  1. JLTRT! http://www.rail-online.co.uk/p974195917/h271500AB#h271500ab Dave (sorry Mike - I don't have one of my own to show!)
  2. Is that anywhere near Badminton? Dave
  3. David Andrews is doing a limited number later this year for pre-orders.Dave
  4. A 'Whois' search on the website address gives: Domain name: lococraft.co.uk Registrant: Jeff Lynch Registrant type: Unknown Registrant's address: 12 Old Station Road Syston Leicestershire LE7 1NT United Kingdom Does that help? Dave
  5. It also has the wrong address, phone number, an out-of-date product list and has clearly not been significantly updated for years!Dave
  6. Try here for Parliamentary Trains: http://www.parlytrains.co.uk Dave

They will now! Thanks for the insights. Dave
  8. Photographic evidence suggests that it may have been a BR-period modification to locos shedded at Weymouth during the 1950s. 1369 had been at Weymouth in GWR days but didn’t return there until 1960 by which time, it seems, the practice had ceased. 1367/8/70 all had the steps fitted. 1366/9/71 never had the steps. There is a photo of the step in use here (but you may need to be a WT member to view it) http://www.westernthunder.co.uk/index.php?threads/does-anyone-know-where-or-when.5772/#post-145487 Dave
  9. To summarise: Evostick or superglue to fix. Once properly dry/set, reinforcement with a slow cure epoxy (NOT the 5-minute quickset type) Dave
  10. There has been a very interesting thread running recently on the G0G forum on the best adhesives to use on Westdale aluminium kits. Dave
  11. If you are using it as a sector plate, the curved radius is much smaller than needed and will force you to use bigger splays. Dave
  12. I'm puzzled. It appears in the photo to be a turntable, not a sector plate. In either case, the tracks normally need to be on a radial from the pivot point where they cross from baseboard to moving table. I suspect that you might struggle to get 5 useable tracks on the turntable/sector plate with the splay required - even with two entry points. Have you fully mocked it up or am I missing something? Bizarrely, Grainge & Hodder refer to this type of baseboard as a traverser - a device which uses lateral rather than rotary motion! http://www.graingeandhodder.co.uk/store/c3/Traversers.html Dave
  13. Hi Rod I'm not trying to find fault, but if you are portraying an unusual numbering style, it needs to be as accurate as available information allows. You are quite correct, of course, there have been some real preservation howlers but hopefully we're better than that! Cheers Dave p.s. mine will be 58911 in an early BR livery:
  14. Hi Simon For me, the comment lacked the '!' which might have indicated tongue-in-cheek. Instead, it was stated factually in what was otherwise a typically helpful and accurate post from you. I do recall that on more than one occasion you have commented "if I was starting in 7mm now, I would....." I'm just trying to keep the balance and ensure that a newbie gets useful, unbiased and accurate gen with which to ultimately make an informed decision. Cheers Dave
  15. No, you don’t have it right! The only thing that you would ‘have’ to buy from the S7 Group would be the S7 Group-produced and commissioned items. A handful of S7 loco and tender wheel types have been commissioned from Slater’s but the vast majority of wheels will require reprofiling of standard FS Slater’s or other supplier’s wheels. Wagon and coach wheels in S7 are available from several sources. S7 gauges are also available from several sources. In spite of Simon’s unnecessary ‘They’ll all try to get you to do S7’ comment in post#14 above, those of us that advocate such an option would ask only that you consider it when you are at the ‘clean sheet’ stage. It’s not for everyone for a host of reasons but don’t dismiss it out of ignorance. Dave
  16. Rod The coal tank appears to have a hybrid of large ‘LMS’ and BR-sized bunker-side numbers. All of the photos that I have of LMS-liveried locos with the sans-serif numbers have numbers as large as the letters. E.g. this sort of thing: Dave
  17. I've just checked this on a MacBook and a PC using Safari and Firefox. Simply clicking on the official's title brings up an email form ready-addressed in every case. The address you need is secretary (at) scaleseven.org.uk as usual removing spaces and replacing the 'at' with the appropriate symbol. Dave
  18. We'll have to take your word for it - there's nothing visible! Dave
  19. Daifly(sp) won't get involved with long explanations other than to say I suspect that you used an iPad or iPhone to take the photos and uploaded direct from the device. If you use an iDevice to take photos the rule is that the home button should be at the bottom for portrait photos and at the right for landscapes. It is likely that the forum software can't determine what YOU know is the top of your photo and therefore it's YOUR job to upload photos in the correct orientation. Meanwhile, to avoid a pain in the neck, here are your correctly orientated photos! Dave
  20. Any of these would do! Dave Antonyms of halcyon: agitated, angry, inclement, restless, rough, stormy, tempestuous, turbulent, unquiet, unsettled.
  21. Can you do better than this? Dave
