  1. Folks may be interested in this book. Class 26 first, possibly more to follow. http://sdeg.info/ If you are on Facebook more details on this page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1702812816544869/permalink/2026271624198985/
  2. Same here, having avoided Covid for 2 years it found me this week. Really sorry to have missed the show as I always look forward to it. May have to ask some of the guys from the club to pick up some bits and pieces.
  3. You may want to try North Road Trains or the Junction Box. Both will be there and are decent folk to deal with.
  4. As we look forward to going to Model Rail at the end of February preparations for our own show continue. After an absence of two years due to Covid we expect our 2022 Celebration of Model Railways to go ahead this summer.
  5. The club is getting ready to go to Model Rail Scotland at the end of February. We are taking our Coeur d’Alene layout. Some of our newer members are getting trained up to operate the layout. Coeur d’Alene is an American based layout with a French sounding name, it is a narrow gauge layout so it runs on OO track but it is American O Gauge. Hope that is all clear then. https://fb.watch/brlj9qkA1q/ https://smet.org.uk/coeur-dalene-pmrc
  6. That is my tickets booked from Perthshire. It will be a early start, but should be a good day out. Looking forward to the show
  7. Latest info on release dates. https://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/blogs/news-1/update-to-future-items-february-2022?_kx=x-sfUTvkrJ6IYwXVHbLVY2cVpugqcA18scFLWQcYyjGJcfhOrW2NSUJMSidX-fya.UvyHL7
  8. Perth Model Railway Group are looking forward to taking our Coeur d'Alene layout. Coeur d’Alene Railway is an O scale narrow gauge model, set in the state of Idaho, USA in the 1930s. It depicts how a line might have been built to serve the Coeur d’Alene Lake area, via a depot at the small town of Rockford Bay, incorporating a ferry terminal with tugboat and barge. Although fairly remote, the area has some mining activities, and a coal loading facility is included.
  9. I see Colin and Cuthbert have managed to come to an agreement. if caterpillars can do it, maybe Lions can to!
  10. Thanks Cameron, I had seen those photos but I still wasn't clear about the orientation of the pipes, esp since there appeared to be two pairs of pipework and one set of pipes which was different to the others. Somewhere, possibly Facebook I saw mention of an intention (possibly by Westhill Wagon Works) to do a video of how to fit them. Unfortunately I've not been able to track it down assuming it was ever made.
  11. I've got a set of the Westhill wagon works parts but no idea how to fit them. Any clear photos of how to fit then would be appreciated.
  12. The good news is that the post 2011 version of the "kit" only needs painted once every 25 years! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-14789036
  13. Paul. One of our club members makes videos at exhibitions, I'll PM you with his email. If he is going I'm sure he'd be happy to video your layout. Search for Heritage and Model Rail on You Tube for his channel. Calum
  14. Sort of. Yes they too had black roof in the artwork but came put with yellow roofs, but the livery application wasn't great, there was a mm or so line of yellow paint which was too thick along the top of the yellow around the body just below the blue. The Intercity 125 was a bit too low, that said it was only obvious if you tried to add a name under the Intercity 125 logo I got chassis and motors and stuck with the Lima bodies. As a result I have some Railroad GWR bodies to sell at some point. The improved motor over the old pancake are excellent.
  15. Great news on the ScotRail livery Mk2s. Am hoping the VEAs will be out for Glasgow next month.......
  16. Dropped Hornby an email about the black windows surrounds on the NSE 50 and the black roof on the Railroad intercity HST. They have confirmed there will be no black window surrounds on the 50 and are aware of the black roof query on the HST. I am sure both will be resolved before they come out.
  17. Excellent news, my leave is now confirmed and look forward to catching up with folks over the weekend.
  18. I got all excited when what looked like a CO2 wagons began to roll past only to be disappointed when revealed as a repainted TTA wagons. I had visions of lots of people buying the set just for the wagon.
  19. The opening scene of one of my favourite Bond films, let me down Blofeld demands, oh you want to get of Bond replies to the master criminal impaled to the helicopter, I'm sure he also tells him to keep his hair on. Very cruel mocking a wheelchair bound bald man! Can't think of any trains to be inspired by in that film, but some great 2CV (my first car) action.
  20. And that is only the half of it, another 18+ on the Hornby thread, Trains on Film where most but not all are about the same thing. In terms of views and comments it outstrips all of the other Hornby 2022 announcement topics over there. Who knew there were so many IP and copyright experts on RMWEB.
  21. Very impressed did think a Black 5 with Green coaches was odd.
  22. Was watching From Russia With Love the other night, am sure that although the days shots of the train were continental looking the fleeting night shots looked like a Black 5 and a set of green mk1s.
  23. I see the black cab roof has made an appearance again on the Railroad HST. Just like it did when the Blue Grey version was first announced a few years ago. On that occasion when released it had the correct yellow cab roof. Hopefully the black roof will change colour when released. I'm no expert on NSE, but is the black window surround correct on the NSE Class 50. I've has a quick google search and it looks like it should be white.
  24. Amazing, a topic about two, sorry three items, must not forget the bus, has generated more comments and got more views than any of the other topics on this year's Hornby announcement. And yes I appreciate the irony that my post is one of them I may balance it with a comment about the livery application on the Railroad HST in Intercity Swallow (Black cab roof) on the diesel topic or see if anyone on it can confirm whether Class 50 Exeter had black window surrounds in original NSE.
  25. So just looking for some clarity, when do I post my "Nothing for me this year comment on RMWEB, 0700 or 1000?" And will Rapido now move to 0655?
