Maybe I should have asked, are they included or after market?
Paul.
Included as standard. We would never photograph a model with after market accessories fitted :) HTH!

Hello Fran
Your lovely photos show 3 links fitted, are these practical or aesthetic?
Paul
Both.

I agree, nobody has done it yet
Don’t worry our tooling suite for the 30/31 like all our range is pretty comprehensive and we have already mapped out the next 4-5 runs :)

TMC should have theirs today. Our own processing has been slow with the massive mk2 run landing at the same time but we’re also due to commence shipping today.

Do we have an update as to when the first batch should arrive on these shores?
Due to ship shortly. We’ll have confirmation once the factory is up to speed again post the lunar new year holidays.

May I ask - are the photos of the latest samples taken with scale sized wheels, or with the smaller ones that will be supplied? Thanks!
As supplied.

On both the Deltic and the Class 50 the chain is connected to a bracket mounted on what is effectively the body. This is one reason why attaching it to the chassis is not as easy as the Class 37, where the chain bracket is actually mounted direct to the underside of the chassis on the real thing! The Deltic and Class 50 also require the base of the chassis to be much higher than the bottom of the body in order to accommodate the wheels (flanges and all), especially for guys that might want to install scale diameter OO, EM or P4 wheels. This means having cutouts in the body for the brackets which will make body removal more tricky and would also likely incur a visual penalty as well. It's not as simple as just "fitting it on the chassis".
Long story short, they will be easily attached as per the real thing, in a manner that will allow for body removal when needed, and still retail an accurate appearance.

Sorry , no offence intended , it’s just a convenient shorthand to differentiate with blue box and red box . Can we call you green box ? Even though it isn’t ..;)
None at all remotely taken. We are grey / charcoal boxes tho to stick with the box based nomenclature 😃

I can understand your perspective and had this of been The Emerald teams first loco,
I am a proud Irishman but with 3 irish team members and 12 british it’s probably unfair to label us the emerald team ;)

I seem to recall some folk having a lot of trouble getting the stay-alive to work on their Manor ( Next 18 socket ) with a Zimo decoder. Can't remember all the details - something to do with the PCB being designed specifically for the ESU LokSound and using three wires, not two?
As I said above, I have no problem with a manufacturer going off-piste, specification-wise, and implementing non-standard or extra features, possibly requiring their own custom-programmed decoder to be fitted, provided they tell people what will and won't work with a "standards-compliant" decoder. I don't want to find out something doesn't work after I've made the purchase.
Maybe because you're spending £200+ on the loco. Not everyone has unlimited funds.
So why are the ones that Accurascale sell priced at £29.50, £100 and £110, if there's little real difference between yours and the £10 ones? Even for the non-sound £29.50 one, is that no better than the one you can build in for £10?See non OEM licensing and costs. When you buy a stand alone decoder you pay for a lot more than just components. The discussion , with respect to the OP, is about definition of DCC ready, fitted, etc not specific manufacturer issues. My question was if it made sense to the customer to include a decoder as standard in all locos for a small additional cost (also offset by the fact you don’t need to prepare, package and post that decoder separately.

Decoders are not yet at the stage where they're all "good enough" for the average user. Some brands are definitely better at certain tasks than others (and some are unfortunately still rubbish).
Agree. Does that not place the argument back in favour of fitted a quality decoder that is good enough as standard?

We all have our preferred brands of decoder. How would you ensure that a model was fitted with the brand we want? That's what "DCC Ready" is for.
Since decoders are ‘simple’ enough components with little real difference between them is it a little akin to having a preferred brand of hifi or similar? Does it really matter if the actual functionality is all ‘out of the box’ so the decoder maker is abstracted away? It’s feasible to ‘build in’ a decoder to the pcb or leave it pluggable for under £10 these days. Would DC only users object to paying £179 say rather than £169 to have a decoder come as standard

If anything it makes a case for only shipping models DCC fitted and DCC Sound fitted? Both options support DC running and both provide full functionality?

Noticed that the coupling hooks on my AS Deltic have started to corrode. Checked other stock and AS 37s are starting to go the same way. No other stock affected.
My layout is in a loft which is unheated so does get cold and humid. But that said it's only on my AS locos there is an issue and I'm sure I'm not the only one here with a loft/shed layout. Has anyone else noticed this?
Very odd but drop support a message and we’ll send you new ones under the lifetime warranty 👍

I so want these but missed out due to time zones!
There is always stock freed up after landing from incomplete orders. Make sure you pop your email in to the ‘notify me’ box and we will email you the moment they are listed.

It’s not. We have tens of thousands of locos shipping in the next few months and don’t want to further complicate with part shipments!

At the moment they are scheduled to be finished at the Factory in June. It had been a few weeks earlier so with transit as it is these days we are in early to mid Q3 for delivery to customers at the moment. Hope that helps!

Seems like the HTG are getting a bit ahead of themselves then!!!!!!
Not at all! They’ll be the first of the batch to land and I’d imagine the group would need customers to commit asap to pay the bills in turn before the models land.

I don't doubt about your support at all, I am a happy customer.
I was testing the new 8 ohm speaker having been given it at Warley and spoken with the ESU guy there.
Its just an option if people are worried..

Doug
As i said there is no cause for worry. We can also supply an 8 ohm speaker if anyone is unduly concerned 👍
