  1. Well I guess I'll get away with posting these couple of pics..??..(It's a locomotive - but not as we know it captain!) 'cause there isn't really anywhere else... Once I've got a bit more paint on the boiler I can start on the plumbing Enjoy your evening, Trev.
  2. Morning all, Yet another Monday! Hope all goes well for AndyB & Jock.....as to our own LB's ,enjoy! Now today I've got to arrange the "protocols" for moving stuff from one site to another --- it's not as easy as just chucking the the bits in the back of the pick up - the paper work will take longer to arrange than moving the stuff! What ever you're up to today, try and find something to smile about! Trev.
  3. Evening all, Work done this morning though clients idea of shutting down between 8 & 2 ..didnt quite pan out, more like 11:30! But we only needed 30 minutes & were done & dusted. So lunch time saw me treat myself to lunch at cellulite city (aka the pool bar at the Sheraton) Was very quite though not many people around and no one in the pool at all. Also managed to get my hair trimmed as I had been instructed by GF! Even managed to get a bit of modelling (well shaking a rattle can ) done this afternoon too. Though for some reason the plasticard on the ploughs has reacted rather badly to the paint -- seems to have soften it. maybe it will harden off in a couple of days. . Nearly bed time, so till the morrow, Trev.
  4. Morning all, Even though it's Sunday I've got to go worko! Arranged a factory shut down so that we can inject another 2mw into their network. Temps only 25 here but the humidity is around 80% so "real feel" temp is in the mid thirties! Whatever you're at to try and enjoy something, Trev.
  5. Good Morning all, glad you had a pleasant birthday Andy - only 40 ! Now seems that my last missing container has escaped the docks police and should have made it to it's resting place. So will be off to check shortly. (as well as checking on two other locations). Seems at the moment whenever I press one of the buttons for "Like /Agree/Informative etc I get a Pop Up screen that says "RMWeb says this is a bad request" . Whatever you're up to today - try and make the most of it! Trev.
  6. Morning one and all, yet another week nearly over -- only two more working days till the next one!. Jock remember French's, they were main contractors (IIRC) on a number of jobs that the company I worked for were Pilling contractors. The little Ruston Engine was a pretty basic beast, air and water cooled versions available and most hand started. Well got my "teachers" head on for a bit this morning....... Whatever you're up to day , try and find something to smile at, Trev..
  7. Well only three days behind - got 8 of the 14 containers were they should be, mind you idiot car drivers seem to think that "Road Closed" signs warning tape across roads, armed police saying "stop" dont apply to them............still trying to drive under the cranes counterweight! While every one went for lunch I went for stroll & found an abandoned Ruston Bucyrus 19RB, well maybe just extremely weathered! ...photos taken for future modelling project.... Now tomorrow, site visit (early) to check how the installation of another pair of these boxes is going (Gas powered gens @ 2 mw each) then "Electrical Safety in home and office" Presentation at the monthly safety action group meeting....then two containers to get unpacked & get crew assembling kit of parts thats inside! (without instructions! - as I have to write the assembly manual) and maybe even another pair of boxes being delivered on Saturday! Roll on next Friday! Trev.
  8. Morning all, West Africa is still fighting Back ----- Grrr Nets being cra* even in the office --- and I seem to be surround by fools & idejets, or am I just being an intolerant grumpy old man? (DONT answer that) Ashley, safe trip & enjoy your new life, Jock, best wishes hope all goes well for you, I do enjoy your posts,so keep 'em coming chap.... No off to try and get a bit of semblance of order in my day! Be good Trev.
  9. Good morning all, So far three days of "WAFB"* --- to complicate matters internet at home has been cr** too so no chance to play catch-up I'm afraid. Still it's 'ump day and only 9 days till I'm outa here! Try and behave today, Trev. *West Africa Fights Back
  10. Good morning all, Well lets hope I get some success today and the rains hold off.....crane on one site --- all the equipment at another (tomorrow offloading job) so just got one left for Thursday..... What ever you're at to day - try and make the most of it. Trev.
  11. Afternoon all, Net less this morning, then several hours spent on container hunting----out of 14 got ten & tracked the others down -- all should be were they're supposed to be by tomorrow (Maybe!) Had to redirect a couple.......oh the joys of working in West Africa ! No chance in going back to see what every ones been up too, just wish you all what you'd wish for yourself this week! Having limited net yesterday did some serious thinking about my future.....once I've got it in some semblance of order - I'll be coming here for advice? Be good, (or if you cant be good be careful!) Trev
  12. Morning Afternoon all, internet connection to day is much worse than normal.Did try getting on much earlier but no luck. Yesterday was spent on a fruitless container hunt..... one turned up where it shouldnt - and the drivers gone AWOL! Three of the top boxes have turned upon one site, but the lower halves haven't -- I've got a 275 tonne crane at on site & no containers yet.....where there are containers crane (450tonne)wont reach till Tuesday! But that being said I should be outa here in two weeks!!! Now Ithink a Sunday afternoon snooze is called for! Enjoy the day as best you can, Trev.
