I'm hoping for BR Blue on 69006, as a nod to 56006. Cheers, Phil. -

HYA/IIA, BY Accurascale in OO/4mm scale!
Phil Mc replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
There's a lot of wibble being spouted here about model accuracy, and whether or not R2 is the 'standard' a model should be able to cope with... When the track gauge is a made up size....🤣🤣 None of which has a great deal to do with the subject of the thread, especially since the manufacturer has quite reasonably offered to correct any issues.... I'm only being grumpy because mine haven't arrived yet....🙃 Cheers, Phil. -
It's been relisted !! I'm guessing the buffoons that got carried away and bid so much for a 'drivers nightmare' with a hole in the roof, have refused to pay.... Cheers, Phil.

I thought the point of the tier system is that tier 2-3 can order what they want, but are only actually supplied with whatever H don’t sell online themselves and what tier 1 shops don’t want…. Which means tier 2-3 shops can’t take pre-orders for anything without running the risk of not being supplied, and therefore letting their customers down, which will no doubt damage their reputation and future sales. Therefore driving consumers to buy direct from H to guarantee they get what want, which is, in my entirely personal, opinion, H’s endgame. cheers, Phil.

I'm so glad the word 'having' was in that statement......🤢 Cheers, Phil.

Last one for now is a JNA. Running the wagons empty meant there's not much room to hide the board, but a bit of cutting got it far enough up to the chassis to hide it. To be able to mount the lamp in the correct place- The square boss on the back of the Bachmann lamp was drilled out from below, to accept one of the tiny LED's I have in stock. The LED was glued in place, and the boss was painted Black. While the paint was drying, the metal plate on the end of the wagon was removed, and a slot was filed in, just wide enough to accept the lamp boss. The plate was glued back in position, then a small hole was drilled from inside the slot, at a downward angle, to allow the wires to pass through into the cavity where the redundant close coupling cam mechanism goes. These wagons have got live axles, so DCC Concepts 2mm axle pick-up springs were used, much easier than fabricating pick-ups on the wheel treads !! Each bogie has a pick-up from each rail, just had to make sure the pick-ups were soldered to the appropriate point on the board to avoid a short ! All wired up. ( I've re-seated the axle in its bearing since the pic !! ) And it works ! Cheers, Phil.

This BYA was done in much the same way. I used the circuit board with capacitor included, and as it holds enough power to keep the light flashing for at least 10 seconds, I only added pick-ups to one bogie. I cut a couple of slots above the bogie to let the wires through. Then wired it all up. Ready for service. Cheers, Phil.
