  1. GBRf Class 66 66783 The Flying Dustman awaits its driver at Draxbridge.
  2. 18/07/23 I've started the painstaking process of ballasting the track. I have decided to start on the freight only line first then do the BR mainline second. I started it by dealing with a small section of the high level line first. I used my track ballaster I brought on eBay and a bottle of Ballast Bond. I should note that and it was an absolute fath to use (the ballast bond, not the track ballaster) and I probably won't be using it again. I then resorted to the more easy method: 50/50 PVA and Water with a drop of washing up liquid in a spray bottle. I got more ground coverage than with the Ballast Bond and will now be using for ballasting the layout from now on. This was the first bit of the mainline I tackled. I started on the line on which the platform is and worked my way from there. 19/07/23 Unfortunately, some of the ballast in the station area hasn't secured properly and is loose so I've redone the entire lot. Plus, the edges of the ballast weren't straight so I've used some lengths of wood to help it to keep the p-way straight. I also took the chance to ballast the headshunt while I was working in the area. I've also ballasted the rest of the mainline including the goods shed siding, the other siding and the running line.
  3. 66783 The Flying Dustman stabled at Draxbridge. Also the tail end of 6E64 to Doncaster EPT can be seen.
  4. Update: Draxbridge is currently undergoing a overhaul. As part of this, a lot of track requires pulling up. The work includes removing the 2 points, crossover, siding and headshunt on the scenic section and the headshunt, point and curve in the fiddleyard. Then I will be installing 3 new points, a new headshunt and siding. Photos of the progress I've made so far:
  5. Class 158 158743 passes 46115 Scots Guardsman at Scarborough on 06/07/23.
  6. You are aware this topic is for class 150 to 159 DMUs only right? That's a Class 170. Please remove this post from this topic.
  7. "[...]scheduled trains being turned over to historic steam locomotives like Tornado, Prince of Wales or Flying Scotsman replacing their modern units" I wouldn't class Prince of Wales and Tornado as historic. The class of loco they are, yes they are historic but the actual locos are modern.
  8. A class 185 DMU. No manufacturer has made a ready to run version yet. Currently they are being only used by one TOC: TransPennine Express. But they've carried 3 liveries throughout their career.
  9. Has anyone made a model in N gauge yet? I'm trying to source one for Draxbridge.
  10. I found two: "threee" and "erors". Can't find any others
  11. Spitfires, Spitfires everywhere. Spitfires at the Flying Legends airshow at Leeds East Airport in Church Fenton on 15/07/23. There was 14 at the event! I even got to go in the cockpit of the Spitfire in the second photo!
  12. I've booked a place to go on the Scarborough Spa Express on the 31st of August. I hope this situation doesn't affect the railtour.
  13. The Jacobite services have been suspended from operating by the ORR because of "‘a couple of issues of concern' in relation to the management of the hinged door rolling stock that is used on the Jacobite service" Full page here: https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2023/07/further-jacobite-steam-train-cancellations-due-to-issues-of-concern-from-orr. I don't know if this will have any effect on WCRC's other railtours such as The Scarborough Spa Express which I've booked a ticket for.