  13. Good morning all, my "plans" seemed to have changed over night -- as they do! My boss has decided to go to the docks to try and "chivy" things along - not that that will work - last ex-pat I heard of who tried that ended up getting locked up! So today could be interesting! What ever you're up to, try and make the most of it! Trev.
  14. I thought it was to be called Bertha? (The weather that is...) Managed to down load all the printer scanner drivers, loaded Office 2013... and most importantly downloaded Model Railroad Hobbyist! Work tomorrow as the containers are escaping tonight (yes-no-maybe!) Sleep well, Trev
  15. Good morning & happy POETS day one & all, Those who remember such trivial will recall that I was expecting some containers in early July....well their escape is planed from the docks tonight! - all the appropriate payments being made . So week end will be spent checking that the four sites are ready! Clear space leave it empty and someone will fill it! Now got to get my team & contractors sorted , Lets all try and have the best day we can. Trev.
  16. Morning all, Is it Friday yet? - bu99ero it's Thursday. Hmm. So far flights out of here to anywhere don't seem to be affected, though passengers coming in are being checked (with an infra-red heat measuring gun) but whether thats passengers from other WA countries or every where I dont know. Still life continues as normal as it ever does here.... Try to make the most of your day, Trev
  17. Good evening one and all, My modelling mojo seems to have budgered off.... which is a bit of a blow.... as I wanted to take the de-winton -alike to my (hopefully) new workshop in GF's apartment. in a couple of weeks time... Shortly it will be time for our nightly phone call. As to the **** off button, not managed to find it yet because after to day I need to find it quickly....maybe it will come with 8.2?? Sleep well, Trev.
  18. Welcome home Ed! Stay chilled the gardening can wait!, Trev.
  19. Good morning one and all, hump day again...... yesterday was interesting --- on one the "wheel re-inventors" said to me why did you not measure all the cable routes round the factories? Because I was only asked to look at the power-house......I'm many things but not telepathic."But we're offering a complete distribution system" . So return visit was made yesterday afternoon , the only constellation was seeing a container train - first I've seen here. Oh well best press on with report from yesterday.....still trying to get my head around windows 8...but I have found were the "off" button is! Be good, Trev.
  20. Good morning all, For some reason the stories of WW1 always effect me more than those of later wars....fortunately both my Grandfathers survived relatively intact. One was groundcrew with the RFC/RAF, the other was in the middle east, though he did catch a bit of shrapnel in his leg. Make the most of your day, Trev.
  21. Now be afraid folks (Inc Trisonic Pete) Big Berthas on her way ( and I dont mean the latest "new build" is going to be a Midland 0-10-0!) According to the Daiylwail news site (so it must be true) there is a tropical storm of that name of that name heading your way next week! On that thought try and have nice evening............... Trev
  22. Good morning all, seems I am up first! With any luck at all I should be getting container shipments today (yes-no-maybe) 14 of them on 4 sites........ Meeting about the site I went to Friday afternoon first, and getting the IT guy to install the correct version of office on this machine ..........and ........and 18 days and I'm outa here! Whatever you're up to today, try and find something to smile about, Trev.
  23. Evenin all, still trying to get to grips with this new lap top & Windows eight! . Well I've found out were the "off" button is hiding... managed to get the desktop page in some sense of order got my screen saver & desk top pictures were they should be. Now to get the IT guy in the morning to install Office 2010 instead of 2007! and get the WiFi to work..... Just spoke to my Mum whos had her second crop of strawberries this year off the same plants, which seems quite amazing. Also had GF complaining that parts of British Columbia are hotter than here! (28c against 27c - but the real-feel here is 38c) . No modelling done this week end - but never mind, bed time, Trev.
  24. Good morning all, Dull overcast & dismal...(and thats just me!) weather is pretty much the same.! Not sure yet what I'll get up to...... maybe a trip to the local supermarket is in order. What ever you're up to lets hope it's a successful day, Trev.
  25. Good \morning all, Not struggling to much with the new "Toy",the link to change site (shell) my GF had allready sent, shes pretty smart and has also found me a way of transferring all my Google Earth place marks. Now site visit to day, couple of reports to do (on the old L/T as the new one only has office 2007, and all my stuff is in 2010!) Then may be some bits on either the de-winton a like or something else I've got on the go. Whatever you're up to day, try and make the most of it. Trev.
