Each time I just selected one product, went to cart and straight to the checkout where it was sitting in the cart bit on the right. It did not appear on the cart page at all.

     

    Right now there is no check box I can see on the cart page (see below). So not sure what is going on but I definitely did not tick any boxes to get the carbon thing to appear. The good news is having repeated the process the carbon thing no longer appears.

    If this issue has been removed then great work addressing it so quickly. I was logged in when I did the first two orders (one paid and completed, one aborted) so if you want to check the web log and tell me I did something wrong then no worries, always happy to eat humble pie if I've messed up!

     

    No changes have been made Tony. Perhaps clear your cache / cookies? Once you tick the box it remains active for your session.

    I thought that sort of behaviour had been ruled illegal after Sports Direct and their infamous mugs? It is certainly not ethical retail practice.

    The voluntary customer option is a checkbox on the cart page. 
     

    Don’t click it and it won’t be added. 

     

    Thats the default. 

     

    Regardless of customers choosing to contribute we make one for every order regardless.

    Not entirely sure how you are measuring but the sockets perfectly match the NEM guidelines.

     

    The magnet couplers are set to couple the coaches as close together as possible to make sure there are no issues on R2 track. They are not related to the NEM standard. The short couplers are also set at a similar distance and are also designed to avoid issues on typical layout curves.

     

    Both options are a significant improvement, we feel, on both NEM compliance and radius 2 compatible close coupling.

    Absolutely. We plan to maintain stock availability as much as possible and the next run is already mapped out (and a few more after that, and more versions and variants etc). We will share more once decorated samples are in hand

    For the sake of accuracy our warranty team have a dedicated stock allocated and can exchange models from that. Repair is an absolute last resort in any case. HTH.

    To Accurascale, can I just ask if all the packaging materials used are recyclable and does that apply to all those used previously as well?

     

    I have real problems at times determining which can and which can't go in our recycling bin from all suppliers - e.g. scared to put the wrong kind of polystyrene beading / bubble wrap into the bins for fear of being fined!

     

    As said once before though, some boxes make great storage boxes for paints, parts, decoders, etc..

     

    Glad you're supporting the environmental push and as you say, likely to become more and more legislated against, so good to get ahead before then.

    Absolutely, all of our packaging is fully recyclable, including the black foam inserts, clamshells and all documentation (and indeed pretty much all of the models themselves) and we're now moving / have moved to a card end cap and matching card box for customer shipping, which negates the need for any infill. We're exploring other measures to further improve the efficiency in these areas.

     

     We work closely with our factory partners, most of whom carry a lot more ISO certifications and climate credentials than we do (yet) and do our upmost to minimise our impact where we can. It's a constant battle of small wins but eventually, like saving those pennies, or getting your cash back points on purchases, those little wins add up to something meaningful over time. 

     

    It's worth the reiteration that this is not any kind of 'offset' scheme or greenwash, rather we are pooling with other shopify powered providers, to directly invest into carbon capture tech and solutions in a meaningful way (as a first step) and that the investments will grow over time into other relevant areas.

     

    From a customers point of view there is ZERO impact, no prices have moved, we still don't charge you for delivery at all (in the UK, other limits apply :) ) and everything is and was as before, just we're taking a % of our margin and trying to use it to negate the carbon / energy used in getting you those parcels of joy.

    I'm primarily referring to parts such as sand pipes, cab/cab front hand rails, grills, bogie steps/step handrails but more importantly the axle boxes as they look even more refined than the previous Hattons offering and would assume they can be used on the Hattons 66 as replacements or if some go missing.

    If you could advise that would be greatly appreciated.

The first is a high pitch whine when moving and wagons coupled to it will derail on 2nd and 3rd radius curves, this seems to be caused by the coupling having restricted movement so its pulling the wagon off to the outside of the curve and off the track.

    My order is going through a bit of a mare. The delivery to the retailer got stuck in the DPD depot then sent back to Accurascale. They sent it back to the retailer but he only received half of his order. I feel sorry for the retailer who is getting a lot of flack from other customers and of course it is the customers who are having to wait while the mess gets untangled. I'm in no rush for mine but there is a worry that at some point the retailer or Accurascale are going to say sorry lost in the post here is your money back and all the spares have been sold off.

     

    That specific issue is a DPD documentation glitch and our team and our DPd account manager are on the case. All orders will definitely be fulfilled 👍 Hope that helps reassure and our apologies for the screwup.

    I was amazed when I put the address of the new repair centre into Google Earth Pro and moved the images back to 1945, that this facility is situated on the site of Darlington Bank Top Shed (51A). Unless the AS team are taking fanaticism to a whole new level, I presume this is just coincidence, caused by commercial common sense, rather than seeking out a site for repairs located specifically on a former engine shed. But it must be a (global) first to have a model railway repair facility based on the site of the real thing???!!!

     

    However now they have got it, one of the many Darlington based steam classes surely is a must, just for the authenticity of carrying out warranty repairs on the actual site where the prototype was serviced and repaired. (just a shame they can't open a UK-based tooling room a little further North in Darlington).

     

    Just something I thought was worth flagging and celebrating (and surprised the AS team themselves have not made a thing of this, given the 'authenticity' it adds)!

     

    Total Coincidence (and we don't have a view of the running lines from the lab) :) (Ok, well actually we do :)
