I guess 66419 had to go and rescue the above service ! Seen here at Elsecar, running approx. 2 hours late. 6Y34 Dodworth - Belmont Down Yard. With 66528 on the rear. That's all 3 standard Freightliner liveries on the same service !! Cheers, Phil.

Had a great day out at DEMU yesterday..... As ever, nice to see some quality layouts, and meet up with some old longtime friends ! Got enough bits off Brian to keep me entertained for a while.... I can finish off some projects now ! 😃 Cheers, Phil.

I've used a fibreglass brush to remove the paint from the chassis where the bogie clip swings, not particularly because it caused issues the bogie turning, but because it's quite a thick layer of paint, so I thought removing it from both sides of the chassis block might increase the ability of the bogie to move vertically.... Not sure how much difference it has made ( if any ! ), I haven't done enough testing since, but I figured it couldn't do any harm !! Cheers, Phil.

Got a couple of 91's so far..... They do seem to clonk their way over some pointwork, but we don't have any particular derailing issues. Although, as others have noted, most of the weight seems to be carried on the outer axle of each bogie. But for me, the most annoying aspect of the model is the fact you can't completely separate the body from the chassis !! Even with all the plugs removed, there's still 2 wires connecting them together. Cheers, Phil.

The layout was recently swapped from 'retro' mode to 'modern' mode, which always seems to throw up a few little maintenance jobs on rolling stock. Always fun to go through the stock boxes and unearth a forgotten piece too !! One of which is this..... It got sidelined due to an issue with the centre coupling bar. I've been fitting Hunt Magnetic Couplings to all our Freightliner twinsets, mainly Dapol FEA-B's, and so far they've worked really well, much better than trying to screw/unscrew the centre coupling bar every time !! Anyway, the problem with this wagon is the screw holes have worn so much that there's no thread left.... The 'fix' is easy enough to do. I first drilled through the centre of the boss, making sure the hole was the correct size for the original screw to cut its own thread... The slot in the end of the wagon.... Had the upper edge filed flush, to make an opening wide enough to allow the new coupling to pivot easily.... A rummage through the spares box found a couple of suitably sized washers.... Reassembled with the new coupling in place.... Top view.... As the wagon will run loaded, the screw's will be hidden under the containers. Containers will also have a bit of weight in them, to help roadholding, as this wagon is light ! Another little job done ! Weathering all the container traffic will be a mammoth job at some point, there's a wagon or two on order, and when they're released, it'll be 3, maybe even 4 rakes to do !! 😬 Didn't realise there was so many stashed away....😅 Cheers, Phil.

Don't seem to have got much done lately !! But I have painted a crew for the 'Duke of Gloucester'.... Don't judge too harshly, these are only the third and fourth 'people' I've ever painted !! I apologise for the terrible photography. 😅 Modelu figures. Before painting, I trimmed some of the supporting legs away, CAREFULLY.... All painted up.... Couple of pics after they had a 'wash' applied, to hopefully exaggerate shadows.... No doubt when they're in the cab, most of the effort will be hidden, but I know it's there...🤣 Cheers, Phil.

(All pics taken by me.) Was really tempted to recreate this..... But do like this..... Even with the wonky cab steps ! But eventually decided on this version..... I guess that's the original paint under where the light covers have been removed ?..... Happy that an icon of my spotting days is being produced to such a detailed level, even though it fits in with no era or area that I model, I couldn't resist owning the sight (and sound) of such a beast.....😍 Cheers, Phil.

There have been extra paths in Real Time Trains last week and this, for the RHTT circuit covering the Barnsley/Sheffield/Grimsby sections. (on top of the 'Q' paths that are always there.) Think every one has been cancelled so far, but I'd assume they are also route refreshers, when they do eventually run. Cheers, Phil. -
50026, looking, and sounding, fabulous at the KWVR diesel gala last Saturday. Not sure why the software is making it look like 50026 is doing an impression of 50025.....

None that I have copyright to show you ! Agree about the different colours in the 'house' style on the 66, I think this one will grow on me.... Cheers, Phil.

Apparently getting proper plates though..... It looks better than 47580's new livery.....🤢 Cheers, Phil.
