  1. A few pics of mine.... Aside from the few inaccuracies already mentioned with the full set.... ( correct set number on one PC, matt black on roof of PC's, matt black on roof of coaches ) The full set actually looks pretty good running round ! The Blue/Yellow divide on the PC's isn't anywhere near the best printing I've ever seen, but it doesn't look too bad from normal viewing distances. Cheers, Phil.
  2. I know we shouldn't have to do it....but it isn't such a bad fix to get it how it should be. My PC's are due for delivery this afternoon, so I'll see if there's anything else needs doing..... Cheers, Phil.
  3. Hopefully this clears up the questions regarding the roof colours. The PC roof should be Black...... But Gloss Black along the edge, and Matt Black at the top. The coaches should be Gloss Grey all around the edge.....But Matt Black in the top/centre ( No idea why this pic is sideways !! ) The shiny patches in the last pic are because it was raining before we boarded at Leeds !! HTH Cheers, Phil.
  4. No problem. I'll post my thoughts.... Cheers, Phil.
  5. The power cars have arrived at Kernow today, and the Azuma is due in tomorrow (....or was it the other way around ?? ) Either way, both items should be in a box and on their way to me tomorrow. Cheers, Phil.
  6. It was after spraying these two, I remembered why I dislike painting Red..... never quite sure when to stop applying more ! But they turned out ok. Cheers, Phil.
  7. The odd hour snatched here and there has got a bit more done... First up, the body of the Pullman car got a coat of White primer. I went for White, as I want this particular coach to be slightly brighter in colour than the rest, as it is in my prototype pics. I deliberately didn't rub down the paint line just below the windows, to see if I can use it as an aid for applying the transfers later on, it's in just the right place. Might not help, but I figured it was worth a try !! A coat of Maroon (with a couple of drops of Red added, to brighten up the colour) went on next... The FK and BFK have also been stripped and sprayed with Grey primer... Cheers, Phil.
  8. Very nice !! Currently producing a rake of WCRC stock, and turning a Freightliner 57/0 into WCRC 57006. The stock-box I found the 57/0 in also contained a 57/6, 602-605 are already in the fleet, so I may have to join you in producing 'Windsor Castle' !! Cheers, Phil.
  9. That's the last time I'm pre-ordering anything by Hornby....... If the paint application is as bad as those pics look, that's shocking. There's simply no excuse for the wrong set number on one power car !! Cheers, Phil.
  10. It’s not Jim’s latest post that is being referenced. cheers, Phil.
  11. The problem Heljan have got is- I'm sure I'm not alone in the position of owning a couple of new Bachmann 45/0's, and I'm quite willing to wait to see if they announce a 45/1..... And seeing the Heljan version hasn't persuaded me otherwise. (although, to be fair, I'll make a final decision when the Heljan one is released and I see one 'in the flesh') What it has definitely stopped me from doing, is pre-ordering the Heljan model. Cheers, Phil.
  12. The Yellow has been sprayed on the ends of the loco. Then this just fell to pieces.... I suppose I should really get all the coaches to the same stage, ready for painting, but I'll probably just be a bit more random than that, and strip one down or paint something, etc, as the mood takes me !! cheers, Phil.
  13. Feels like all I've done lately is research.....so it's time to actually get on with it !! Made a start on the bodysnatcher.... Cheers, Phil.
  14. I only ordered these on Boxing Day..... Does Steve ever sleep ?? Cheers, Phil.
  15. Oooohh, we can compare Kitchens...... There does seem to be plenty of scope to add some unusual coaches to the rake if I want to !! Cheers, Phil.
  16. Since finishing these two- there's always been an intention to complete a rake of stock for them to haul, I've just never got around to it ! So when Accurascale announced the two WCRC mk2's, that was the push I needed to get on with it. Me and Jack looked through our photo's of WCRC stock, and came up with a plan for a rake. We didn't want to try to faithfully copy any particular rake, but more like produce a 'typical' set of stock that included the elements we wanted. A mixture of Mk1's and mk2's was planned, with me thinking the mk1's can be Bachmann, and the mk2's all Accurascale.........but that plan didn't last long !! We decided on 5487-5478-1860-99350-AMETHYST-1961-13440-9104 as the rake. 5487- Accurascale mk2 TSO, on order, in the correct livery. 5478- Accurascale mk2 TSO, on order, in the correct livery. 1860- Bachmann mk1 buffet, on order, in the correct livery. 99350- Bachmann mk1 Pullman. Needs repainting into Maroon. I know this coach is now in Pullman colours, but I like the fact it was a much brighter Maroon shade than most other WCRC coaches ! AMETHYST- Bachmann mk1 Pullman. In Pullman livery. This coach is already under my workbench !! 1961- Bachmann mk1 kitchen. Needs various doors/windows/roof vents/etc, altering to match the prototype, and a repaint. 13440- Bachmann mk2 FK. Needs repaint. 9104- Bachmann mk2 BFK. Needs repaint. The thinking behind this was- cheap seats-cheap seats-buffet to cater for the cheap seats-really posh seats-really posh seats-kitchen to cater for the really posh seats-posh seats-posh seats with brake area. I'm a sucker for mk1 catering vehicles, so the chance to have 2 in a single rake was too good to miss ! 13440 is (I think!!) unique in the WCRC fleet, as a mk2 compo, so I wanted to include it. The mk2 FK & BFK that Accurascale are producing are of a different body style to the prototypes, but they match the Bachmann models. I'm hoping that with them being at opposite ends of the rake, any differences in shape, etc, isn't too noticable ! I already had a spare coach to produce the kitchen car. What this also means is, half the rake have lights fitted (TSO's & Pullmans), so the other half will need them.... The BFK might just end up with a tail lamp fitted too ! Oh, if anyone is wondering why there's a Green 57 in the photo above....it's been in the 'must find a use for this' box for ages.....so it's going to be WCRC's 57006. This should keep me busy for a while.... Cheers, Phil.
  17. That’s where some of it came from, not where it’s going to….. Actually, everything in the photo will be painted various shades of the same basic colour. There’s also another 4 coaches to be included, but not repainted….. and I’ve already got a pair of tractors that can come to play ! cheers, Phil.
  18. What a random selection of stuff...... Wonder what I could do with them...... Cheers, Phil.
  19. Didn’t realise Bif put the sound in the real trains…… cheers, Phil.
  20. Is this the same version of a mk2 coach Accurascale are producing ? The door doesn’t wrap around on to the end in the pic, like it does on the model. cheers, Phil.
  21. Very nice James !! Bang average, with absolutely no redeeming features……..lovely ! cheers, Phil.
  22. I never gave any names…… The 70’s, you sure ?? cheers, Phil.
  23. Another couple of pics….. shame it was in such a terrible place to get pics of…. cheers, Phil.
