  2. Yet another dull household task completed, but another weekend with no modelling done is nearly over - this is not the way to get a layout finished!

  3. Got a couple of jobs done today that I hadn't been looking forward to, including putting a roller blind up (something I never like doing)! That feels good!

  4. I was very sorry to see the Nimrods scrapped as well, Pity Coastal Command haven't got a few Shackletons left to put up there in the meantime.... ;-)

An off the shelf US type - that isn't actually available yet, and when it is they won't let us have the software to run it due to export restrictions...

The nimrod gap will eventually be replaced by UAVs. Either an uprated predator or a complete new build. And coastal command disappeared a very long time ago lol

    4. Tim Hale

The MR4 capability was filled by Rivet Joint assets. The RAF offered the Nimrod as a candidate was cancellation so that they could retain their fast jets.

  9. will be heartily glad when (a) the snow has gone and (b) when I'm not on call any more...

  10. Wondering whether it's worth clearing the snow from the steep bit of our local road (no cars have gone up or down since last night), when we are expecting more snow both tomorrow lunchtime and possibly on Sunday night....

  11. Another low-relief building...

    1. halfwit

    1. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

And Puff 'n Stuff was followed by 'Monster Mash'...!!

    2. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

A lack of 6mm ply has driven me to this! (but the glued and laminated cassette based is setting now and seems pretty strong!)

    3. Chris Nevard

      Chris Nevard

      halfwit

Are you fixing it hanging from a cliff face then? :)

    2. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

It felt a bit like that - it's just such an awkward thing to repair - the fact that the original was epoxied into the etched lattice doll meant that it wasn't just a simple job of removing it and fitting a new MSE whitemetal one.

    3. Worsdell forever

      Worsdell forever

And you have refrence photos of how it looked on saturday...

    4. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

Yes, putting them on the inside and the outside. I'm using the plastic ones from the P4 Track Co, cut in half....

  19. Stopped weathering retaining walls and girder bridges for a moment, and will now scratchbuild a couple of pizzas...

  20. Went in to do a bit of innocent Proxy Shopping for 10800 just now, only to find stuff waiting there for me too! (mind you, one of the items was a lovely Hawksworth!)
