/photos/95430950@N07/12979880373/in/album-72157641378993573/ I hope this is of use to you
  2. 1K20 is the 15:30 Liverpool St-Yarmouth 1N28 is the 13:30 Liverpool St-Norwich
  3. 1A14 is the 08:55FO Bradford-KX (with the extra TSO on the end). The last 4 coaches are the 08:40 Halifax portion . The Griddle Car (RG) is E1102. The 1975 ECML carriage workings show an RMB, so there was probably an amendment as it is listed in the 1976 carriage workings. C2281 is the 09:20 Newcastle-KX (Tees-Tyne Pullman). 1A16 is the 09:48 Harrogate-KX (Yorkshire Pullman). 1L06 is the 09:10 KX-Leeds. Last 3 coaches are the Hull portion. C2884 is almost certainly the 11:00 KX-Edinburgh (although the carriage workings list an RKB rather than an RB in the formation)
  4. The last rostered RK's that I can see are in the 1975-76 LMR carriage working notice. The 07:29 Wolverhampton-Euston, 10:10 Euston-Birmingham NS and subsequent legs. Also rather surprisingly on the 09:05 St Pancras-Nottingham and 12:50 return. Most RK workings were in specials and charters. They must have spent most of their time sitting in the carriage sidings! Mark
  5. 6O51 is almost certainly the Uddingston-Cliffe cement train C1732 (from the timing of 1A10) is 1L05 08:10SO KX-Leeds (interestingly with a 2nd RU in place of what should be an RB next to the TSO, and a Mk1 FO in place of a 4th TSO). C2686 could possibly be the 13:00 KX-Edinburgh (I can't find anything that exactly matches the formation in the carriage working notice) Mark
  6. 1E81 is the 14:10SuO Harrogate-KX (joining at Leeds with a portion from Bradford dep 14:18). The Thompson SK must be a substitution for a non-available Mk1 SK. 1N13 is the 11:30SX or 11:25SO KX-Harrogate. One of the first passenger Air-Braked workings. Mark
  7. It's a Post Office Sorting Van. 1N27 is the 18:40 Norwich-Liverpool St which carried a mail van. Mark
  8. I think it is a trick of the light, balders. A standard SK I'm afraid. There is a Thompson SK 5th coach though. Mark
  9. 1A32 is the 12:45SO KX-Newcastle, although the formation doesn't match the 1966 Carriage Working Notice 1A25 is the 10:05SX or 10:10SO Edinburgh-KX 1A14 is the 09:00 KX-Newcastle with the front 3 coaches for Newcastle TCQ 1A26 is the 12:00 KX-Aberdeen The headcode 3N08 is obviously wrong for an unfitted freight! Mark Sorry jonny 777. Didn't mean to duplicate your post. I don't think 1A32 is the 13:00 KX-Newcastle as it would probably have 100mph stock.
  10. Dave, yes you are right. 10:10 doesn't fit time-wise plus that service was more likely to have been on the fast line. I think it more likely it is the 13:40SO all stations Bedford-StP which would have been on the slow line. The 10:10 worked the 12:10SO StP-Bedford and that could have formed the 13:40 and the headcode has not been changed after working the 10:10 (Headcodes were officially abandoned on 01/01/1976 but the St Pancras DMUs continued to use them for a few years)
  11. I think it is more likely a bog standard SK with unpainted quarterlights (M25456 had painted quarterlights)
  12. 2C32 is the 10:10 Bedford-StP 2C10 is not listed in the 1975/76 WTT, but had previously been used for the 13:45SO StP-Bedford rather than 2C09 of the SX train. If 2C10 is correct, then C2618 is the 14:05 StP-Sheffield C2619 would then probably be the 12:10 Sheffield-StP C2620 would be 13:55SO StP-Luton parcels Mark
  13. 1P14 is the 12:30 StP-Derby 1D06 is the 09:30 StP-Nottingham C1912 is possibly the 09:16 Leeds-StP Mark
  14. C607 is possibly 3S22 11:40SO KX Goods-Edinburgh Parcels 1A20 is either 11:10SX Leeds-KX or 11:05SO Bradford/Leeds-KX (the latter if C607 is right) 1E11 is the 12:00ThFSO Edinbugh to KX (although it has a BSO leading, rather than a TSO as indicated in the 1971 Carriage Workings) 1D08 is the 16:15 KX-Cleethorpes (the 3rd vehicle is listed as a LFK in the Carriage Workings, also contains a Gresley RB) Mark
  15. 1N27 is the 18:00 KX-Newcastle, although the date must be later than June 71 as Mk2d stock was introduced on the ECML from 12/07/71. 1D01 is indeed the 09:25 KX-Skegness 1E07 is the 11:10 Edinburgh-KX C1835 doesn't match any formation I recognise, so can't help there. Same for 1S87. It may be an extra as the reporting numbers didn't usually get that high, even for night trains
  16. 1N07 is the 09:40 SuO KX-Hgt. A Bradford portion would have been detached at Leeds. 1E83 is the 16:20 SX Hgt-KX. Complete 8 coach train through to KX.
  17. I've also just spotted a mistake in the Southern Pride version of 3084. The windows should be 4ft 6in wide, not the standard Mk1 size which is 4ft.
  18. 3083 & 3084 both appear when new in maroon livery in the Timereel DVD London's Railways in the 1960s, supposedly in the Hook Continental. As the camera pans along the platform both coaches are seen in entirety. 3083 has blue seats and curtains. 3084 has charcoal and grey stripe seats and pale grey curtains
  19. It is also the carriage formations that help identify the trains. Many Carriage Working Notices are available on Robert Carroll's BR loco-hauled coaching stock Yahoo group. Some are more difficult, like C1944 which doesn't appear to be a regular set. It may be a Friday extra. Thanks again for posting the photos.
  20. C1946 If the headcode is 1E56 it is the 17:05 St Pancras-Leeds C1947 from the formation is the Up Thames-Clyde Express 09:55 Glasgow Central-St Pancras 1B24 - 16:32 Doncaster-KX 1A42 - 16:00 KX-Edinburgh 1A20 - 11:30 Leeds-KX 1A22 - 10:50 Newcastle-KX
  21. Other amendments suggest the 1969 Fleet List lasted for 2 years before being re-issued (it is dated 1st Jan 1969). All the LMS day stock has been amended to show condemned except BSK 26928, so it looks if possibly this survived into 1971. This is indicated as being in blue/grey livery.
  22. The 1969 BR Standard Stock Fleet List has a handwritten adenda dated April 1969 with LMS origin coaches still in service. Ordinary day types listed total 26 SK, 26 CK, 3 BSK & 30 SO. So it is quite feasible that this is a service train.
  23. I think D1977 is on the 09:20 KX-Leeds/Bradford, however the main Leeds 8-coach portion is the wrong way round with the 1st class near the front. The Bradford portion would be the last 3 coaches. 1A13 is the up Tees-Type Pullman 09:15 Newcastle-KX. D277 is on the up Yorkshire Pullman 09:50 Harrogate/09:55 Bradford-KX. The Bradford portion is in view. The Harrogate portion 5 pullman cars would be after the BG. 1A20 is the 11:10 Leeds-KX. Thanks for posting all these photos
