  1. Thank you for the clarification, glad to hear that you are on the case. From those photos, the head codes that looked ‘pushed in’ and damaged, could this be from rough handling? Cheers
  2. And either the paint, or excessive plastic from the moulding, is covering the bogies holes. Unless this 25 has a different number at each bogie, happy to be informed.
  3. Also, in a few photos the wipers seem very crudely painted.
  4. I wonder if someone will ever do a super-detail mk1, although best case scenario atm is if these Bachmann ones incorporate new parts as seen on the tpos, although seeing Bachmann mk1s in sales for low 20s regularly ,is reassuring.
  5. Looking at the recent model railways direct sale, 117s,121s, 2-HAPs, EPBs,158s, CEPs etc were all in there. These new Bachmann units whilst fabulous don’t seem to have sold in some retailers. I can see these going the way of the original CEP and being reduced heavily
  6. Emailed Bachmann about the clash with 216, apparently their tooling only covers a handful of units in the gwr fleet, so they are sticking with it as 216. Annoying and disappointing after a large gestation. However it is accurate, I believe it was due to the seating.
  7. With the 2 other competitors being rather far along, and the Bachmann model being announced a long time ago. Will it be outdated by its eventual release? I do wonder how it will stack up, maybe if they update it to the plux 22 system and other modern features, whilst still being cheaper, it may stand a chance. And the question is, is there a demand for 3 high quality rats. But then again this is all speculation.
  8. Now with another 25 announced, will Bachmann pull the plug? Unless they can undercut Heljan with price I can’t see them beating the others. Happy to be proven wrong though.
  9. Very true, Bachmann cancelled the GWR 166 , because they couldn’t make it dcc ready, was verging on £180 in 2017. Even the old toolings will still command high prices.
  10. Do we know how long the slw one has been in development compared to the Heljan model?
  11. Same here, whilst the Heljan samples have looked great. I’m sure the SLw model will have less errors. Although still interesting to see how the Heljan model arrives. Maybe a price drop? Although it’s very early.
  12. Nearly a year on, samples for the northern ones, yet none for gwr. The wait continues
  13. Hopefully now with the plux 22 coupling and drive system now used in the new DMUs, progress may pick up. Would be nice to have more updates on a product that will certainly cost a lot.
  14. Saw the recent video of the blue Pullman early sample. No headlight (top) we knew this. Wrong exhaust cowlings for ex EMT VP185 powercars and a few livery discrepancies. Although nice to see Hornby providing samples
  15. Hopefully lots behind the scenes, we had no progress with the manor and then they suddenly have samples. The last samples we had were in 2018 and we haven’t seen anything since. Hopefully the long gestation means a superb model. I’m interested to see how they do the rotating axle boxes.
  16. Not a 25 expert at all, but was this a class wide thing?(drilled wheels) Given we’ve seen the likes of spoked/drilled wheels on many other RTR diesels 22,24,41 etc. Would be a shame if they aren’t there.
  17. Will these feature the new Plux 22 dcc interface? Or am I right in saying this is the decade old cep with a new buffet?
  18. Will the wheels have the holes drilled out? Or was this only on a few of them.
  19. Absolutely fantastic and you say this only a hand assembled one? Unbelievable. Great work
  20. Same here, was wondering what has happened. Maybe Dapol will cancel their manor project and focus on these? Might free up production space
  21. Until they cause poor running, almost all of the fan mechanisms put stress on the motors and inhibit good running.
  22. I’m in 2 minds, I’d love to see some new toolings and liveries on existing toolings, but then I also want them to focus on already pledged stuff. Many things announced 3/4 years ago still aren’t out. The quarterly announcement doesn’t seem to be doing it’s job, as we are still seeing delays (although understandable at this time not always bachmanns fault at all).
  23. Wheels seem to have quite large flanges, hopefully not a repeat of the mk3sds. With casting issues etc
