    Another carriage lighting topic!

So I have a good look at the AC lighting board and it consists of the following:

    • Bridge Rectifier to convert A/C to DC.
    • 5v Regulator to drop the DC down to 5v
    • 0.22F super capacitor rated at 5v (hence the reason to drop the voltage)
    • Hall sensor and associated transistors to operate the lights.
    • Resistors and LEDs to actually provide the lights

So what does all this mean? Well fitting a decoder of any sort would be less than straight forward to control the existing lights - but not impossible, although you'd loose the stayalive doing that.

I installed a DCC concepts flashing tail light into mine, but sadly the circuit from that will not operate at just 5v meaning the stayalive capacitor can't really be used. In the end I fed the circuit from the DC side of the Bridge Rectifier and added my own additional 25v rated capacitor to provide some stayalive to just the tail light.

    Bruce

We do actually have flashing tail lamp (kits) in hand (ex Wagons) which could be fitted, tho it would be rather DIY,,,, perhaps drop us a line direct if you feel brave :)

Website checkout and trying to pay an existing order in full where I'd paid no deposit.  Logged in, obviously, but I don't use the "remember me" as I usually rely on autofill or ApplePay these days.  Not to worry, I'll keep an eye on it next time I pay for something, might just be one of those annoying "can't reproduce it" sort of bugs!

Once you tap on the credit card field auto pay will ‘auto’ magically appear on your device. You can also tap the Apple Pay button which will handle instant checkout too. If any issue do please send us some screenshots.

When my phone pinged to say I'd received funds I thought I'd pay off one of my Accurascale locos.  As you do.

Unfortunately on my iPhone the ability to autofill card details isn't supported in your software and as I hadn't got my olde-worlde wallet with me that was as far as I got😢

Only a minor gripe, as when I returned home I fired up my computer where autofill works like a champ.  But if autofill worked on mobile devices (as it does with most other vendors) it would make giving you all my money a little easier👍

No reason it should not? (Always has for me) Are you using the website checkout on your mobile or the Shop App? If you login first the shop option will even store your cards for you.

That boat train is in demand! Bachmann 2A BFK added to the rake (for now), and someone's chucked a 50 out from Bournemouth, outrageous:

Such smooth runners these Mk2Bs, credit to Accurascale they glide round our 24ft long layout with ease.

In need of a blue/grey BFK for a Pompey-Cardiff train, foolishly left it too late. Anyone spotted any? (Not in Germany)

Keep watching the website, there is a final balance-up of stock in hand now all preorders are chased down and beaten with sticks, which will likely go online for sale on Thur.

I think Fran and Mc C both mentioned in previous posts that no money is required to be paid until the pre ordered items are in stock....

Exactly that. We are currently working on a method of syncing the invoice due date with the actual arrival date / status page as it’s a ‘new’ feature on the shopify platform and the api is lightly documented.

Aside tho until we send you a payment request no payment is due. Indeed if anyone has paid early and would rather a refund let us know too and we’d be happy to send back your funds until needed.

    hope that helps.

I will give them a call tomorrow.

A little confused how people were getting theirs on Feb 24th if the containers arrived a week and a half ago, but hey ho.

The Irish mk2’s were in their own container and the RTC packs came ahead. The accurascale mk2b containers finished count in on 14th March. No conspiracy, just large volume.

I'm still waiting on mine from a retailer, can only assume they don't have them.

I understand that you use a fulfilment company to dispatch orders (which makes perfect sense when you're dealing with 2 full containers of stock), but if that is the case wouldn't it be sensible to up the staff for the period where these massive releases arrive and then keep a BAU level other times. Yes it might cost more, but not as much as unhappy customers and retails will cost you long term. Certainly the approach I've taken in previous roles where similar surges of orders were in place. Always worked well.

Your retailers are wonderful, but I can't help but feel this gives them a bad name when people see other people with their orders online and they don't get their orders. Ultimately customers will learn that if they want their models early just to order direct rather than through a retailer that might take months to get their allocation, or maybe that's the point.

All retailer orders have left us now, so if in doubt, I would recommend talking to your retailer.

We bump from 5 pick and pack lanes to 10 when large preorders come in and it's something we are still working on with our logistics and fulfilment partners to improve.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to get all orders away at the same time, no matter how it's done, but the containers arrived about a week and a half ago and everyone has their orders and all the retailers too - so thats' not rather months of a delay, and it's something we are still working to improve.

Yes, I doubt most of the retailers have shad a chance to sell out, at least partly because I have heard a number of grumbles because some still haven't had their deliveries!

    Jon

It takes a little time to offload and dispatch two full containers but some stock only went on sale as all paid preorders and trade orders were away.

Our goal since day 1 has been to work toward sustained stocking and we maintain that goal in partnership with our wonderful retailers.

Mine just arrived and they are beauties! Great Underframe detail and two accessory bags each plus a wafty stick. There's a selection of different coupler options plus various pipe details in the bags. The free running of them is a dream. So smooth! I'm looking forward to running them on more than my maintenance plank though.

The detailing is exquisite,  even picked out are the little hinges and flat metal parts on the gangway doors. The buffers are modelled in the retracted position,  as is correct except for on the end coach (one of which might have been a mk1 BG anyway)

    Another win for Accurascale!

Non-retracted versions are in the baggie too...

66’s are on the high seas I believe. With the 50’s in production. Best looking at Accurascale’s project progress table on their website. Unlike retailers who take pre-orders and then payment when the products arrive into stock, I believe AS take the pre-order payment and then you have a guaranteed model once they land in the U.K. - this is how I would define it.

You can preorder anything you want on the website and no payment is taken until they are in stock or imminently so. You can always pay early if you prefer or set up an installment plan to spread the cost but payments not due until they are here in any case.

I get a verification code sent to my mobile every time i log into my account on the accurascale website whether or not I’ve used the app but I don’t need to enter it anywhere when I pay

It’s once you sign up for ShopPay / the Shop app. Once you get to checkout it will send a code to your phone which verifies you without having to enter your password. If you are getting them at random it’s possibly someone trying to login as you!

good job its a quiet month on the credit card, looks like it didnt hit it though.

No actual payments were taken. Support can verify for you as we resolve an API issue between shopify and partially

I had posted this last night and then deleted it in fear I was mistaken in questioning it, but I'm surprised that payment is being taken when we haven't even had decorated livery samples yet? Usually it's pay up front on ordering, or pay when the item is available, right?

(I'm not actually complaining, I have too many pre-orders due to land at once so paying one off early benefits me!)

No payment has been taken or is due, until the goods are ready to ship, so for any concerns - do reach out to support

My WCRC pair arrived yesterday. Yes they are fantastic coaches, but that's already been covered to death. I was more interested in the comparison to the Bachmann WCRC release though, as along with the forthcoming Accurascale mk2c and Bachmann mk1s they will make the full rake. Anyway after a bit of weathering they look pretty good together, just like a rake would that's been painted over a few years. Body sides kept clean, but underframes, lower sides and roof dirtied up a bit. I also used a bit of tcut on the sides to get that nice used shine effect which old stuff seems to get because of too many oily rags. All quite subtle but basically they look alright together. Few pics in natural light below.

Only thing I'm unsure of is the West Coast logo. Can't tell which one is right, but I think I'll order some from railtec and probably end up redoing them all as no doubt that will be different again 😄

Thankfully these vehicles have been photographed quite a bit so it’s relatively easy to verify the accuracy 😉

At least you have got to the bottom of it, all 9 of my 37’s have the issue. Does the single batch include every 37 you have made to date?

Can you explain how the files changed the impedance of the speakers and how new files can correct it? Anybody with a background in electronics knows that the combined impedance of the two speakers is outside the spec of the Loksound.  Struggling to see how software can change a hardware issue.

I would be interested to reblow my decoders with these files and report back my findings.

    Hi Cliff

Unless all of your 37’s are from the same batch that’s new data for us. The impedance in the 37 is ESU specified and designed (to belabour an oft repeated point at this stage) and is identical to the IRM A class and the 55 for example none of which exhibited any issues. What changed was the tolerances of components on the loksound itself (which ESU then released firmware updates and new bass and treble controls to help with ).

As always if you are experiencing any issue with any accurascale item we stand over them with a lifetime warranty and our support team are best placed to help

on a case by case basis where needed. (needless to say this is nothing to do with the imminent class 66)
